been a juicebox fan for a few years. cool to see the Irish car culture get some more exposure. hopefully we don’t see starlets go up in price bc i’m tryna daily one soon LOL
@@JB-sv5pr No joke, I've seen like a good handful and all were reasonably priced. I don't know if it's cause I'm on the east coast but like the P60 chassis were the most. Glanzas were the cheapest at like 4-6k on FB marketplace. I only saw autos though.
"In 1998, Daihatsu became a subsidiary of Toyota, which acquired 51% of Daihatsu stocks, and then a wholly-owned subsidiary of Toyota in 2016, assuming responsibility for the Toyota Group's small cars, including those produced and marketed in emerging countries" 34:42
I feel like I need a whole series of Jimmy and Stef traveling the world visiting garages filled with JDM cars and meeting all the people and the stories behind them.
This is how you visit another country. So cool to see deeper into peoples garages. So much unique builds, rad JDM goodies, shit Americans wish they could have.
As a Jamaican Starlet owner… I shed a tear watching the first bit of this video. Aside all the glorious starlets however, Ireland is amazing and I had no idea their culture was this great. I’m definitely going to travel there someday in the future and hopefully I’ll be able to snag one of those Tom’s EP82s. Thank you so much for showing the quirky turbo 1.3 some love and I do hope more Americans start to consider them. (Honda killers those little E engines 🫣😉) *quick edit, I have both the EP91 Glanza V with a turbo 5E swap and a 4 door EP82 with a 4EFTE swap*
Such a good vlog! Your content is usually pretty good, but this vlog is monumental for any jdm rare and weird car fans. Thanks Jimmy . Btw, your stuff is always better when Stef is in it. She's is the only one (maybe besides RJ) that is on the same IQ level as you 🤫
Man I love these Ireland videos! I'm a kiwi but when I visited Ireland a few years back it felt like home. Amazing people, green rolling hills and the cars are all the weird JDM gems we have built in the same half-collapsed barns like we do it (granted our decrepit barns are 80 years old, not 800). I love the US stuff but a damp, leaky shed in a field speaks to me way more than a clean air conditioned warehouse
Tractor flies by 80mph no one even looks over. Pure gold brother such incredible stuff. The amount of first and onlys in your life things you just did. Bruh. Incredible
I love the KE! Jimmy, the 4AGE with the factory supercharger is called a 4AGZE. I have a 2-door KE70 with a 4AGZE in it, still the supercharger on it. It makes 200hp and weighs 795kg.
Our country is completely full of sheds like these. Ireland and N.Ireland have probably the biggest collection of JDM cars in the world outside of Japan.
@@AudibleVisibIe It's not as crazy as it used to be but myself I live in rural N.Ireland and maybe 10 years ago had an Ek9 and GTST, both mind you at time cost me less than 10k total! Not that cheap anymore :(
I'd watch a 2 hour uncut version of this, one of the best videos he's made. So interesting watching an American experience the Irish car scene, there's a lot of similarities between English and Irish car cultures.
Great to see Neil and Juicebox lads on here, top tier RU-vid content. Great crossover! 🇮🇪 Most these places (including Mondello) are within 30 mins of me. Some serious cars hidden away.
Dude the hospitality from everyone was awesome some really nice people the drift game boys really showed yall a good time I absolutely love to see it the Ireland love is so amazing
Happy you did a cinematic edit of Adrian’s builds. They certainly deserved the spotlight. Absolutely stunning. Shout out to Dave for being one of the coolest hosts ever!
DUDE YOU NEED AN AWARD FOR THIS ONE. The B roll work with the gangster tracks for them, the attention to deal and the amazing vibes. All done editing it yourself. You’re a mad man
We literally have sheds all over the country like this , I always take the car especially jdm scene for granted here until I see someone like yourself being so in awe of it. No matter where you are in Ireland there's rare cars in sheds within a couple of miles of you for sure
An hour long video!!!!!? That's not a Vlog that's a documentary.. we love the longer content.. sorry for the late night but well worth it.. content is on point, thanks Dave!!! You should definitely visit other scenes like this.. there are many even in the states..
With Ireland being my home country, it’s so amazing to see other people experience the amount of insane cars we have here, a credit to Dave for the hospitality and all the other lads who took time to show you around. The vlogs have really been amazing
I’ve been to Ireland 3 times and no matter what it still feels like a place that isn’t real. Everything is just so otherworldly and filled with passion. I love it
Ahhhh.... glad Jimmy is getting school on some very cool old school cars that makes the day of the 80s and 90s folk both in Europe and the Caribbean as well
Cool to see early non-ae86 Corolla getting some love. Something that is mostly common with us Puertoricans and other islanders but not seen much state side in general. If you see any state side builds it’s either by someone from PR or other island with a couple Anglo owned ones. One in my area that I know of in specific. Really cool to see that white sprint Corolla. Thank you for including it.
Welcome to being a n honorary member of the proper Irish car scene 🙌 I've a feeling the good days are making a come back and the tdi reeky days are fading
Anyone who has driven a proper 86 will understand that the 4age is the best engine for the chassis and will give you the utmost pleasure and enjoyment. Especially when it’s an optimized setup.
Love the juicebox guys Neil, Ruben, Flip, Brian.... It was so nice to see them on Jimmy's channel. Irish car culture is so nice and you guys have so many gems hidden away and I love rallying, I'm more Escort mk2 fan but ae86 is very cool to.
Half way through the video. From what I’ve seen so far I’m kinda disapointet not seeing a Datsun Charade GTti. But I would have never guessed that Irland was so big on JDM! Much love from Denmark
I absolutely appreciated this video a lot... you've learn about a lot of cars that are just as cool!!! Charmant, AE86 and KE70 Carolla are basically the same car... carry 80% of the same parts
This video, all 56 minutes and 20 seconds worth, was one of the best I’ve seen. Inspiration, education and a bunch of humans just enjoying life and cars.
Awesome Video guys. Cool to see all these cool cars from Ireland 🇮🇪. I see how this is inspiring you Jimmy. I know you'll take this home with you. What a great experience for you. Thank you for sharing this.
I said it in a past video and I’ll say it here, Juicebox doesn’t get enough credit and Japan in a Van is so sick y’all should really watch it if you can. I hope they get a chance to come to the states and check some stuff out.
Another Sick Video!!! Ireland 🇮🇪 is soooo cool literally. I wish CT was more like this 👌👍🙌💪🔰 That's so awesome you were able to take this Trip to Ireland what a amazing change of scenery ❤️ 👏
I bought an mk3 Supra that was imported through Canada and it also had the 1ggeu twin turbo. Shit was actually kind of fast but it overheated on the way home and when I fired it up after the cool down it had a rod knock and it was beyond impossible finding parts for that thing in the US so I ended up trading it off. Was my first and only RHD which is a little bittersweet
About as Irish a welcome as you would expect, especially from the juice box lads, Cars are a universal language as they have proven many a time. So glad you took the time to stay over and explore.
My grew up with my dad 86 coupe with the flip ups in the front in Jamaica and from that day I’ve been in love with them I love them all. This video had me from start to finish never a dull moment
@1:30 "I need to get filled in on Starlets" what did you need to know? EP82 and EP91 Starlets are fun ass little cars. The closest thing in the USA is the 1991-1999 Toyota Tercel and Paseo, neither of which are hatchbacks unfortunately. Starlets did come with numerous N/A engines and at least 1 gas Turbo variant (and maybe a turbodiesel). They were available in AWD as well. engine choices: 4EFTE 1.3L Turbo: 130hp@9psi, the stock CT9 turbo is a hair dryer over 14psi and known to self-destruct ~17psi. Upgrade the turbo, injectors, fuel pump, and ecu and it will make 185hp reliably. 4EFE 1.3L: 88hp/86tq 5EFE: 1.5L 93hp/91tq 5EFHE 1.5L: 108hp/100tq, differences from the standard 5EFE are: higher lift camshafts, higher compression, stronger rods and crank, rev limit raised from 6700rpm to 7900rpm. If you get the later version with the ACIS intake manifold it jumps up to 128HP. Slap on a turbo kit and supporting mods and this engine will make 220hp reliably, 250hp is asking for trouble. A guy i know has made 450hp with a fully built version if you get power hungry.... @5:20 how did i forget the mighty 3ETE? @7:34 but wait there's more!
Mad to see jimmy at the shed lol had the full experience too, bbq, rings, jdm on full display 👌 i miss barry the welder in the videos, it would've been cool to see him make a cameo. Sick vid tho, good length...so to speak
This video NEEDS a million likes! I could watch hour long videos from Jimmy every week so quit apologizing for the long videos Jimbo and give us more. It doesn’t matter what the video is about I’d watch all of it
From what Google says,Toyota owns 51% of Dia's stocks so its a sub of Yota. But this in an incredible upload dude. Having a video this long from you is a rarity and a GEM !!! I loved this upload.
This is one of the best videos you have ever produced. 56 minutes of just straight automotive eyecandy. Absolutely awesome. I love this so much. Thank you for sharing,
Jim love for the 4age is just starting, but for a guy that is used to bigger numbers on the dyno, i think the best option for him is a Beams. And now that you know juicebox and the crew, you should join them on the next journey... Gatebil!!!! Who want's to see Jimmy in Sweden?! lift your hand ✋️
