The exclusive Tatsuya Scenario that's only in the Japanese PSP version. Persona 2 Eternal Punishment PSP English patch www.reddit.com/r/Megaten/comm... Full Story Tatsuya Scenario - Persona 2 Eternal Punishment
Apparently, this scenario establishes Kei's route in EP ss the 'canon' one since well, story reasons... Damn. I remember coin flipping which one to pick back in the day... Nate, or Ellen... Ah, to not know any better. Well, to be fair, even as a kid I knew Persona had been HEAVILY cut down and altered but just didn't know what their original names were until a little after beating Persona 3. Speaking of which, to think the Kririjo Group and Nanjo Groups were related... Anyway, I digress. What I really meant to say was that I'm happy that the remake added this scenario because I did used to wonder what the hell Tatsuya was doing off screen. Incidentally, when I first played this game as a kid, I did learn that Eternal Punishment was part 2 of duology but again, not much else until years later... forcing me to fill in the blanks over the yeas. One reason I'm so happy I got the PSP remake of Innocent Sin when it came out I was bummed out that there were no plans to localize Eternal Punishment for whatever dumbass reason.... My eternal gratitude for the modders and fan translators htough for FINALLY making an english patch! I'm tech dumb though...
This scenario is exclusive to the PSP version. It didn't exist back then for the PS1 version. The original writer, Tadashi Satomi, came back to write this scenario years after he left Atlus. Aside from that, you still need to play both routes to unlock EX Dungeon on the third walkthrough in both PS1 and PSP version.
@@player2-lightwater914 ...Okay. So what? None of that changes whether Kei's scenario is canon or not other than the fact that it was the scenario depicted. Making something canon retroactively isn't anything new....
@@LongTran-kp3kz Not necessarily that Kei's route is canon and Eriko's route is non-canon because of Tatsuya's Scenario. There are several times in other games where both routes/endings are canon. For example, both of Zero and X's routes in Mega Man X4 are canon and both Chris and Jill's routes in Resident Evil 1 are canon. Recent example in Mortal Kombat 1 also revealed that both Fire God Liu Kang and Shang Tsung's endings in Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath are canon. In essence, both Kei and Eriko's route can still be canon despite Tatsuya's Scenario can only be fully played on Kei's route.
@@player2-lightwater914 Actually, neither Chris or Jill's game routes are canon per se. It's something of an original combined path that is never actually seen in the games. A kind of canon 3rd route. As for MK 1 and Megaman... Those are cases where the circumstances either are clearly allowing for 'every ending is canon post whatever game' like with Mortal Kombat, but that was only officially a thing AFTER the Aftermath DLC.. Or Megaman where it's explained outright that both paths are parallel and canon, either in the game, supplementary material, or a direct/sequel mention later on or by retcon... which can happen. This case is more like a retcon than anything else. Now, you 'could' be right and all paths are canon, but you're also clearly denying the retcon angle by simply stating that both MUST be canon when that is not always the case, especially in a very narrative focused game like this. And yes, this is very much a case of retcon. Or, at the very least, you can make a very strong argument for that case since there's no real denial for it other than 'not necessarily'... which is an INCREDIBLY weak argument here... I'm not denying that view and you're free to have it, but it just lacks weight in this particular case as opposed to the retcon argument.... which is way more common than not.
What's your PPSSPP settings? Are you using the Vulkan renderer? The textbox for me is transparent for other renderers but it's fixed if I use Vulkan, but then the battle effects become bugged.
Yeah I do use Vulkan to fix the textbox transparent issue. I'm not sure about the battle effects getting bugged from it. Here's a run down on my graphical settings. @@BuffMaister Yo massive thanks for sharing your settings. For me weirdly in Vulkan, when a character lands a hit, a solid opaque box appears instead of the element, physical etc visual effect it should appear, might be something on my end then I'll try a different version of the emulator, thanks! Edit: Figured it out, texture filtering set to "Auto Max quality" was causing the issue.
Is it possible to jump right to this Tatsuya Story or do you need to play the game until a certain point? I beat EP a while ago on Ps1 and i'm not in a mood to play it again tbh
2:55:37 besides the 'SOS' before, this thing said 'THIS IS DELICIOUS, THANK YOU, ME DO THIS' in wabun morse code then fighting route it says 'WTF? ME, YOU. EAT WHOLE.'
Lol pretty much any character in this video is almost entirely untouchable. Tatsuya alone in the first 2 parts took on 2 Byakhee and several other incredibly powerful demons and held his own against a revived Kandori while limited to one Persona, even as a wild-card user. The aforementioned Byakhee wouldn't show up again until P5R's third semester. Then the squad said "fuck it, let's go to the deep collective unconsciousness, we gotta save this chick" and promptly kicked the asses of nearly a dozen of humanity's strongest cognitions, including Eldritch abominations, religious figures, the _true final boss_ of a future game, _Cthulhu_ himself, and the avatar of Nyarlathotep. They did all of that just for the original Tatsuya to go back to the "Other Side" and potentially never see Shiori again, so, essentially, they did all of that to save one woman. The same woman that probably wouldn't have been in trouble in the first place if she had just told Philemon her name...
