I’m a mother of 4 adult children. My youngest and only son is 27 no children. Once my son was old enough to understand about sex, he was taught that he would have to take care of the girl from the moment she said she was pregnant. I wanted him to understand that it wasn’t just on the girl or woman. He had to know that he would have to sacrifice part of his life as well.

I live in NYC and ride the subway to work everyday. It is not the immigrants. Subway crime has been an issue for decades and decades. Truthfully the issue has leaned towards the teenagers and their gang activity and the homeless severely mentally ill people who live in the subway as they sometimes randomly attack people.

Also because of the financial conversation, I just transfered 30% of my checking into my savings. Thank you so much for the positive energy. ☺️ 🙏🏽

Omg...Thank you Funky for sharing your thoughts on the homelessness..As a nurse and a mother who has a son suffering from schizophrenia, I am so heartbroken over how the mental health care system has failed this population. It's never ending and just hard sometimes taking care of patients that are homeless and have no help after receiving care..Thanks for bringing awareness of how we must cognizant of these folks and just have compassion.

I was raised like you. First credit card, second card, etc. I had graduated from college and didn't know shit about fuk about that! I went into debt consolidation , finally got it all paid down got on a good plan worked my butt off finally got a house in 2003. I still have that house. The times are damn tough right now. New Yorker here Unpopular Opinion : I support the National Guard patrolling the subway. Crime in the subway is out of hand and the homeless literally took over. You can’t blame migrants.

One thing I would add is “saving” the money is good advice but better advice would of been “open a High yield savings account to save your money bc the interest rate is better than a regular saving account.” Some common HYS accounts are with AmeX, Citi bank, Ally bank, etc where is interest rate is 4.35%APR there some with higher rates but you are required to have a certain limit in them. Those I mentioned have a $0 open fee so that would be a good start. Another thing that would of great to mention is to open a Fidelity account for a Roth IRA to save towards retirement. This account is can be opened with simply $5 and they have different types. Lastly if you can pay off any debits! Even if you can only pay on 1 credit card debit get the utilization under 48% bc that would make you less of a credit risk.

The government has money for foreign countries.... they should have money for US citizens. especially the veterans.

Real talk from a Finance MBA > you shouldn’t be getting a tax refund. You’re giving the gov’t an interest free loan! They wouldn’t do it for you! Adjust your deductions so you owe a little bit at tax time, not the other way around! You’ll have more $ for the year > put some in a high yield savings paying 5% interest, make a little on the savings and pay your tax bill from that.

I’m from New Zealand and when my friends and I vacationed in New York City and travelled on the subway, we met the most helpful people on the subway who happily gave us directions and travel tips

You are so right about the homeless community! I worked in homeless outreach in DC and a lot of it is mental health. To sit and actually talk to them and find out their stories, is humbling and sad. Everyone on the street isn’t a bum, one was a Harvard grad lawyer at one point, but mental health got the best of him. I feel like it’s all these abandoned schools, hospitals, churches, office buildings they can come up with something like a all in one housing center. It can be a one stop shop for everything they need, ie shelter, services, healthcare, meds, education, food, job training, mental health services etc. I think that would solve A LOT OF issues.

I’m glad you had the financial segment. It was done just right. He gave a few good ideas and reinforced some tried and true information and it was not too long. This segment should be monthly, rotating experts after 3 or 4 months so that they can convey a concept over time then on to the next expert.

Child the Walmart Ozark cups back in camping work just like the Stanley cup. I've been buying them for years. It hold ice for about 18-24 hours for half the price. I have a Stanley and I don't see the difference. Even my temu cup hold ice for 16 hours. But you a water bottle in the freezer. After it freeze slice it open and put it in the cup and you'll still have ice the next day.

So in regards to the kentury child support story...I have a simple idea. The man pays in a special account and when the baby is born you take the DNA test, and if the kid is his she gets the money if not he gets his money back. This also covers the, if she loses the baby.

Hydroflask, becool, yeti, etc. There's been a ton of these keep cold/ keep hot containers for atleast 10 years!! You been under a rock!! Listen to me.. you can put just straight ice in any of these along with the Stanley, stick it in the fridge, and it will hold that ice solid until you take it out. So if you don't hv anywhere to keep the ice like in a hotel room or whatever, you'll be solid!

Stanley cups aren’t a white woman tease. Baby that’s a Southerners tease. They’ve been around and are popular amongst hunters, campers and construction workers and railroad engineers. The cups are just the tip of the iceberg. They have a whole line of lunchboxes and etc all things needed for camping and hunting

You are 💯 on the immigrants. I live in San Antonio Tx and the crime here has gotten worse because of the the spike in the cost of living. When I travel to the Border no one ever bothers me or try to ask me for $$$.

I lived in NY for more than 20 years....commuted to the City on the LIRR and took the subway to work once I reached Penn Station. NY has DEFINITELY changed!! Every time I rode the subway, I found a corner and took a quick nap!...lol.. Thank God I was NEVER assaulted by anyone or had my belongings stolen. It's definitely a lot of teenagers up to mischief, and homeless people on the subways now.

I was on the Depo shot when it first burst onto the scene. I gained a lot of weight and my hair fell out. Years later my doctor told me that that shot caused me to have bone loss.

When I was a college student, the Depo Provera nearly killed me. I lhad a stroke 3 times and didn't know it, until I described my symptoms to my gyn. I had to switch to a non hormonal IUD ( Paraguard). I rocket that bad boy til it was dislocated 1 freaky night, and that was 10 years later

A lot of ppl with mental illness self medicate or don’t believe they have any illnesses. We definitely need more understanding & sympathy!

My mom taught me to always give when I see someone in need no matter if it’s for drugs that’s between them and god or treating ppl with kindness because you never know it could happen to you. ❤

Hi from London, now, on the subject of investing. Your guy's talking about indexes and Q you mentioned day trading before (which I was smh on - it's super high risk and people should always only ever play with what they can afford to lose. That's how I do it. My portfolio was down 95% at one stage since the credit crunch. It's also a long term strategy. It is NOT a get rich quick scheme no matter how much money you're playing with). That said, how come no ones talking about tax free vehicles? I like in the beginning to keep things sinple. With interest rates higher these days, those savings can earn interest at 5% TAX FREE. I'll be keeping it simple and leaving it at that. I do love that you've got a financial advisor on!
