Love how different this feels. In the original, it's as if she's losing her mind, delirious, on the brink of a mental collapse, 'hearing voices', drunk-dialing her ex, having completely given up hope. Here, it's as if she's sobered up (after literally having woken up in a "different bedroom") and her speech feels more measured and calculated. She has gained full faculty of her senses and means every word in what feels like an earnest/blunt plea to her ex. Because she still thinks there's some hope left.
@@KA-hk2qm are you kidding lol? Her albums go n.1 and she had a n.1 song in 2014. Probably the most talked about artist of 2014. She isn't underground yall...
This is BY FAR the best I've ever seen her do. I felt so many emotions, felt so many memories rushing through me. This is truly a haunting performance, and you can just see how this song and all the melodies and how everything works were made by a heartbroken girl. One of the most talented people in the music industry - BY FAR. I *cannot* describe how amazing this is.
She definitely was a heartbroken girl while making this song - in her Behind The Melodrama podcast interview, she explains that she wrote this really soon after the breakup, so soon that she was crying while writing it and couldn't really get far with it. The song had to be revisited many months later before it became what we hear
The Fonz because there’s no backup vocals & there’s just one or two instruments playing along so the flow of her voice and the rawness of it is showcased better & that’s what makes this version of the song acoustic, so i guess we’ll just call it electric acoustic.
Leroy Tippett "Here today gone tomorrow"? Dude, if you don't like her why are you here? It makes me angry see people like you comenting bullshit in things they don't even like. Again, why are you here?
Leroy Tippett Her voice is decent, and really has nothing special But her music are amazing, and its not a "here today, gone tommorow" songs Many people love, really love her music Maybe you're just one of a few people that dont like her And I understand, people has different taste in music, so yeah
I cannot get enough of her voice. It has a soft yet powerful resonance to it that is so damn unique. This more acoustic and softer version really highlights it.
QUEEN ELLA MARIA YELICH O CONNOR, LORDE, THE FIRST OF HER NAME, SLAYER OF WORDS, BREAKER OF MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS, MOTHER OF ART, PROTECTOR OF MUSIC. LONG MAY SHE REIGN.
I mean, she was heavily inspired by Florence. She has been for a long time. I mean, she cosplayed the woman in Yellow Flicker beat doing similar choreography in the same suit with the same hair in various red lighting in front of golden glitter tinsel backgrounds. Plus she cited her as the largest music inspiration for Melodrama after seeing her several times in concert ESPECIALLY for Green Light. To top it off she wears many of the same dresses and designers as her and used her videos for her 2015 Odyssey shortfilm for inspiration for the video. :)
I discovered Lorde in 2021 and Lord she is the best, I mean I don't want to listen to even Olivia,s sour now or Taylor swift or others, she describes me the best. So raw, so artistic, so honest.💜💕💕💕
I've been searching so long for this on RU-vid the last few months and never been able to find a version. This is perfect, she's got such a lovely voice and personality!
lyrics I do my makeup in somebody else's car We order different drinks at the same bars I know about what you did and I wanna scream the truth She thinks you love the beach, you're such a damn liar Those great whites, they have big teeth Oh, they bite you Thought you said that you would always be in love But you're not in love no more Did it frighten you How we kissed when we danced on the light up floor? On the light up floor But I hear sounds in my mind Brand new sounds in my mind But honey I'll be seein' you, ever, I go But honey I'll be seein' you down every road I'm waiting for it, that geen light, I want it 'Cause honey I'll come get my things, but I can't let go I'm waiting for it, that geen light, I want it Oh, I wish I could get my things and just let go I'm waiting for it, that geen light, I want it Sometimes I wake up in a different bedroom I whisper things, the city sings 'em back to you All those rumors, they have big teeth Oh, they bite you Thought you said that you would always be in love But you're not in love no more Did it frighten you How we kissed when we danced on the light up floor? On the light up floor But I hear sounds in my mind Brand new sounds in my mind But honey I'll be seein' you, ever, I go But honey I'll be seein' you down every road I'm waiting for it, that geen light, I want it 'Cause honey I'll come get my things, but I can't let go I'm waiting for it, that geen light, I want it Oh, honey I'll come get my things, but I can't let go I'm waiting for it, that geen light, I want it Yes, honey I'll come get my things, but I can't let go I'm waiting for it, that geen light, I want it Oh, I wish I could get my things and just let go I'm waiting for it, that geen light, I want it I'm waiting for it, that geen light, I want it I'm waiting for it, that geen light, I want it I'm waiting for it, that geen light, I want it I'm waiting for it, that geen light, I want it I'm waiting for it, that geen light, I want it I'm waiting for it, that geen light, I want it
the whole version is so magical but 03:38 is so mesmerizing, the way she sings "that green light, I want it" gets to me every time. anyone coming back to this in 2019? I MISS HER, ELLA PLEASE COME BACK
How does she....always read my exact mood and produce sound that SOUNDS like how I FEEL? Like. GET OUT OF MY HEAD. I mean. Actually, no. Stay here. I'll get you a couch & you can move in.
