I am grateful for Elder Kearon’s humility and focus on the Savior, Jesus Christ. I look forward to learning more from him. When I have listened to his speeches, I have heard someone who has great love and concern for others, and a firm testimony of the love of our Father and His Son ❤

God doesn’t care about relevance and neither do we as a church. The 10 commandments are still relevant and we care that we are aligned with God and Christ.
We don’t have a vote. He is called. We agree to sustain him in his calling by the raise of our right hand. Our faith is in The Lord, that Elder Kearon was called by Him. If you do or don’t believe that Kearon was called of God is the real question. Our sustaining him and praying for him brings strength that he will need to accomplish all the tasks The Lord has for him to accomplish. The sustaining is our witness to the heavens that we accept Gods will.
The Kingdom of God is a kingdom and not a democracy. As members, we covenant to sustain and use our means to sustain and support the kingdom of God. Members making and keeping sacred covenants take “being called of God” seriously and reverently.
@@debbiemcclure717 When I was called as 2nd counselor in the bishopric, I wasn't set apart until I was sustained by the ward members. Does this work differently for apostles? Has he already been set apart? It appears he has. He is already an apostle and the members have not had a chance to sustain him yet.
@@debbiemcclure717 I'm not saying he shouldn't be the next apostle. I'm asking about procedures that were put in place for a purpose. Are we supposed to ignore them? I trust the Lord as well. I would imagine that being ordained an apostle is a very big deal. So many things have to be done with exactness. For example, blessing the sacrament or baptizing someone. Word for word is what's expected. So being ordained an apostle should follow this same rule. Why ask for a sustaining vote if he has already been made an apostle? When I was younger, I think they would wait until General Conference. I could be wrong. I'm really not trying to be disrespectful. The church is really big on following procedures. I'm wondering if they have moved past this particular procedure.
Maybe we all need to research all of it! The Bible as well! Just because some man says a book or man have authority to act for God doesn’t make it so! Period!
