So glad I found this video. This is the only clip I've found with Jim Hawthorne's unedited call. He got so excited about the touchdown that he didn't check to see who caught it. He thought it was an 8 so he screamed "Jack Hunt caught it and scored!" (He was a receiver the previous season but moved to defensive back in the off-season, plus he's white and Devery is black). The error kind of makes it cooler because it showed his emotional reaction that he didn't even care about stopping to make sure he had the right player.
Unbelievable... to score a touchdown after being tipped so many times. Tipped perfectly to D. Henderson, in stride... Just WOW. This will never get old.
The funniest part out of that was the Kentucky fans at the other end of the stadium trying to tear down the goalpost not realizing that LSU had just won.
Even though the play was somewhat miraculous, I wasn't surprised in the least. Having attended elementary and high school with Devery he was always doing something amazing... Gifted athlete is an understatement. In 3rd grade he was the fastest kid in the school. It only went up to 6th grade but still you could see he was different. It was easy for him and honestly he was just better than everyone else.. Reflexes, coordination, acceleration you name it he was levels above everyone.... Laid back chill dude when he isn't scorching grown men on the football field or track.... a good old boy from a small town nobody would have ever heard about had it not been for this elite physical specimen
JEFF HIGNITE I was a sophomore at Arizona that year and when I saw that, blew my mind. Half my dorm heard me shouting I don't believe it. At least you finally did it in 07. What a crazy year that was
@@jeffhignite9097 I have to ask cause I dont know any UK fans: How many people did you have to tell (on the field) to stop celebrating because UK lost?
Ah, this one never gets old. What a miracle for LSU. THIS IS WHY IT'S NEVER OVER UNTIL THE 60 MINUTES ARE UP. I feel bad for all of the Kentucky fans who thought they won... also, WHAT A DAY FOR DEVERY HENDERSON in that game.
Maybe the most amazing thing about the four Hail Mary plays they are talking about is that all four of them happened on the ROAD. Home crowd deflated in every clip....LOL
Now here's another thing, if that pass fell incomplete or Henderson was tackled short, could this have been a penalty for fans rushing the field before the play ended? Giving LSU another chance?
Who had the worst Walk of Shame? Kentucky's losing head coach walking over to shake hands with Nick Saban drenched in Gatorade or the Kentucky fans walking back UP to the stands who had prematurely ran on the field not knowing the hail mary was caught?👀🤔 I need answers below.
@@joesakic91 i know they got it right about the knee, but the pass interference in the endzone was not right, neither was greedy forcing a fumble and them calling it a dead ball for no reason. NOT TO MENTION they didnt get the first down on 4th and 18 when they only got 17 yards. Now ESPN tried to cover the refs on this one cause they said the line was off by a yard but i dont buy it. They had the whole like ten minute review of the knee being down and I believe a timeout to determine where the yellow line was and you are telling me they got it wrong? Either way it didnt matter, yes im still mad about it but at the end of the day we werent making the playoffs and we ended up gettin a new years six bowl anyways.
Do you think the Kentucky players still regret to this day pouring Gatorade all over Guy Morris way too soon? This was the first thing that came to my mind after hearing about Guy Morriss’s passing. May he RIP.
They missed the best part where fans were climbing on the goal posts trying to tear them down as lsu player crosses the touchdown line with winning play
I'm sure, even to this day, those Kentucky fans who rushed the field are still sick to their stomachs (especially the guy in the suit and tie, Daniel Tosh needs to do a web redemption for him).
