+James Buschell Artificer was underrated at the start but now many people know it's power. it will always be close to assassin single target damage but never over that it, however the AoE for sure the artificer wins :)

+Paragon yeah reaver is fun for sure, I've struggled making a build that is based on the reaver tree that I find effective though :( anyway good luck though, hope this build is good for you :)

I find that the trick to using reaver effectively is understanding how the Dragon Rage works. AT its base it does 200-300% weapon damage not counting other reaver damage bonuse's which can get quite high. The Dragon rage is based on weapon damage not DPS, as it does not scale with attack speed as it is quite fast already. SO you want to use a very high damage 2h like Maul as it will have the highest base damage. It also ignores types of aoe weapons like 2h swords, as it is already AOE based and quite fast so when using something like a 2H Maul , you get much much more dps then usual as it scales faster with Dragon Rage and its high base damage type of the maul. It also benefits from the inherit aoe that the ability has. Combine with the insane guard bonus that you can achieve and a high amount of crit/crit damage and attack % you can reach just insane hits that can take out mutliple groups of mobs at once. I actually was able to just melt the highland Ravager solo with a Reaver on Nightmare in just under 35 seconds I think. Not as fast a Tempest/Assassin but still quite high considering just how insanely tanky a Reaver can get. Anyway, sorry to ramble, just thought id share my thoughts as I have done quite a bit of research and theorycrafting into reaver as my favorite class to play. I usually play Reaver with Sera and Cole both DW daggers and Solas with infinite mana/Ice/Fire. On Nightmare will pretty much kill anything in game in few seconds.

+Paragon My main problem I have with reaver isn't getting guard or dealing damage it's keep constant damage with no loss of all stamina and not killing myself xD When I'm back home we can talk more cause I really want to make a reaver build and I can't make one yet that I find good enough to make a video on :) one day I know I will.

+Manfred Marschik There was a bug back where you could get an amulet of power loads, i try to make my builds viable for people that couldn't get them by capping my self at like 30 points spent and thats why i always have so many spare points :) however i do believe you can get a mod to put it in a shop, to be able to get them. But all my builds are end game with a realistic amount spent. However if you just want everything and to make what ever you want get mods, it really doesn't make the game so much easier having all the abilities it just allows you to play how you want. One tip for the mines and how I use them, is always use them at the start of the fight and draw mobs too you. this also let's you get the most mines out with the upgrade :) Glad you enjoyed the build.

You know I was thinking of using Varric with DW Daggers and a exact same setup. Not just because he can throw out mines, but He could use Whirling blades with Hidden Blades Procs, which should just make all my cooldowns just instant, even more so then now. Anyway just thought. Btw did you see the link I posted on your other video about the DPS stat weights in game and spreadsheets? Great for min/max and theorycrafting, since you seem to enjoy that kind of thing.

+Paragon well the reason it works best with archer is just cause leaping shot nearly 100% of the time gives you your cds back. Yeah I saw your link and I have seen all those stats, just nice to have them in one place. shame it's not a real calculator that you can put your stats in etc. I might even make that a project of mine in the future cause I would be fun :) Artificer is best used with leaping shot, many ppl use this and you can use grappling hook to make the yo yo build if you wanted.

I'll test it a bit, Whirling blades is nice but has a longer animation. But you don't have to worry about closing distance constantly, but like you said with Grappling hook I think I'll give it a shot. Lose quite bit stats with bow and extra fade touched also, but I'll give it a shot.

When playing artificer archer. Dont worry about stat loss. As long as you have enough crit you're unstoppable. Using Grappling hook is part of the very well know build - The yo yo - That is very very strong xD I have seen good buids for the yo yo build on the forums. I hope it works out for you :)

I found shadow strike not useful in this situation however in testing I did find when I'm unlucky it's very useful. you can change shadow strike if you want just make sure to keep all the sabotage, artifacter and leaping shot part in the build as that is essential :)

+StarFlorge the leaping shot part is essential if you are going with a ranged build that is :)

+Michael Forbes Pre skyhold, i would rush down the left side of sabotage build, getting healing on the poison and getting elusive stacks with toxic cloud, or just go into basic archery or double dagger based on you're build. I will do a double dagger build of this at some point. Also it wouldn't hurt to take stealth early to get out of tough situations. Hope that helps :)

Yeah, self crits do proc Opportunity Knocks. So it still works :)

depends on the spell, but it is a on hit effect therefore means each time damage is done there is a chance to proc. to make it easy each of the 12 projectiles from leaping shot each have a chance to proc the effect even on the same enemy so if you where really lucky 12 hidden blades could be cast xD

hey man! so i just tested it apparently you cant get hidden blades proc more than once at the same time. it has like an internal cooldown. not sure but it seems to proc every 6-8 seconds. i guess this is true for all on proc skills. too bad though :(

If u got the decent dlc you can farm tier 4 spec upgrades for Bianca.

you can only receive the extra effect if you are assassin and because we are not it will cast a normal HB. if you are assassin with the upgrade it will cast an upgraded HB

Is your build based on knew dlc gear.

+Kevin Urquhart Not at all. New dlc gear normal just means you can get more stats to get the crit chance and damage, but you can still get a good amount with old gear. Just get over 55% aim for above 60% crit chance and you'll be good to go :)

+Kevin Urquhart By the toxic clouds if you mean the elusive stacks then no any character can only get 3 elusive stacks no matter how many toxic clouds. Right now this is the only Artificer build but i got many more rogue builds.

well i am using The Skin That Stalks with all of the ring, neck and waist, along with a crit chance ring. And then just max out crit chance and damage on Varrics crossbow. I hope that helps a bit cause it would take me ages to find the save again xD have all 250 saves now :)

Ah ya, that's what I thought. His crossbow can make up for a lot of his missing crit chance/damage. Because I have Prowler armor with max dex, and everything that increases my crit damage and all the passives and you still have more than me. xD I was just confused on how, even with all the passives and armor with more utility slots, you had more lmao. Thanks for that though.

Yeah the crossbow gives you a ton of stats with the right crafted upgrades on it :) glad i could help.

StarFlorge No I don't. Just a full DLC. Anyway, this morning I just found out that Blackwall was the cause of this bug and I don't know why. I picked Cassandra as a tanker instead and my elemental mines aren't floating anymore. Just wanted to share my solution though.

StarFlorge a pleasure, what I did was strip him naked, and respec him. The mines are only floating half of the time but I figured I'd just pick Cass instead. Oh, nice guide by the way, rogue artificer is a very fun class to play!

You can make a variation of it, but it wont be as good. A lot of the spell upgrades i take are from the dlc. But the base mechanic is still there i think. This might help though: Go to google and serch "dragon age inquisition yoyo build" i think that will be more effective without dlc. I hope this helped :)

+ohsean Late game artificer is much better in my eyes as you can perma spam spells with the right gear, but tempest better early and falls off late game. Depends what you're going for but hope that helps :)

I've play this recently and found no problems however i should do some more testing to make sure it is still 100% viable so i cannot say right now i know this still works for everyone. One thing you should do it save the game right now, keep note of that save go into one spec for about 2 hours and then make your mind up if you want to keep going, that's probably the best advice :)

Just ensure that the 1 mage in the party goes full support, barrier, revival and then lots of CC. And you should be fine as this build will deal tons of damage and basically won't die :)

@@StarFlorge Okay so just run the Knight Enchanter and place anyone else in the fourth spot (as far as I'm understanding). I'll be starting up my rogue later today. I think I'll replace the rift mage with Iron Bull.

@@Potemkin4U if you can put another mage in the party id do so to get more CC, but I don't think Iron bull would be good as he is bad when controlled by AI. Cassandra would be a great edition as she can be an off tank and really help you kill demons! I think if suggest Cass as the last spot.

Yeah it is hard to have fun as low level you just auto attack all the time XD I would probably say get leaping shot with stealth upgrade, stealth itself and then evade with shadow step. I know there isn't much damage, but at least it's easy to stay alive and jump everywhere for a bit of fun :) I hope that helps you out a bit. When I'm back from holiday I'll be making low level guides :)

Jake Norman I believe it is the stone stalker armor schematic from Descent. He likes the Descent armor schematics a lot. While the helmets are the almost undisputed best helmets in the game, I prefer the superior battlemage, prowler and battlemaster armors/mails/coats to any of the Descent body armors. These can be obtained from various vendors in the game (a quick wiki search will tell you where), and they can provide the same or higher stats with higher armor rating, all while being customizable with installable gauntlets and leggings. The only down side is the need for tier 3 gauntlet and legging schematics as well. IMO, still worth

Elemental mines still deal 175% damage on console. The 50% is just the fire damage per second of the fire mines.

Varric should have artifacter if not then I'm sorry I can't help on that however the 2 upgrades you can get is from the new trespasser dlc. hope I helped a bit :)

+Marcus Carvalho Another thing for if you dont have to extra upgrades, after reinstalling save your game and go into the trespasser dlc and do some of the first quests, this will unlock the extra upgrades if you do not have them. then you can go back to your save and it should be working fine :)

+StarFlorge i downloaded again and is not working. i think is something with my sync i coudnt sync my game with the dragonagekeep site. ill try to fix that tomorrow. i think thats the problem. probably i didnt sync and the have doesn't recognise all the dlcs.

Your problem probably was the fact that you didn't take Varric as a party member after going to Skyhold and receiving the specialization. Anyway this was long ago, hope it's fixed.

I made a recent video on infinite ability points you can find out there, but it's with mods :)

This build is best made when you are a high level. But I would say go for leaping shot first, then everything I take in the Artificer tree and then the sabotage tree and then finish the build. hope that helps :)

+Keiz Hardy Well you don't need the set, you basically just have to have around 45% + crit chance. As long as you have that you're okay, so no need for a NG :)

+Fernando Lopez Yes, all fights on my new build are all nightmare, and this is a great build for nightmare. This has to be one of the if not the most op class in the game. Nightmare is best done with a great party of 4 and my build coming out in a second is an amazing rift mage build for nightmare play. But to simply answer your question. Yes :) hope this helps

for this exact build a lot around 30 i think but that's cause i went over kill xD you can get rid of shadow strike, and hook and tackle to give you the points you need. then you'd only need about 23/22 for the build, but to get all the cooldowns refresh working you only need opertunity works, mines with throw everything and leaping shot. Hope that helps a bit :)
