Let me make sure I get this right. A movie character is a ped. Now people think the actor is a ped?? So it’s an uproar when a fictional character does something. Yet in real life we still don’t have that island list. People are upset about the fiction, the movie. Not the real life list and island? Amazing clown world strikes again.

movies are just entertainment and only that. it scares me when someone can’t separate fiction from reality.

Robert England never gets called an actual serial killer for playing Freddy Krueger, and neither does Brad Douriff for playing Chucky. So WTF gives?!?! 🤷‍♂️

Great video bro! My sister is the type of crazy that takes fictional stories as reality. She is the type of person that would watch the recent Civil War movie and take it as gospel or any type of armageddon movie. She would call me the devil for loving movies like Evil Dead 😈 or Hellboy lol. Luckily we don't talk anymore as I can't stand some of the nonsense she says to me. 😆

What we have here is failure... to communicate. Although it does happen in real life, this kind of thinking/behavior is such an aberration that it probably doesn't really matter what the response to it is - whether the actor handles it in a classy, reasonable way or simply tells people to "go f#ck themselves" or whether people make videos about it or not. There are some people that you just can't reach and never will. Good on Nathan Jones for dealing with it as he did and not falling to his "critics" level of stupidity, but it probably won't prevent some other actor/writer/director from having to deal with a similar situation in the future. These folks are the flat earthers of film and, regrettable as it is, there's not much to be done about it. The point about access to information is interesting because, just as people now have more access to information than ever before, they also have far wider access to MISINFORMATION than ever before - before social media, flat earthers were essentially a debating society joke that no one, including flat earthers, took seriously; now, you get people who honestly believe that we're living a conspiracy run by "the people who make money off selling globes to schools". Social media isn't making people smarter; it's making a lot of very stupid people feel that they have nothing left to learn because they've already done "their online research". Social media isn't eliminating ignorance; it's entrenching it, based on the false assumption that all opinion is equally valid because it's all equally opinion. It is VERY true that one of the major reasons we can't have more movies pitched at adult sensibilities is that the overall ability of people to behave like adults is on the decline, and so adult sensibilities themselves are also in decline. We've had decades of mental pablum films pitched at "the child in all of us" and it's made many people stupid in terms of how they consume and appreciate media. Today, you could make The Godfather and it would totally tank while people complained about the lack of more John Wick sequels and debate about how bulletproof clothing "could work in real life".

I don't think people are stupid. I just think people are just involved in the characters. So much that they sometimes forget that this is fiction and it may be because of personal things going on with their lives or whatever or issues. Or maybe they're having a mental breakdown or something. But it's a very very scary thing. And it's not only scary for the actors portraying the characters, but it's scary for the people that believe it's real. I think social media is honestly to blame for 99% of this because people believe what they see. Now you've got people on social media who are jumping off of buildings that are up to a thousand feet up in the air for no reason. Just to get that 15 seconds of Fame or get more people to follow them. You've got people filming them in a car accident. You've got people being filmed everywhere and everything and with cameras and the way social media is right now. That's the issue problem that needs to stop. It's not just the people are having issues with reality. They're seeing that. Oh well. If it's real then it's real and it's not It's basically like wrestling. Wrestling is not real. It's scripted it's not fake. It's predetermined. They do take bumps. They do get hurt and they do hit each other. So it's a predetermined storyline like a soap opera so to speak. But a lot of people still today believe it's real And unfortunately you can't tell peoples they just believe what they believe because very MERS in that fantasy in the world and there's nothing you can do about it

This is another reason why I believe that all these kind of stories are created by studios and media companies for traction and clicks. It's this digital world we live in. People are literally paid to be on social media to posting these type of things for engagement. His character had about 1 minute of screen time of being creepy. And it wasn't even that crazy. Movies like IT show this type of thing way more forwardly. If it seems like an unrealistic audience reaction, its probably because it is, unrealistic and manufactured. Also, Cancel Joe needs a new sweater! I think that other character is biting your style and words!

Actors certainly aren't necessarily at all like the characters they portray onscreen. Robert DeNiro plays tough guy characters in movies and he's anything but actually tough in real life!
