Recently at a vacation in Bulgaria me and my family actually got to check out an Su-22M4 at an aviation museum, and my dumbass didn't even know such a variant exists and Google search somehow brought almost no info, now ironic to see it get added to WT in the La Royale update. Up close irl it looks super cool and reliable even though realistically it might be inferior to the competition, and it's huge as well, much bigger than any other fighter jet I've seen (except the IL-28 even tho it's a bomber and not a fighter).

The Su-17M4 / Su-22M4 was a tough, reliable, effective, attack/strike/bomber/interdictor aircraft. In its heyday in the 1980s, it was easily the match for any of the aircraft playing the same role in the NATO arsenal. The swing-wing “Fitter” (the NATO name for the aircraft) saw lots of action in Afghanistan, but even more importantly, during the Iraq-Iran War which was fought 1980-1988. It was popular with its pilots, and definitely proved its worth during that very hard-fought war.

This was my first top tier jet (my brother gifted it me because i was reluctant to play top tier) and playing right now at 11.0 feels like a breath of fresh. Main advantage is its engine, so it's good at energy fighting and the missiles are fine 3rd party killers, which happens often vs 10.0ish premium jets. Overall the KD ratio improvement is colossal thanks to the slight downtier.

I found that on planes that have upwards firing flares, the flare distracts the seeker for a moment, yet the seeker than can still reaqquire the engine signature.

I have a funny idea. I’d like to see you try one of the Japanese rank 1~3 twin-engine interceptors with the big HE-only guns. Some Italian and French (indigenous) props would be lovely to see as well, seeing as you haven’t covered them in a while.

The Su-17M4 is actually one of my best aircraft stat wise - the active protection system (aka 256 flares on periodic that last a whole match), 6 R-60M's and gunpods make it quite fun to play as air superiority. I think I even scored an ace a couple of times

My favorite way to fly this plane is not to use it intended. I'll get a few kills off start if possible if not just basically stick with the herd and wait till they start camping airfield. I will then proceed to use the 14 km ranged anti-ship missiles on the airfield as they camp it. Works flawlessly every time and I love it so much.

Even in a full fighter loadout you should always bring the TV missiles, rhey are amazing and with the zoom on them its no issue to fire and forget them against some pillboxes or tanks.

Now imagine flying the tornado marineflieger at 11.0 or the other tornados ids at 11.3, 2 AAMs with the worst flight performance of high tier

why is the G.91Y at 9.3 when Sabre-K os 9.0. It has no place as a fighter and as the ground attacker in ground RB its useless since 9.3 is non existent for italy, but 9.7 is and there you have a YS which has a CCIP. Putting it at 9.0 would be more fair as it doesnt have flares or missiles, and it would be useful at ground RB

It makes me absolutely thrilled being at 10.0 where the only good aircraft with speed, climb and gun is the F105D. Drawback: It’s the only good plane yet it doesn’t have ANY FUCKING flares at 10.0 and playing anything from that range all the way to 11.0 in an uptier is just a guaranteed death. Please for the love of god, add flares for it Gaijin. We’ve been begging for a long time as well as well as the F4C. They’re stuck in that BR because any higher and it’s stats are outmatched besides having 0 flares. Then going lower in BR away from IR missiles it’ll be too OP. I fucking hate this BR. I’m 15k RP away from the F4C and I’m shooting straight for the F4E to grind everything else that is decent

You should play the Q5's, abosolutly horrendous, the only thing you got is the speed because of the BR it sits at (9.0 for Q5 early/a and 9.7 for Q5l). No flares except the Q5a for some reason, lack luster ground armament, NO air to air missiles and shit guns
