Fusion360 Modelling & Drawing Tutorial 3 - Centre Punch

G'day Bosbulls. Welcome to my channel and thanks for watching and commenting. May I commend you for learning CAD and for modelling your project before making it. Now doubt that you've probably worked out that I'm a high school shop teacher. I try hard to install this philosophy into my students "model it before making it". As for technical drawings, its really defined by which country you live in. For example, in Australia our technical drawings must meet Australian Standards AS1100.101-1992. I am by no means a qualified draftsman, as that's a trade / profession in its own right. Like you, I was taught drawings at high school, but did more at trade school and CAD at university for my teacher training. The reason I started doing CAD tutorials again was to help my high school students. We are in lock down again and it's impossible to teach CAD over Zoom. Hopefully this will get them over the line. G’day Nigel. It’s nice to hear from you mate. Trust you’re traveling well during all this craziness down here in the Covid State? Yes, I’ve been pumping the video tutorials out to assist my high school engineering students to complete their CAD unit via remote learning. I’m not trying to creat professional draftsman, this is an introduction to CAD etc… hopefully these tutorials get them over the line. Teaching CAD remotely via zoom is nearly impossible 🤦‍♂️. @@DCT_Aaron_Engineering Not impossible, just a little slower and I reckon even I could follow it. Tutorial is run as if they already have some awareness of Fusion, which I assume they do? You do this quite well, have you thought about a teaching career? LOL

G'day Kevin. Yes that is correct mate. I design in the model workspace and then switch over to the CAM workspace. I apply tool paths (with the correct rpm and feed rates) and then post process the code. Transfer with a nerd stick into the controller and push the green "go fast button". Of course you still need to tell fusion the G54 co-ordinate position. Do you have a simple part that you would like me to make and demonstrate for you? Feel free to send me an email mate.
