Thank you Lori for all the work you have done to help everyone 😊your such a kind giving person. I try to remember but since my head injury and I had a horrible situation my ptsd is bad. Love yha I love you and thank you .
You're awesome Lori! Even though I'm not a beginner, I love brushing up on lessons like these because it's amazing what we forget as we get entrenched in our own habits. You're sounding better, I hope you're feeling better too!
I need my pencils, so I really start to put into practice what you are teaching on this channel. These lessons are enjoyable even without the practicing at the moment.
Great lesson! I really like the 3D explanation re the colors and how surrounding colors affect the box. Thanks to the flower this time I understand better how to use dark to make it pop. Thank you, Lori.
I have a question Lori- So dark will make lighter, but I know from one of your videos on backgrounds you also want to choose a color in the background that will make the focal point pop. So if I have a woman wearing a lot of gold and I want to color the background to make her gold crown pop I was thinking of doing a fading night sky with purples (the complementary of yellow in RYB) going to dark blues and then the very edge in a soft black or deep (cool?) gray. Since purple is a darker tone AND the complementary it should make the gold crown pop? Am I on the right track? I hate doing backgrounds because of these decisions. I work so hard to do my picture and then mess it up not knowing what background. I have tons of pictures I need to finish because of these types of decisions. Thanks for the videos. I am learning a lot. I am not really a beginner either but I know enough just to get into trouble ;)
That sounds like it's going to be beautiful. Yes, with backgrounds choose colors that don't blend into the focal object. If the object is dark then choose light and if it's light choose dark. Purple backgrounds with gold is beautiful. Fade the purple. Don't make it all one color or it will look flat.
It's amazing to me how well I'm soaking in knowledge from you this time around. I've been watching you a couple years, but for some reason, it is clicking for me so much better. You are an excellent teacher. Thank you Lori for all your hard work. btw, I can't get onto Amazon's website. Is anyone else having trouble? It says they unexpectedly shut it down. This was all day and night yesterday and I got on for maybe 5 min a couple times only to shut down when I tried to order my color wheel.
Thank you for the video! I have a question, you say that the highest point to the light source has to be lightest, (in this case yellow). does is only true when the light source is centered high at the top of the page going downward? Does that mean that where the light source is coming from - that will be your center point and the lightest color?
I can’t seem to find your channel, because I haven’t seen all your videos on this channel. I not getting all the notifications. Are the videos numbered? I’m sorry I’m a little confused.
Thanks Lori for this refresher. It does raise a question though. When you added the black at the end to make the lights pop, I definitely see the line of black around the bead and since I'm always aware of blending-no harsh lines, this goes against that principle. Is there a way of getting the same effect without it looking like a line? Thanks in advance.
