I know someone who plays the guitar and the keyboard facing backwards. Like he would literally play the piano standing behind it and playing the guitar so well
I'm impressed they were able to line the tempo up, having recorded in two different places.. Especially for a slowed down acoustic cover.. Perfect choice to get Hayley to do this song, fits her voice so well.
How do you know what her hair looked like if it doesn't show her in the video?? Did you even watch or are you just making an assumption on the basis that her hair is always awesome??!!! If its the latter then bravo and you are almost certainly right on the money! :)
I don't understand, This guy is great and I hear a lot saying ¨He can't sing¨. Lol, Like if those same people that say he sucks can sing better. I think he's dope.
His voice is kinda out of the mainstream popstar voice so to a few noob he may sound kinda bad... you have to accept him before you get to feel the goodness in his voice...
He had his own band called 'fun.' and he does solo stuff now. I haven't heard a lot of his solo stuff but his band is one of my favorite bands ever. His voice was not really meant for these notes but in his own stuff he sounds absolutely amazing, some of the best stuff I ever heard. You guys probably have heard his band on the radio with some of their big hits like 'Carry On', 'We Are Young', and last but not least the song that I think shows off his vocal abilities best, 'Some Nights'. All of these songs came out around the same time as this one and I think if you enjoy this song will definitely enjoy at least 'Carry on' or 'We are Young'. Honestly he just doesn't sound his best here but he has a greatly unique voice, I recommend checking out his band's work.
I love watching Hayley sing almost as much as I love hearing her sing. Seeing the passion she puts into her vocals is incredible . So um, where is she...?
And I don't understand why people are so upset over Hayley not being there in person? I mean, she's there, she's singing, why does it matter if you see her or not?
jack's a shredder. he doesn't have to prove himself to anyone whenever he plays, which is one of the reasons he makes fun. so good. he's never overpowering or overwhelming. just tasteful and great at what he does.
haven't heard hayley sing in a while and after listening to this song, i'm reminded of how awesome she is...but really. just something about her voice...
I love Gotye and the original version of this song and respect him and his music very much. I love Fun and Paramore is my favourite band. I think this is an incredible cover. Thank you for posting.. :D
Everyone wants to say anything negative about nate ruess or his voice or his facial expression needs needs to to shut the fuck up. He's voice is so amazing! His style is even better how he isn't afraid to express himself. I'd five anything to met him in person. No negative. Thank you! NATE RUESS FAN FOREVER!
I like this cover because I can actually hear the right lyrics. Solo artists and band artists are known for not annunciating enough to know what they are actually singing about like Blank Space by Taylor Swift with the “Starbucks lovers” the correct lyric is “Got a long list of ex lovers.”
I give many props to the guitar/piano player! He seemed nervous (assuming by his shaking hands) but he did great! So did both singers :) Nate's voice is perfect for this song (as well as many others) and Hayley added the perfect touch with her angelic voice! I give this a ∞ out of 10.
the man playing guitar and piano is jack antonoff!!! he's been taylor swift's producer since 2012, he also works w lorde and lana del rey, he ALSO has a project called the bleachers I think
let me geek more about him: in 2020, he helped produce folklore by taylor swift (got a grammy for that), worked w clairo, lorde, and lana on their albums, and released his own music too. the man is a genius.
## Lyrics ## ## Somebody That I Used To Know - Gotye ## Now and then I think of when we were together Like when you said you felt so happy you could die Told myself that you were right for me But felt so lonely in your company But that was love and it's an ache I still remember You can get addicted to a certain kind of sadness Like resignation to the end, always the end So when we found that we could not make sense Well you said that we could still be friends But I'll admit that I was glad it was over But you didn't have to cut me off Make out like it never happened And that we were nothing And I don't even need your love But you treat me like a stranger And that feels so rough No, you didn't have to stoop so low Have your friends collect your records And then change your number I guess that I don't need that though Now you're just somebody that I used to know Now you're just somebody that I used to know Now you're just somebody that I used to know Now and then I think of all the times you screwed me over But had me believing it was always something that I'd done But I don't wanna live that way Reading into every word you say You said that you could let it go And I wouldn't catch you hung up On somebody that you used to know... But you didn't have to cut me off Make out like it never happened And that we were nothing And I don't even need your love But you treat me like a stranger And it feels so rough No, you didn't have to stoop so low Have your friends collect your records And then change your number I guess that I don't need that though Now you're just somebody that I used to know Somebody... Somebody... Now you're just somebody that I used to know Somebody... Now you're just somebody that I used to know Guys, a hug from Brazil!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

wow this is amazing. his voice is so beautiful seriously. Music is a feeling, but at the right volume. turn the volume right up, start the video again, and just listen...
