The Su-22M3 is a Rank VII, currently 11.0 BR, Russian squadron strike fighter that kicks rear end and takes name, but isn't particularly forgivable due to the BR in which in lives. In short, while veterans of the game will love this vehicles, new players may find it difficult to find success with due to the incredibly difficult slate of enemies that it currently faces and will face even moreso into the future as better weapons and planes trickle into War Thunder. In short, however, the Su-22M3 is a dog of a plane (in a good way) and, if it were premium, it would be the perfect high tier grinder for the Russian air tech tree.

Honestly I see a lot of people getting the su-22 and get shoot down by three enemies chasing them, but it’s not the planes fault it’s the players fault. The plane is really good if you know how to sneak behind enemies and kill 2-3 will r-60 before getting spotted.

That’s what’s wrong with a lot of players that don’t really know what they’re doing like I understand you want to get a new shiny toy and all that but it really affects the gameplay and everything else that up deals with the plane and like I’m OK with people you know buying new shiny toys but at least get used to it and don’t be like oh the planes bad no you’re playing it wrong for instants today I’m grinding for the F4E and I’m using the F5C and bombing and vases are you using live long enough to at least get one facepalm and shoot a missile off at someone simply because I fly low and fast and go off to the flanks but unfortunately mig23‘s Decide to go low and have fun with me and not prioritize actual enemies

@@mr.marauder2982 MiG-23s go low because they are playing their plane correctly if they’re not using the SARH missiles. It’s much better to fly low and notch to avoid radar detection on the 23M so it can have all of its 12 countermeasures be flares. The MLD is more flexible in its playstyle, but the same strategy still works well for it.

I absolutely love this jet. This was my first, and so far my only Squadron Vehicle, and thankfully I already had gotten somewhat used to top tier jets before I started flying it.

Agreed. This thing absolutely stomps. Blistering fast acceleration, fantastic energy retention, it turns very hard at any speed, and 6x R-60's. It's kinda OP and I use it as an air superiority fighter far more than a striker lol

The best thing about it are the 500 kg bombs. I've made some tests and 1 bomb exactly take 1 quarter of a base in a game with 4 bases at 11.0. So it seems clear that these bases are taken out with 1,36 t of TNT. Very nice to know.

they made it so top tier no longer has airspawns for strike aircraft, which is a big nerf to the SU-22M3 and other similar planes

Cant wait to use this in top tier ground rb, i finally unlocked the t80 bvm last week. To grind the air tree i'll probably stick with using the Su-11 untill i reached rank 7 though, man do i enjoy flying it!

I would be nice to have a New preview after the strike fighters at higher br's lost the air spawn. It feels a little bit ruff to play when u have only r60 and zero to 12 flares und 160 shots.

I just starting running this a lot and holy shit it's really good. I'm dog fighting F14s with the R60s after destroying a single base. Really strong RP and SL, adding it's use in Ground RB, this plane is really really great for a free plane.

The problem with squadron vehicles is that if you are researching one of these vehicles in one country, you cannot research another vehicle in another country. I only play SIM, and this is the way it is. I do not know how this works in AB and RB.

They're heavy duty flares, They're much brighter than regular flares. Im not saying you should keep afterburners with flares, but I'm saying it might still work. Also, sometimes its good to just dump flares in case someone is trying to get a lock. Dumping flares periodically is a good habit to have. In the case of this plane, since it has very few flares, you should dump flares when you go through a furball, just to make sure no one is locking you.

This looks like a good plane. I think the main thing I want it for CAS and flanking. This plane looks like its designed for that and excels at that. I have a friend who likes this plane so Imma get it.

I like using this plane to take down the F-14 players who spam BVR missiles, however, I run into problems after the first F-14 due to the low flare/chaff capacity

Bought this thing and was getting absolutely dogged on in air battles it’s my first jet and I’m a ground player bare in mind but I don’t regret it it’s still great to use for CAS

the su22 used to be quite bad but since it's a squadron vehicle that tons of people consider GEing, it's quite a ridiculous flying tank right now. It shrugs off your 30mm's like no other.

he isn't lying about the speed this thing achieves, You can literally go Mach 1.6 at 5Km when flying horizontal. and with it btw You can outrun quite alot of missiles in downtiers

I know this was posted 2 months ago, but so I’m almost at top tier for Russia, just got t72a and about to get t80, you think this is a good choice? I don’t have a lot of Russia plans researched, I am currently in process but in the mean time I like strike aircraft and this one I do seem to like, I know how to play high tier, Do you think it should be fine? I already have bmp2m, and the other choices u listed besides the leopard in German high tier

well the R60 kinda ruins the thing that compares with all the missile on the jet in 10.7 RB , why the hell BVVD make this 2nd generation jet play with a 4th generation jet room

It’s funny how accurate this I mean I don’t consider my self a good pilot in anyway shape or form but it was very accurate when he said I make it home 2/3s of the time in Wich I also find t were I only make it home 2/3s of the time with SU-22m3

Nonsense. You just need to unsweep wings, throw airbrakes, and go down to maybe 20% throttle to land, and your gear rip at over 570kph.

@@IanNuke for my experience in simulator mod soviet top tier jets do take longer to slow down even with airbreak and unsweeped wings, compair to other heavy boys like phantoms and a10. And the landing distance is longer as well.

Man doesn't mention that the laser guided missiles are absolute aids to use, and rarely hit their intended target. In the end, just use bombs, the "cool laser guided munition" simply isn't worth the suffering

Ya'll should look at the F-4J skins. They tried making several skins, but all of them suck. They made a Blue Angels skin look like it's made of paper and has been sitting in a junk yard for years, when it should be *very* reflective. They made a VF-161 Chargers skin, that looks incredibly washed out compared to the awesome user made/market one for the F-4C. And worst of all, the (200GE only) VX-4 Evaluaters skin is still labeled "Evaluters" and is lazily mirrored on the tail (the right side "XF" is backwards, in huge letters). Even the default kinda sucks; details are hard to make out and the colors are off. I learned how to make proper skins just so I could fix it myself. Might post it to wtlive

@@Nighthawk2401 I know some skins still look like were made in the 2000's (also some cockpit details), or based on a toy. But it is least something, and the SU-22 was used in many countries so having only one is a sin, and no not Syria is my problem more like the weird green on weirder (sand-ish)green; it sticks out on most maps!
