I've watched a lot of videos in preparation for our FT Rv'ing, and you guys are the first to mention putting your emergency contact # on your door. Small detail, but great idea!
I like that a toy hauler can have double duty as an office, nice setup you have. Many good topics covered in this part 1 video. Thanks for sharing, appreciate your transparency.
Your channel is my favourite for the amount info and how-to’s you shared while still maintaining the piece of who you are and where you go. Thanks for doing this! Both an inspiration and pleasure to watch!
We love you guys, and watch your channel often. We live in South Carolina, and went camping a lot much of our married lives. We went from tents to pop-up to Airstream travel trailer and finally to 5th wheel before we bought a home in Franklin, NC. We lived there full time for 5 years then bought a home in S.C. also. We sold our home in Franklin in 2018 and miss it so much. There is no better place to live in our opinion. Now in our 70s, we are watching you traveling all over the US and thinking about getting another small rv. Keep up your good videos and much love to you both. Pam and Ron from Irmo, SC.
Chad and Tara, Thank you for all the work you both put into sharing your RV experiences with the world. I enjoy watching the episodes for the sights and sounds of your travels, the informative DIY educational videos, the product comparison's, the video links and your interaction with one another and Daisy. All of the content is extremely helpful to those participating in the RV lifestyle whether full or part time or wanting to get started RVing. Keep up the great work! Chad thank you for your service to this great country!
You guys ROCK! I am so addicted to your videos and links, I added $1500 worth of stuff to my Amazon account before I knew what I was doing. We pickup our new 2019 Heartland Road Warrior 387 Toy Hauler on Saturday and recently purchased the exact same truck you have, we also have a Harley Davidson Street Glide, so we are so looking forward to getting out and glamping and riding, but your videos have been so helpful for us and we would love to meet you both and ride. Keep up the great work.
Guys. The wife and I will be traveling in the next 4-7 years hopefully??? And we absolutely love your channel. I’ve watched about all of your videos. Please don’t stop you have inspired me to do things differently due to your recommendations. Love it, don’t stop.
I just retired and have been watching RV videos for a while now and we just bought a new to us toy holder. It needs some love because it is a 2003 💕 I love your channel! My husband started watching when he saw your Indian Motorcycle. We have a Roadmaster with a sidecar If we like the lifestyle we are selling everything, upgrading our RV to a bigger toy hauler and hitting the road!
Hey Chad & Tara .... You guy ALWAYS teach us "something" ..... Add that to the AWESOME scenery, the venture RIDES on Lucille, and superb narration ,,, It's ALWAY 2 THUMBS UP from my house !!!!!!!!
Wanted to leave a note to say thank you! We had been pulling a bumper tow for years and recently went full time in an Alliance/Valor toy hauler, which seems really similar to your rig. It really is a whole new world and we're newbies all over again. Thanks for helping us with this huge learning curve. You guys have a knack for finding ways of making life easier as well.
I appreciate all the editing work!! I use to have to choose music for weekly meetings and would spend hours really hours searching for the just the right song for the moment so I can't imaging throwing in the editing of content too!! Congratulations on great videos that are informative and fun to watch!!
Every time we do a sit down video outside mowers blowers *wers start up. It’s a anti you tubers conspiracy ;) you guys do fantastic videos. Love the technical stuff. Congrats.
I have started following your channel very intently the last month or so. The wife and I are SERIOUSLY considering full time RVing. Your channel is loaded with all the information and and answers to numerous quesitons I have asked myself to prepare for this type of life. Thank you both for the time and effort you put in to making your channel enjoyable and very informative.
You guys are great, we've been seasonal campers for a long time and in 2021 we plan on traveling the country, we're on the fence still between a Class A and a Fifth wheel, but I love how your videos cover a LOT about the real life situations that WILL happen when RVing. Definitely will be following more of your videos and advice. You two make a great team and I think teamwork is one of the MUST haves in this kind of life style. Keep up the great videos!
It was great hearing your answers to so many of the question we had. You guys are such fun to watch, keep the videos coming! Looking forward to part 2.
A channel I support has a "Beer Call" members only group that doesn't eat up a lot of time. You simply say guys we'll be at this brewery, bar, event stop by for a handshake and gab over a beer. No muss, no fuss.
You folks are fantastic we appreciate you allot. We thought after years of rving we had it down. OMG full time is another world. Keep up the great work we are learning so much from your info.
Thanks for your videos! We just purchased a fifth wheel RV and your videos have helped us begin to outfit it and prepare for full time RV living in about a year.
Just a quick note to say how much I appreciate you and channels like you. I hate to hear that you have to deal with trolls...but, it's just part of the interwebs. But thank you. And "Long and distinguished"....I see what you did there. :-)
*Glow* *Blush*. WOW guys.. not only is this video just full of awesome information, we are completely touched and blown away by your words about our work. And so thrilled we could play a part in you living your dreams! Even without a membership, we hope to provide a ton of free content - which you can also find on the channel I'm commenting from.
Love your channel. Kind of new, but researching Rvs and found you. I can’t do my job remotely, so it won’t be a full time thing, but the freedom is inspirational. Keep up the hard work....it shows. 😀
I have to tell you guys that you are the best hands down. I have watched a lot of your videos. my wife and I are newbies. We have a grand design reflection 32 ft RV and we have not taken it on the road yet. I have been buying all the equipment you recommend for day one and are looking forward to our first trip. Thank you so much for your how to videos on RV maintenance. By far the best I have seen!!!!
I have learned so much from watching your videos. To many to list. My wife and I are not full timers but enjoy getting away from the hustle and bustle.
You guys are one of my favorite channels on youtube. Ya'll seem real and seem to stay true to who you are. In addition to that, I have a 2014 Grand design Solitude, so that does add some incintive lol. Keep up the great videos.
The production effort of your videos is definitely noticed and appreciated. One thing I appreciate greatly is your effort to equalize the volume of all the different clips from different audio sources. If there is one thing that will get me to click off a video is having to constantly adjust my sound up and down. Thanks, I've learned a ton from y'all!
I think you guys are doing a fantastic job with your videos, I am a broadcast audio engineer and cannot stress the value of good audio. It's great to see your montages, choice of music, transitions and attention to your audio quality in general. We are based up in Toronto Canada and try to get out there as often as we can....Well Done!!
Thanks so much! It’s nice to hear this from an audio professional, especially since I often get very frustrated when editing audio! Lol We really appreciate you watching!~Tara 😃
Love it. Great info, even for those of us already on the road. We learn something from just about every video you produce. And, if we don't learn anything new, we always enjoy watching you guys and seeing the world through your eyes. Keep up the great work!
You guys do such a great job with your videos! We have watched your internet setup video a couple of times. Always great information given in a clear and understandable format. Your videos are so much better than KYD, not sure why you don’t have more subscribers than they do. Don’t get me wrong I watch them too but always feel like I’m being sold something. Keep doing what you do!
Thank you!! We love KYD, so we hope our joke didn't come off like a dig. We admire all that they've built in their channel and community. We're VERY happy with the quick growth we've had in such a short time! All of that said, thank you for the compliment! 😊
it's was like talking to a friend you've known for a while... We already knew the answer to most of the questions (because we've been following for a while) but's it's always good to hang out and enjoy the company! Hope you are well!
I don't plan on full timing but I am looking forward to my new toyhauler and sharing my motorcycle camping trips. I learn a lot watching your videos. Keep up the good work.
I know I joke a lot, it's my go-to... I just wanted to express my sincere appreciation for everything you guys put out! My son and I just got our travel trailer 2 weeks ago and we are full-time in an rv park in Oregon (wine country) while he finishes 3 (hopefully! 😂) more years of high school. I would absolutely LOVE to meet you two in person soon and shake your hands (and Daisy's paw!) and have a drink n grub! Stay safe and have fun! Love from Oregon, Kjell 😁🇺🇸🍻
I'm blowed away people ask you about how you make $ and about "personal" finances. I appreciate that you answered them I appreciate that you answered them but I find asking about your personal financing or your personal lives beyond the normal comfort zone. WOW. IMO. Thanks for all your input for the RV life style.
Well, we definitely get the interest in what it takes to RV full time... We never get into our personal overall finances but have no problem sharing information that is generally public knowledge (price of RVs, cost of staying at RV parks, etc), but might vary from person to person. Everyone RV's differently. That's one thing that's so great about it is you can control how much you spend and scale back when needed.. 😊
Next time ask em whens the last time they brushed their teeth. Asking personal information? I don't know if that's needed. You wanna know what a 5th wheel costs, Google. smh
That EC is freaking SMART. First time to mention that in two years of prepping. Also, Hi Planners and Type A here too! We could swamp spreadsheets and docs and maps...🤣 Thanks for this great videos. I have been watching awhile but rarely comment because most are done through TV and Firestick.
Thanks guys, we don't often comment on here but we wanted you to know we have gotten a lot of useful information from your channel as we are new 5th wheel owners as well as a lot of entertainment.
I love your channel, Chad and Tara! I get a kick out of your emphasis on correct grammar, since I'm a "grammar police" type myself! You present interesting and helpful information in a very enjoyable and humorous manner. Tara, it occurs to me that you bear some resemblance to Kate Hudson, so If Hollywood ever decides to make a movie about you two, maybe she would play the role!
You shared much more than I expected (or would even care to). Continued success to you - YouTubing is a heck of a lot of work, but you make it seem worth the effort.
I love your videos, you’ve truly inspired my husband and I to go on the road! We’ve recently purchased an RV and are looking into different trucks now, we got really lucky with our camper, and were able to purchase an older one outright with my inheritance my dad left me! I always get so excited when watching your videos bc they’re so informative and inspirational! I’ve learned everything I now know from y’all and doing my own research, so thank you and I love y’all!
Hey guys, just wanted to say thanks for all the videos and info. Just recently started thinking about rv'ing full time and it's been incredibly helpful.
In a former life I was a TV news photographer and I can attest it's a whole lot of work creating good quality, interesting videos....shooting is the easy part, IMO, editing is where the story comes together. You guys do a great job, KYD's Mark is a genius and he missed his calling - he should be in Hollywood with his skills making the "real" $$$!!
Thanks for all the honest answers. We're retired so have no need to make a living while on the road but it's wonderful that you are doing it and are so up front about that aspect of your life.
Great video once again!! Even if you've been RVing for some time, you never know when you might learn something. We happened to be in Alaska last year for the KYD meet up!! Yes do one!! Maybe not in Alaska though!! LOL
This is a great way to take care of a ton of questions. It's interesting how bold some people can be eh! I have to say when we started researching the full time lifestyle I wasn't sure what I was going to find. I was happy to come across your channel. I thought "oh cool here are some informative normal people" lol my concerns of whether this was a possibility were quickly diminishing. Daisy is too damn funny. As always thanks for the content and we appreciate the work you put into your channel.
I forgot what I want to say. We have an African Gray bird that likes the sound of Momma. Sounds just like a child crying for its momma. We have added a note on the door that says patriot inside, look in rear window to see her. Please don’t break a window or door to get in and save a child and discover it is a bird. With phone number
D all the above !! YES RVing is hard work! its constant cleaning and maintaining your RV. I love living in my 2012 Kingsport Conquest, I repair, replace and clean it all, myself..I am researching an upgrade to a 5th wheel. Love all the info you love to share!! Keep going, we are all there with ya !! Happy Camping !! Michelle Florida !!
My question, what will you do when you are ready to 'go home'.. i.e. time to settle down in a house again? RV's don't hold their value that well so are you just accepting that you will end up having to take a mortgage again or do you plan to rent etc etc?
Well.. part of getting to see the country is, if we do decide to plant roots again, we'll have a good idea or where we want to do so. Right now, no plans to stop. If we do, we'll figure that out when we get there.. 😊
You may never get as big as KYD ( I love ❤️ there show) but you make well produced informative interesting and helpful videos. Keep it up and I’ll keep watching.
Hi, I subscribed to two full time RV sites, KYD and yours. Both of you produce great videos. I like your honesty in the quality of your videos. We have been RVing for many years with our two boyz but now one has moved out and the other has a couple years of college to go before he also leaves the nest. Last summer we up graded our equipment. We now have a Jayco Eagle travel trailer and Ford F250 truck. In the next years we plan on traveling further from our home and eventually travel most of Canada, US and Mexico. I would like to RV full time but my wife is not sold yet. I watch all your videos and slowly up grading our RV gadgets. Some items you suggested was on my xmas list that santa was very nice in providing them. I am glad that you review the products and give out real life testing reviews. Thanks for all your efforts.
You two do a fantastic job with your videos and the time and effort you put into it always shows. Very interesting content and well done. I've been RV'ing a long time and I still learn from your content. You should be the #1 RV channel on here!
Local M&G’s is a wonderful idea. I am retired USCG. I live in the Fort Lauderdale area and ride a Road Master a couple years older than yours. Anywhere in Florida south of Daytona is a day ride for me. I have watched your channel for a year now and would love to meet you kids.
I have learned so much from you guys. Our RV is ordered we have the truck already and planning to put our house on the market this spring. Its snowing here as I write this...
CreativityRV wrote a whole book dedicated to working remotely. "Work From Home While You Roam". Her channel and your channel are both VERY well done and VERY informative! Clearly you have put hard work in making these videos. Thank you so much for making them filled with such good information!
Thank you guys for sharing your lives and knowledge with us. We just bought our fifth wheel and are going full time within the next year. Leon and Diane Roden
We have been looking for someone else to watch in addition to KYD. We like yall. You're fun. And we love your beautiful truck and rig. And of course Daisy.
Thoroughly enjoy your videos! As someone who used to do wedding videos, I can appreciate your hard work and the challenges of getting good audio. Great job! And yes...editing is reeeeelly time consuming! Lenny
Great info guys. I was really intrigued when you expressed your views about noise from lawn mowers, garbage trucks, etc. in your campground. My wife and I recently stayed at a very nice campground in Texas, however, as we were trying to setup our camper, a portable RV wash company (he used an extremely loud gasoline pressure washer) spent over FIVE hours spray cleaning a camper next to us. The pressure washer was so loud, it could be heard on the other side of the campground. THE NOISE SHOOK OUR ENTIRE CAMPER. Have you guys ever experienced loud pressure washing services in campgrounds? The noise destroyed our camping enjoyment for the entire day, to the point of us having to leave the campground for over five hours. We don't feel that this type of equipment should be allowed in a campground. Brushes, water hoses, etc. are fine but when a service disrupts dozens of campers for several hours, it's way too extreme. Apparently the campground owner receives a kick-back from the cleaning service, as she didn't show any concern what so ever our complaint. In fact, this campground manager refers campers to several cleaning services in the area.
Yes! Been there and done that with the pressure washers and it can be annoying. Not sure there's much that can be done about it except maybe asking for a discount for the days when they do that.
I just want to let you know how helpful your content has been for me. We are headed out on a big trip tomorrow and I needed a refresher video. Thanks so much for all the hard work you put into each of your vlogs!
Thanks! 😊 For connectivity, have you seen our internet setup video? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gTaJdOSFwps.html and Booster video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3UwAuJInlls.html
While on a motorcycle ride last week a friend said he saw your rig on Hwy 12 close to Lolo Pass so he told me about your You Tube channel. Way cool, thanks.
Lots of good info. I feel like some questions people ask are somewhat personal but I guess that’s part of the deal you signed up for. You guys are my favorite rv bloggers. Thanks
Came across your channel recently and love it, Nice Rig ya'll have, I will be stepping out of a 27' travel trailer soon and into a 36' fifth wheel so I've been looking for tips...and have found you have Great info, you two are fun to watch and very informative, looking forward to watching all your work and hope there is many more to come.Keep it up. Be safe out there, God bless
Awesome video & info, you are exactly correct with sound quality, wind noise will make my fingers click off a video faster than anything. Thanks for all your hard work on your channel it is much appreciated !
Great and informative video guys. One thing I love about your videos is that I come away at the end with a smile and also feel as if I learned something valuable. Thanks for all you do! Peace & Love! Have a Glamtastic Day! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜❤️🧡
I'm a born and raised California native. CA does require what they call a "non-commercial class-A license" to tow most anything above a small pop up trailer, u-haul trailer, or maybe a teardrop trailer. I agree there should be training more readily available, but when I get my rig, I'm considering changing to a state without such a requirement--if only because that special license is much more expensive! :-( Pets: I'll be travelling with 7 or 8 cats! Cats are more temperature-sensitive even than dogs, so that's a great gizmo you recommended! So is the security cam to see what the darlings are up to! ;-) I won't be able to afford my rig without selling my home first--so I'll have to find a buyer willing to let me rent back for a couple of months! I want an all-cash purchase: no debt on the road. I'm retired on a fixed income, so keeping travel costs down is vital. I have heard good things about Lazy Days, but sadly, the one "nearest" to me is out in Arizona! :-( Everyone's videos are really appreciated! I know full well how much work goes into producing and editing videos! I have a certificate in TV broadcast, and I created a 45-minute video documentary for a CA history class! Between class work, traveling to shoot both A-roll and B-roll footage, editing, sourcing music, and keeping up with normal household stuff (I went back to college when my kids were in high school), it was all-consuming for 5 months! What editing software do you use? Also--a pet peeve I've seen on several of these RV channels, is people are unaware that use of 'fast forward' function during driving segments isn't really the best idea. It doesn't translate well across the video--in other words, what is seen by the shooter isn't what the viewer sees--it tends to be kind of seasick-making! ;-)
Your videos are the bomb. I'm a long time camper and sure enjoy your travels and stories. Stop by Shady Grove campground in Ohio for a few days. We been there permanent for about ten years. Love to have you. It's in Coshocton County
That was Purdy dang phunny! You two are REALLY good at this. I had A GAZZILION questions about 5th wheels and lots of other aspects of that life and you've miraculously covered a ton of It! Amazing. Now I'm hooked and I bet as soon as my better half sees you in the stuff that I've sent her, she's gonna be koo koo for coco puffs about u guys too! Thanx!
