Creating printable drawings or plans in Fusion is possible with their 2D drawing tools. You can include 2D, orthographic 3D, even exploded views of your model - all without leaving Fusion 360! This tutorial walks you through using the tools and some of the workflow of creating drawings in Fusion.

Creating Cut Lists:
This video does NOT cover cut lists, but I know some viewers asked specifically about them. First the bad news: as of the publishing of this video, a cut list feature is not built into Fusion. However, you can use a free Add-in called CSV-BOM to create cut lists fairly easily.
Full instructions and the download are available on Github: github.com/macmanpb/CSV-BOM#i... or you can visit the Autodesk App Store instead: apps.autodesk.com/FUSION/en/D...
There are a lot of options, but I’d suggest using “Sort dimensions” so the shapes are treated like planks of wood. Additionally, you may want it to turn off “Ignore visible state" or turn on “Selected only” so you have control over what is exported.

In this series I'll be covering how to model a number of woodworking techniques in Fusion.
* Part One: • Fusion 360 for Woodwor... - Modeling the box, bottom, and lid. Covers rabbets, grooves and miters.
* Part Two: • Fusion 360 for Woodwor... - Adding splines to reinforce the miters, modeling the thumb grip, and making the lid open and close.
* Part Three: • Photorealistic Renders... - Applying wood materials, selecting the best grain, and photorealistic rendering
* Part Four (This Video): Creating printable plans from the model

Just taking the time to say I appreciate the work you put into this series. I was curious about fusion for woodworking after having toyed with Sketchup and all other tutorials are way too slow in pace with not nearly as much information as you give here. Thank you for putting these out! Also subscribing in the hopes to see more of your work! Maybe more details on cut lists, on a series on modeling different joinery? Cheers!

This video series was the most useful I’ve found on RU-vid so far for Fusion 360. Thank you!

Well done! A great project that shows a complete woodworking focused workflow from idea to plans. Hopefully next will be the construction video :-)

These tutorials were awesome. Thanks for making them. There are a lot of good f360 tutorials out there, but so many of them focus on product design or engineering, where there are a small number of components that have a lot of complex features. Woodworking projects generally use a larger number of simpler components, and your videos had some excellent tips for working in this way. Also, i had no idea that there were those awesome customisable 3d wood textures. Really impressive... Your channel is excellent. Great projects and very high production values. Well done.

Hey Trev! I’m so glad you enjoyed the series! I really appreciate you taking the time to leave such an encouraging comment too. Seeing an idea come to “life” in a Fusion render is such a great feeling. That’s a great observation about the difference between F360 for engineering vs woodworking. I hadn’t thought of that before. If you end up posting any of your renders online I’d love to see them! Best of luck and thanks again!

This has been a thoroughly useful video on Fusion 360 for wood workers, taking from scratch to shop drawings has been very educational. I am switching from years on Sketchup to Fusion 360 and this was an excellent tutorial to get me started.

Liked-Subscribed-Notified! Love your approach, love the woodworking project - learned a lot, too (and I've been using Fusion for a year or so). You are a naturally born good instructor! Please keep posting videos like this!

Your series of tutorials has brought me up to speed in Fusion very quickly. Thanks a lot! I don't like most of the tutorials I start to watch on RU-vid these days as there is so much bloat stuff all around in the videos. People telling you their whole live in huge introductions and stuff^^ But this was very nice to watch. I only got into Fusion because the free version can produce really nice looking plans which is what I want. I used SketchUp Make 2017 before and really liked it and I was hesitant to learn a new Software because I just started learning SketchUp a few days ago. But you made this process much more enjoyable and you covered all the points which are important to me. Now I like Fusion even more than SketchUp as it is much more thought through IMO. As an example the user defined variables are very intuitive for me as a software developer and helped a lot when discovering, that your whole model has to change because you can't get that particular piece of wood in that width or thickness you imagined (yes, this just happend to me^^). So thanks again for this great tutorial mini-series!

Has numerous details in this woodwork book *TopFineWoodworking. Com* . The book also displays several designs and descriptions on the materials used for various woodworking processes and also the guidelines on completing various procedures appropriately. In other words, I`m happy using this book, especially in the process of learning about wood working.?

AWESOME, been waiting on part 4. The first few really inspired me to finally sit down and learn Fusion and it's been a great bump to my business to send out photo renders of bids.

WOW, this was a great series. I’ve been using fusion for a couple of years now, but I learned so much in the last hour or so watching all 4 videos in this series. Thanks a lot!!

Awesome tutorial. Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I have successfully recreated your Pencil Box in Fusion 360. I will say this is way easier to use than Sketchup. I am not nearly as frustrated.

I believed I've watched this whole series 2-3 times now. So great! Would love to see follow up videos design other items. I can't seem to get my projects to look as realistic as yours though. Object still looks blurry or out of place.

Your videos on this pencil box are excellent and just what I was looking for my box making adventure. Being somewhat familiar with Fusion I'm OK with what you've covered but would like to use my CNC router to build this box, as much as possible. Thats where I'm mostly concerned. Peter

Thanks for lessons. I'm a fraction guy not decimals 1/4 vs .25. is there a way for fusion 360 to show fractional instead of decimals? Thanks
