Honestly, all you need is charging bull and fully invest on the reaver tree. Spam that dragon rage to as close to death as you dare then deploy ring of pain into devour. Rinse and repeat until everything dies. Combat roll is indeed nice to get out of CC.
only problem with that is on nightmare with trials is so easy to die annoyingly compared to this build where you basically can't die xD If you haven't tried this build honestly do, it's worth a shot. I like ring of pain it's just without it i feel i am doing so much more. I'll play around with RoP when i next can but most times i just get back to this build.
***** I never had that problem in nightmare. RoP is just there to amplify the HP recovery of devour. I immediately deactivate after use since it drains so much stamina for the damage it gives off. Hidden blades masterwork works well with this build since dragon rage is all about aggression and you essentially have a fast 4 hit combo that already hits like a truck. Enhanced and superb belt of urgency works wonders with the build since you have a visual reminder* when your health is below 50% and it can remind you when to deploy RoP to devour combo.
I might try your idea of turning it on then straight off in this build. Will try and see if i can get the belt and make a new axe for the build. thanks for sharing, hopefully the testing shows it works well :)
***** I forgot to include flow of battle on the 2 hand tree. Your video inspired me to pick the game back up after not playing for a while. Quick note: You will still run out of stamina during long boss fights so you will have to rely on basic attacks and this is the perfect opportunity to open up with RoP-> Devour->RoP off to fill up your HP.
With this build i've never run out of stamina on boss fights or any mob fights. If played well this build has 0 down time which is insane and the damage output is huge. flow of battle on this build is mainly what does it as you can always use charging bull for a free devour when needed :) glad i inspired you to pick the game back up :)
Great video, inspired me to make this build. However I am playing some of the DLC on nightmare and having a hard time keeping up my guard with just Charging bull and Horn. Should I spec a mastercraft where I get guard on hit, or is that overkill? It seems after watching this video, even after you take damage from arrows etc, your armor doesn't really go down much?
Really appreciate the video :) its been a long time coming, one question.. what do you suggest as the best mastercraft items to use? in terms of survivability and dps
Awesome you like the video :) for mastercraft, you can really go for anything, more stats or crit. hidden blades proc for damage, but i think for reaver the best masterwork is probably Fade-Touched Everite/Dawnstone where you heal 25% of damage taken over 10 seconds. I hope that helps and is what you wanted. Or did you mean what crafted armour + weapon? Anyway hope i helped :)
I think you should put what skills to lvl up first (leveling tree), it helps a lot if you want to start a new game again! Good videos btw! Keep up the good work!
Thanks :) the reason I don't is cause, builds change a ton based on level and most of my builds are only viable once quite a high level. I might say order later but I'll be making low level builds for all classes for people to follow early game :)
Thats good! I'm gonna try this build now, just finished Trespasser for the first time with one of your builds (Archer artificier), i liked it a lot, just sucks that the mines doesn't work on bigger enemies and dragons, but kills everything else pretty fast.
+Clouds F Glad you think so and I hope it's a ton of fun :) epic to hear you used my build for a play through, so so so epic to hear that, and glad you had a good time with it :)
Hey florge i recently killed the end Boss and feel badass now :) so i trying to kill all dragons now. so my real question is wich class should i do next? i thinked about an archer assasin or artificer. i dont like playing a mage and warrior feels Really Slow with 2H. so what do u think i should play?
Awesome that you finished the game (hope its on nightmare :) ) Well for killing dragons artificer and reaver warrior solo. Thankfully for you this reaver build is very high paced. However this weekend hopefully should be a build you really enjoy and is a bit controversial for what my opinion previous was and a build you will take interest in. So i would suggest for now, get a rogue and warrior, and get them both to skyhold and pray my recording doesn't die so you can have a good choice of which to continue playing :)
Who needs to be champion when you can wear an amulet of barrier and learn some guard skills? As long as you’re doing damage your barrier never drains, it’s so great that I can solo the highland ravager, still have some trouble with ogres though
Well I did say what you should take by level 14 if you recall, but first take all of the reaver tree, then the vanguard, and then go get flow of battle in the 2 handed tree so not much points in that tree. Then go into to battle master tree getting combat roll then the horn, and then finishing with the rest 2 handed tree. Hope that helps :)
Can't remeber the exact gear. I know my axe is a craft axe that has the effect to jump to your target which is from the trespasser dlc. basically in this build your gear doesn't matter too much just try to get around 40%+ crit chance, that's what matters the most after that go for strength and attack stats. I hope that helps a bit :)
I like this build, lots of Two-Handed skills to keep your weapon from becoming a mere Stat Stick. As cool as the ethereal berserker Naruto claws are, I still am far more attached to my weapons.
Awesome you like the build. i didnt show it in this cause i didn't think the combat was good enough, but i soloed all 3 dragons on nightmare with trials. The addition of two-handed spells was mainly cause they are the best situation spells to complete the build, but awesome that it makes the weapon more involved :)
Hey StarFlorge, I want to take some time to explains he build I use in this game. So far I run a tempest. I'm not sure if they have been patched but I still feel so powerful. The bread and butter to this build are three moves: flask of lightning+pincushion+10% hidden blade proc on weapon. When I fight a dragon, I simply use flask of lightning and switch characters. The AI than shoots millions of arrows (not sure if bugged) but this causes pincushion and hidden blade to proc. Most dragons haven't even survived this simple combo. If you have time you should try this build out.
Well you would be happy to know the build that is coming this weekend will already do this for you. Been playing around with artificer and changed my whole view, meaning i will have to make a new tier list now as well xD But ill try out the bugged part to see whats up with that :)
Can you stand up against repeated death if maxing health on your crafted armor and using the sigil that gives +100% health at the cost of -100% armor ( you loose health by percentages but are left with far more health if you skyrocketed it)
Cheers for the vid i just picked this up again to try n get all the trophies. I have the +3 guard on hit material but am really not sure when to use it in crafting. Im a lvl 13 2h reaver on nightmare so i dont want to use it too early. Not finding any sugestions on when to use it either. I know i get better mats late game.
How do you get so much block? Only with horn? I play with party on normal and Iron Bull always dies first. (lvl 18) Blackwall is gone, so i have to use iron bull or cassandra. I have so crappy equipment and not enogh skill points for your high lvl builds. The only thing that works is the artificier archer build, but without mines, otherwise i always run out of stamina because my crit chance is too low (32%) it's a little bit frustrating
Felix Hofbauer iron bull sucks in the hands of the AI, Blackwall is the better warrior to have in your party, maybe he is gone cause of his side quest, if skyhold means something to you, go where hr used to stay and search for a letter
@@FFacuri thanks for the advise. Got Blackwell back even of the bitter taste of his side quest. Somehow managed to kill some dragons, got some nice equipment, now it is more fun. But still tough, how can you guys do so much damage? My crit chance is about 70% my crit damage is only 100% and I do normal damage. Struggle with gamordan stormrider on heavy difficulty...
I get guard through masterwork. Using on hit gain 5 guard. It is a must for Iron bull I think and if you can you can get barrier on hit too, I think Google can help you find that cause I can't remember. Barrier + guard on hit makes iron bull unkillable that's if you're controlling him. I hope that helps
+Mr. Gumball It will help on bosses with armour but that's it. With the earthshaking strike, it's crits to my belief will trigger your passives such as, flow of battle and the fear. So as both fear but ES gives cdr and WH gives armour damage, the best spell would be situational. I hope this helps with your choice though :)
Well for pre-skyhold every mage build is basically the same on nightmare. Have barrier and dispel. energy barrage, fade step and immolate. Or you can take flashfire instead of immolate if you need the cc, cause flashfire will cause fear for around 20 seconds i think. Hope that helps, i may do a 1-15 build type thing in the future but currently got 2-3 weeks of planed videos :)
Necromancer is still my favourite concept, just like blood mage in dragon age 2. But they didn't do necromancer justice in this game. Rift mage is now my favourite to play. Sad times i know xD i just wish i could be involved in developing the necromancer type class for DA:4 cause i have so many good ideas. But yeah rift mage is just overall better to play annoyingly.
It's a hard choice but really is down to what you need. If you feel like you die too much go ice for sure, and if you aren't dying but need damage go fire. Usually of nightmare with trails you go for survival so get barrier dispel and then Ice spells. So usually i'll now go for ice unless you just need damage. Hope that helps :)
Any chance you could do a quick vid for the weapons, armour and accessories for all of your builds? I've seen plenty of builds but barely any show the gear
I use a diferent build, going opposite of two handed tree, investisng a lot on vanguard all the way up to livid, reaver tree maxed out, i use ring of pain a lot and had no big problem on nightmare so far, but i will try this one
Don't stay in the hinterlands for a long time. You still wanna explore and do some quests (make sure you complete the horse quest) in it but don't stay in it forever. Your main objective when starting the game should be to reach skyhold. That way, you can get your specialization and begin to feel powerful
RN? guessing you mean just downloading this game xD I would say for the first time, just play for what makes the game fun for you. Go the most fun class for you, dont focus on nightmare and trials going out hardcore i think doing that straight up will ruin the game. For my first time i played necromancer and took me 80 hours of game time to complete the game, and i loved every second of it :) If you tell me what class you are going i can help make you a guide to follow if you want, otherwise just have fun dude. Hope that helps :)
long time no see starflorge haha, I was curious, why don't you use ring of pain for the reaver build? I only ask cause well, it's only one I've seen without it ha
Because it takes your stamina away and then you will have 0 stamina. I tried making builds with RoP but it just never worked this one, you never run out of stamina and live forever :)
Just seems wrong if i don't message you nowadays haha. Question, Currently playing Reaver Build (Loving it btw!) I Only die if i get too careless and step into a Fire Mine. Anywho, my party composition is currently: Blackwall (Neverending Warrior Build) Vivenne (Knight Enchanter Destruction Build) Varric (The Best Rogue Build) Some changes i had thought of that i wanted your input on: Swapping Vivenne for Dorian using Neverending Mage Build Swapping Varric for Sera Using Tempest OP Build The reason i went with my current set up is because i sided with Templars and so they seem to have best synergy with my choices ha.
Awesome that you love the build dude, and so epic to see you're using all my builds. That will actually be a viable swap, as you still get defense and damage. So by all means go for it, will mean you're changing things up too hopefully making the game funner :)
+StarFlorge I was just a little worried that losing Vivienne would be painful since well, knight enchanter is op ha, and well, varric always seems to get killed....
I mainly take them out of builds, due to their infrequent use and how OP when used they are. All of my builds are suggestions so by all means put focus abilities in them, I just prefer not using them :)
the armour and weapon are teir 4 schematics. The rest I get from dlc content. Not sure where you get them exactly as I have mods to get them when I need. How ever go to dragon age wiki rings and you can find where to get every ring and any other items you need. Hope that helps a bit :)
I thought the reaver was bad but once I found the right playstyle I found the reaver to be pretty op. may not have the damage of a Rogue but testing this, I never died once even v dragons. A build that may of surprised many ppl and the next build coming this week will be a surprise due to my past ideas on the spec coming :)
I play this game a month, lvl 15, nightmare and without potions but no friendlyfire, it's really funny game, just playing reaver Bull and I have no problem revive him even ten times per a one fight :-D with vivien and blackwall, with main mage I am trying to keep enemies in fear or in control but I think I'll get back to play fantastic four mages, it was more tactical and I have no good equipment so they kill me one shot without guard or barrier
Glad you're having a ton of fun playing the game :) With this build if you play Bull you'll never need revive again. 4 mages seems like a cool idea, I might have to try it at some point :)
@@ekkohaze7162 also inquisition perks have 1 more skill to use if you invest points there ;) so you can have 3 more points in total if you play as human.
Combat roll does way too much damage for next to no stamina and a very short cooldown, to the point that it feels stupid to use any other ability. Removed it almost instantly for more enjoyable experience, tool hook with give'em the boot upgrade. Makes a nice combo with mighty blow.
Nope, with it i find you just cant get the right sustain, and with this build you can just. i've tried over and over making builds with RoP but all failed annoyingly :)
Not sure what you mean by keeping up fury, im guessing you mean stamina. Basically Ring of Pain drains stamina too quick to use other spells effectively with it. So yeah as far as reaver builds go i personally don't know any better than this (I've tried a lot) :)
alright thanks a lot! I will definitely give it a try when my level is high enough for Iron Bull he's def one of my fav characters! Appreciate how you're one of the few to still put out content for DA:O! Amazing!
No problem, as i said you can start this build at level 12 and then 14 best with 45% + crit if you can :) I love Dragon Age and wont stop putting out content. Just glad i am doing it for everyone still playing the game.
Playing this build with ring of pain is perfect and put ring of pain in it you are putting yourself down a lot. This build is one of the strongest i have made yet. Watch it, Learn from it and if you leave that thumbs down, i know you have a weak Reaver Build xD honestly it just doesn't help :)
thanks for the video but first, write in title that this build is only in the DLC second, you used many words that I didn't understand like ( CC ),, what is this?? I've seen many build videos but this is the first time I hear it!! in addition, my Devour does not restore 0.8 health, maybe because this is only found in the DLC?? so again,, make the title clear, we don't waste our time watching the build that we can't make!! sorry but Dislike..
No problem, kinda guess most people have the DLC and if not, that you can take the concept away and tinker with the build. CC is also a common term which means Crowd Control and it basically refers to stuns, freezes and anything that stops or slows enemies. Devour has always given health the numbers may of just changed with the DLC. - Shown answer to this in another comment :) Sorry again, but i wont, no one has ever complained about this, and if they dont have the dlc they just ask nicely if there is a no DLC version of the build which i will then always go on to give them one or tips for one. So after this comment i'd rather not waste my time on someone who can't be bothered to just ask so i can then help them. I'm not a huge youtuber which gives me that key feature of replying to every comment. So if you want help with a Non DLC build just ask.....
Note about Devour: it does only restore 0.2% health per 1% missing, and gets x2 when you use ring of pain, look at the whole description. Also the reason mine says 0.4% per 1% missing and 0.8% with ring of pain, is because i have the passive upgrade that doubles the healing. Now it's a new feature that i miss sometimes cause again it's new where the spell description updates dynamically. So only reason mine says that is cause i took the certain upgrade otherwise it will say 0.2% and 0.4%. So yeah that's that solved :)
***** thank you for explaining the CC meaning,, I wrote my comment criticizing something in the video instead of just giving dislike without telling the reason because this will help you know why I gave you the dislike ( it could help you know how others may perceive your video.. simply, my principle ) .. btw,, I didn't get the logic of ( kinda guess most people have the DLC ) Naturally, not all of them will have it!! Right or not Wrong? sorry!! maybe I was harsh in my previous comment, but I saw a hope in the title of video and when I watched it, it disappointed me and that's why my comment was as you see, criticizing rather than asking... Also, I've all the upgrades and my Devour still unable to restore more than 0.4 of health!! thanks for the quick response anyway..
+Darkness Well glad we cleared the first half up :) you're right that not everyone will have the dlc but anyone that doesn't will just take it away and adapt it to make it similar without the dlc upgrades or just ask and then I'll help them problem solved. as this has been the case forever for me I didn't see the need to put it in the title as many people just ask me and well I give them the answer they want, so yeah from my point of view there is no need, but I take on your comment :) As for the devour I'm just confused xD not sure what's going on there it must be something to do with dlc then. Hopefully this solves it but if not keep saying and we'll get to a solution :)
