I almost always work with the edges of trimmed surfaces instead of intersection curves. The curvature combs of intersection curves almost always show broken curvature.

This is interesting information. I have always thought that extrapolating surfaces and intersection curve produce the same result. I have not used curvature combs to analyse the curves before.
