You have to understand the sport beyond what the media writes, the announcers say, and fan boys post. The last part - Fury isn't a serious fighter - is closer to the truth. He can box, he can fight, he's smart and he's got heart, but he's a very average, very ordinary fighter who crafted the illusion of greatness. His team did this through heavy self-promotion, big loud talk, slight exaggeration of his size (he's really 6'7, but now people associate "6-9" with Fury and he created this false illusion of biggest/best/most evolved), and lastly very careful cherry picking of sub par opponents. For the last one, you need to know Wilder can't really fight and has a worse resume than Fury (and Fury was his cherry pick gone wrong). That's the stuff Usyk means. Not that he's like Wilder and can't really box, but that's the stuff he means. No, lol, Fury isn't in Usyk 's head. The man was born in the days of the former Soviet Union and raised in Ukraine. He fought over 350 amateur fights and won most of them. But Fury isn't in Usyk 's head.
