If you doubt his depth, look at the mirror on the right and you’ll get a clear shot. His depth is spot on. Nobody at my gym squats 4 plates for more than 12 reps. This guy is insane strong!!!
I don't doubt his depth, I simply can't see his depth, and that includes the mirror on the right, where you absolutely cannot see a clear shot of depth.
That was some incredible breathing/respiration to keep you conscious and able to persist for so long (as well as mental fortitude of course). I managed 140kg for 20 once and at the final rep my back muscles gave up the ghost (perhaps partially due to going beltless) and because my breathing was so shot, getting the weight up ended up giving me an exertion headache that would recur over the next 2 to 3 weeks. This right here is just amazing.
Um..don't rob this man. It's 405 lbs.. not 400 lbs..if you want to get technical, it's actually a bit more because of each clip on the sides :) this man is straight out of a comic book..he's a MONSTER.. Superman would have a hard time beating this..seriously this is something only a small handful of men can do on this planet..and I mean a VERY VERY SMALL handful!! GREAT JOB brother!!
RESPECT, BRUTAL !! what do you build most with so much Weight and so much Reps: Hypertrophy/Mass, Strenght or Endurance? Or everything in the same Ratio? I Started by myself to do 20 Reps and more with (for my conditions) more Weight "100KG" (Max is 160-170Kg) and i think everything build up, my Mass, my Strenght and my Endurance. Keep up the hard work! p.s. Irish guys are the Children of Heracles and Keltis ;)
I've done 100 kg for 21 reps as sort of a little competition with my friends. Needless to say, my form went to shit after 14. 180x42 seems absolutely insane.
Fucking hell, great work, you have some super lunges, I remember when I first started training I started on super squats program once the weight get quite heavy doing them 20 rep the last 5 or so it was more about just trying to breathe and get some air in my lungs, my hat go's off to you, your a beast
After the fall of The Empire, Darth Vader found himself unemployed and desperate, unable to find a job anywhere due to his resume and no good references. Finding himself at the end of the rope, he took a job as a RU-vidr's cameraman.
Most people cant even do that 42 repswith there own bodyweight as in 'Air Squats' never mind 4plates asife on their BACK this guy is a Mutant Warrior !
I’m more amazed at his mental strength. Lots of strong physical guys can move a lot of weight for a couple reps BUT to fight the urge to rerack that weight when every fiber of your body is screaming stop after like 20 reps is an amazing feat itself.
Stellar! I'm no keyboard warrior... I have legitimately squatted 170kg for 22 reps so I know what a herculean effort this is. The "cardio " requirements for this feat alone are massive let alone strength and mental fortitude. Very well done
As well as higher reps being less precise, the calculator is assuming that you're not resting between reps. If you can squat 400lb for 42 reps without pausing, then fuck, you may well be able to squat that much.
Wonderful feat !! But why on earth was this filmed from this vantage point ?! Who on earth would choose to film a squatting phenomenon with an obstacle directly in front of the subject ?! Just move to the right a few inches !!
Massive respect to this guy because after about 20 reps every fiber of your body is screaming to rerack that weight and stop. To continue takes a strong mind to persevere aswell as body
@justin abraham lol I dont care how much drugs you take you will never achieve that, so tired of these weird butthurt losers that comment on every lifting video about steroids. Not a fucking clue.
Train. Eat. Rest. Repeat. Yeah, I don’t understand why people who don’t lift automatically result to the steroid insult. It just makes it obvious that they don’t lift. What this man achieved in the video is impressive.
Are you smoking crack?? 😬 Being tall with that much weight is surely a disadvantage. Come on dude that's common sense.@@azsegrxdhtfgvijnkomlewrhtg9508
Man this is where it's at!!!! I just did 260 pounds for 30 reps, watching you do this makes me so happy. It's amazing to push yourself so hard that you almost pass out and... The breathing! Heart rate probably couldn't get higher from any other activity. This is where it's at!!! Thank you so much for pushing the envelope
All you idiots leaving negative coments you must be out of your mind Lock is one of a kind bodybuilder he is beyond inspiration hes cancer surviver and he trains like this regular in his workouts I've seen few and it hurts just watching him training☝️ none bodybuilder I've known train so hard Tom Platz use to. Anyhow I have nothing but respect for him his work ethic absolute legend and beyond
I wouldn't stand that screaming around if I were him. Those were ass on heels squats. The hardest moments are not during a heavy squat set, but those few silent moment right before beginning, adrenaline, butter flies, and self challenging activities taking place.
Not dumb when I am describing what I feel around the squat session, but rather dumb when you pretend to feel accurately what other people feel and you do not.
This was in my recommended videos and I'm blown away at this. Been lifting for 10+ years and watched lots of lifting content. This is top 3 most insane feats of strength I've ever seen..
Fucking impressive any key board warriors please , you most likely got tired typing with your fingers, maximum respect as squats is the hardest exercise to do so dude must have some solid fucking legs,
Would've been good if we could actually see the depth of the reps instead of staring at someones back! Terrible camera work; but maybe that was the idea!
Check out the opposite angle video on this same set at facebook.com/PowerliftingMotivation/videos/1144681658934862/ for an unobstructed view. There was nothing wrong with the depth on any of his squats. It appears he spends as little time in the squat as possible and is able to do a mini recovery at the top, even with the load, until he is completely gassed.
Currently changed my entire leg routine. Just one set minimum 15-20 reps. At the moment, at 275 lbs for 16 reps. The cardio benefits and leg growth have been insane. Thank you Arthur Jones
He did break parallel but it’s definitely not ass to grass squat because for atg squats , you won’t be doing it at that paste. It is much harder to do atg squats. Still impressive tho
Great Feat of Strength! LEGENDARY 10 ton set...almost ... Lock Gannon was only 8 reps away! Lock ,You can do it ...great goal with a nice ring to it :). I have some appreciation of where you had to go with pain and fear ...In 1973, my regular leg workout was full squat 225lbs x25 reps (5 minute rest) followed by full squat 325lbs x25 reps (5 minute rest) followed by "old school" plate loaded leg extentions 315lbs x 3sets of 15reps . I had butterflys in my gut driving to the gym ... knowing what I was going to put myself through.. I was 6'6" 255lbs at that time.(long range of motion) .I'm 71 years old now, Checkout my TEN TON SET 70 YEAR OLD on youtube. Congratulations Lock Gannon
yeah not bad but i counted 40. Also these were breathing squats with long pauses. Poor video with guy sitting in front the whole time. I'm not saying that's easy, but it's not that hard either with a little practice. If u want me to say it's a great job, ok
TheDreamJP it's all relative my friend. I remember doing 100x20 for the first time to this day. Never dreamed I'd ever get near this 16 years on. Keep doing your thing👊
