Have you seen the website of this "university" that awarded Sheree the honorary degree? This isn't even the type of school someone like you or anyone with any real experience in academia should take seriously. Could not care less what they do. We all know these things hold no merit/ weight. Even less so from a "school" like Harvest Christian University

An “honorary” doctorate means nothing academically. It’s just a nice gesture. Anyone who refers to an honorary doctorate as “doctor” is embarrassing themselves. It’s bad etiquette. Please let them folks have their participation trophy!!

@@Jeremiah_29it definitely still is. Black folks flocked up there like they were running to the promised land and it’s always some shenanigans going on up there. When their kids were in elementary school, it was “we don’t see color”. Those kids are in middle and high school now and they definitely see color now.

I lived in Forsyth County from 2009-2019. I first experienced racism even before moving to Georgia. This insurance rep must have thought I was not a Black woman and had a lot to say about the community and how it’s changing. He was proud about the fact the the Mayor of Cumming had been in role for over 40 years and someone had the nerve to run against him and try to make the place look different. At the time, Forsyth Co was only 3% diverse. When I told the man I’m one of the ‘different’ people, he hung up so quick and didn’t give a second thought to offering a quote😮 The second time racism entered the experience was while registering my kids for school. This woman couldn’t believe I bought my house even though she had my deed and other documents to validate my address. She made several comments questioning how I bought the house by myself and offered way too much irrelevant conjecture. Completely offensive! She proceeded to tell me that my children were going to have to go to schools outside of the school zoning for my neighborhood. Absolutely not!!! Now because I researched EVERYTHING before moving, I had the contact number for the Board of Education and quickly called Ann Crow, the representative for my area, had a blunt conversation and returned the next day and had my children registered. Y’all should know the registration lady at Almon Hill was pissed!! I didn’t care. I could share more stories but you get the picture. That said, though this was not a consistent experience, it was evident that many who lived there had centuries old mindsets; however, you learn how to address implicit bias, micro aggressions and other nonsense behavior that exists everywhere.

My manager told me the same thing and I was soooo grateful! I’ve had coworkers not be warned and rolled up in the wrong area, only leaving with the feeling of embarrassment, fear etc. Can you imagine going into work to do YOUR JOB and have to contemplate whether or not you’ll make it home that evening?! It’s sad. That lady had BEEN looking for a way out of FedEx. Like Funky said, she should’ve gotten that man a $25 gift card or breakfast, a genuine smile, a thank you and called it a day!

@@losemycool Peters restaurant got rave reviews on food by John Q.Public as far as I had heard.They also said It was pricey.So,he may not be good at running every aspect of a business ( especially the finances) but they say he Is decent as far as front house mgt.Big personality etc.But he apparently needs training to match his desire to be a businessman/ entrepreneur.He gets an E for Effort.

They Really need to Refuse Delivery to those places since it's a threat to their Employees! 🧠 That's why I said I'm glad it brought so much Attention and Spotlight to the Situation so FedEx (& Other Companies) Will Feel the Public Pressure & Start REFUSING DELIVERY to those Places 🤷🏽‍♀️
