I just discovered these today. They are very addicting!! I love them. I'm surprised that white Trans Am beat the heck out of everything, even that WRX. Awesome car!!
Well, the new rear sway bar made a huge improvement to my car's launch and cornering but still not enough for that Camaro. That thing is FAST! I missed 3rd gear going into turn two but I don't think it made a difference, he had me beat anyway. Going to overhaul the front suspension and steering over the winter and try again next year. As always, thank you for doing these videos!
Kris Merrill yeah, he chewed me out for my burnout in round 1. Last time they told us we could do a burnout as long as we didn't sit in one spot. Would be helpful if they made up their minds.
Robert Hill I Look forward to seeing what you can do next year, looking better and better every event! Also that's kinda lame that they don't let you do burnouts.
Thanks so much for posting these vids. I look forward to each one. These are some of the most entertaining vids that I watch. Can't wait for the next one.
I've seen that late 80s camaro with the firebird GTA front end on it in a shot load of these video in both primer black and painted white. It's handles likes it's got a firebird's ws6 suspension package on it. It's hell through those turns. The 89 formula firebird with a WS6 package could come just shy of a hitting 1 lateral G in a corner. Gm didn't want to admit it back when they were new but the ws6 formula could actually out accelerate and out corner the 89 corvette. They had the same engine if you got the Tuned Port Injection (TPI) 350 but the tip 305 was actually better for that intake unless you bought higher flow intake runners. Both the tpi 305 or tpi 350 in a formula firebird ws6 actually rode better, handled better and out accelerated the same year model corvette. They almost handle equally but the formula firebirds could out run them because they had the same transmission gear ratios but the corvettes had really high (numerically lower) gear ratios in the rear. Corvettes would have around 2.77- 3.08 gears and most formulas had 3.23-3.42 gears in the rear. My grand father had an 89 corvette with a tpi350 and automatic transmission and I had a 89 formula firebird with a tpi305 and automatic. His car was better kept and had lower miles but my 305 formula ws6 would beat it at everything except braking. I have 3.42 rear gears and he around 2.77s or something real close to that. It's been 16 years since then so it's hard to keep up with what his cars rear gear was exactly. Just a little side fact, the Tuned Port Injection (TPI) was actually designed for the 305 but GM backed out of selling corvettes with a 305 in them except for very very few that were made for California. The long intake runners on the TPI couldn't flow enough air at higher RPMs for the larger 350. The tpi350 basically fell on its face at 4300rpm while the tpi305 could flow well up to about 4800rpm. Both made great low end torque. They were good engines for their time. Hell the lt1 intake is basically the same but with shorter intake runners. The formula was basically the base model v6 but they put the v8 drivetrain in them. My tpi305 formula used to consistently beat a local guy around here at darlington internation dragway ( a few mile down the road from the nascar track) he had a show car condition tpi350 GTA but I'd beat him because the GTA was heavier and had the TPI350. We had the same rear gears, transmission and intake system except he had a 350 and I had the 305, we even had the exact same tires. It was only because he had the heavier, fully loaded GTA 350 that he always lost.
I was in the silver integra. Also 11x rebel that won the feature later that noon. Did you happen to get a video of the flagpole? I wanna see me in the silver #71 neon trying to drift the track in 1st gear haha!!
I noticed the wheel set up of the camaro, smart guy. If that subaru had a little more of a skilled driver and better rubber that would be a real close race. Who drives the camaro he or she is an animal
lambocentenaRIO Oh yea I always think about joining, I did once a few years ago ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AFvuPRL7KO0.html&t ) but that's it. Would love to try again. If I did I'd need to find someone who will help me by filming the event from the outside as well for the channel.
No problem! And lol I hear you on that, came out good...unfortunately I had to redo some of my better intro edits cause they were blocked due to the audio which didn't even have a copy right policy listed.
Yeah it sucks, during the "off season" I'm gonna try to learn some computer editing software...I've been stuck to making everything on my phone and it's hard to switch at this point haha
Guys, i love this channel and the race. But It was a bad mistake to put the image of the final race as the image of the vídeo. We knew at beginning what race would be the final one :(
01Z06guy if they are gonna start banning things, it should be awd/4wd. Alot more entertaining to watch rwd cars struggle around the bends. If the ricers can have awd, let the barges have their sticky tyres.
I understand what you're coming from, but its spectator drags for a reason, you're supposed to drive it there, race, then drive it home, not trailer it there with illegal tires and then race.
it is too bad everybody has to race there street car against that Saturday night stock car...the front spoiler is about an inch of the ground and the tires and wheels would not be allowed on any street stock stock car at any track I know...
Might not be a stock car but it's hard to argue if he is a better driver or if the slicks are doing the driving for him..not everyone is gonna throw a set of slicks on for spectator drags.
Looks like you were right next to where my daughters and I always sit. We sit section H near the top next to the stairs. We came out front after the spectator drags.
Audiwan Kenobi I was in the silver teggy. I told him in the black teggy whoever got the inside lane woulda walked away with it. I just whipped the e brake and was gonna drift turns 1 and 2 but my cousin in the black 95 hit hit brakes and I had to check up over the curb haha.
cJared3b They told us all that tire regs will be coming to Oxford next year. No competition tires will be allowed. I told them I was okay with that, they just saved me $1,400!
Another competitor made that same point. Asked if the rwd cars could run comps on the rear only. They told him they would consider it. Awd cars will have the advantage regardless of any tire rule.
I hate ricers but I hate "Camaro" even more. How many Camaros have I seen along side driveways in the weeds, out behind the garage, up on blocks, I lost count. Shiverlay JUNK!
