Great video, I've just done exactly this to my front fence posts, bottom 650mm had 2 coats of bitumen, and 3 bags of postcrete per post. Quick question do you bring the concrete haunching upto or above ground level or leave it just below ground level and back fill with soil, I have approximately 80mm between the top of my postcrete and ground level. 👍
Post savers are a more simple way of doing this with no mess, and they're bitumen based I believe. 99p each and guarantee wooden fence posts for 20 years. Nice
I've recently installed a fence with roof battons thanks to your videos. Can you tell me what's best to put on them now it's up. Is it better to stain it with a colour or to put oil on it.
Great as ecer pal. Out of interest the post holes. Do they need to be so big? Ive got a some fencing to do over the next few weeks. Gonna use 4x4 posts. What sort of post hole size would you recommend?
No need to go so big with the holes.. we pulled out an old fence n they had used heaps of concrete, left us with huge holes.. I'd say aim for approximately 200 x 200mm holes for a 100mm post 👌⚒️
