People don’t realize how hot those cars get. The suppression system will make a big difference when an oil fitting explodes on that “one last lap”. Definitely would’ve mitigated the damage to colletes corvette when that caught fire last year
@@mazhul1748 I agree and it is necessary when tuning. Given the stakes involved they often have to remain very direct in order to protect the customer and to a certain extent themselves. It really is crazy how unprepared alot of cars are when they arrive at a tuner. It is not uncommon at all for them to end up diagnosing and repairing mechanical systems just to get to the actual engine control system tuning. My initial comment was also just a joke as Derick did genuinely seem happy with how the BMW turned out.

I feel ya. I've spent probably half that building an M50B30 with China H beams and a China G35-900. Its 500cc bigger and flows a lot better than a JZ head. If that thing doesn't make at least 550whp only reving to 7k with a stock head on pump gas i'll be severely disappointed.

I invested a bunch of my time into learning how to tune Link cause of you! I just started making the first changes today, did some steady state tuning on jack stands in 3rd gear and used the hand brake to load the car. A little sketch over 3500 rpm lol. I got about 5-8 cells tuned so far

Damn you really should have ported that head. Well at least if you do it now you will be able to see where you picked up power and how much just from the porting. Im curious also how much it will help. I know theres quite abit of material you can remove on the 1j head to make it flow much better. Hopefully you port it would be awesome to see the difference it makes. Cant wait for next video to see yall bust your asses building toms car back!
I think Jimmy and Adam are in two different places did you see Adam driving at drift masters ? He's actually using that 1000 hp while Jimmy isn't competing in events where he needs that much power look how long Taylor Ray has had his corvette he still can't drive it as well as the miata it takes time to learn a car
