Great video! Very candid and authentic 👍 I’ve been with M8 for last 6 months on Percept 100 @ 46 lbs. It’s predictable performance (good balance of control & power) and tension maintenance are the key traits that I love about them.

I recently strung my head TGT 344.4 (Gravity pro with a lower weight) with Sniper on the mains and M8 in the cross. It is a great set up! Very pleasant feeling with a great confidence!

Tour M8 is like a hidden gem… no one I play with has even heard of it. It’s the closest thing to a perfect string of anything that I have played with

Great video! Good for Ale! I want to say that I'm surprised how similar I felt about Tour Sniper. I also love confidential and from reviews I thought TS and Confi would be similar, but Tour Sniper required to be focused 100% of the points and play with absolutely perfect technique, which at my rec level it is simply not possible. Very demanding string with no feel, any of those slow motion shots were not crossing the net lol I tried M8 as a cross, but I need to do that full bed soon!

One word: Toroline I order them in EU and wait one month for a delivery but boy I am so onboard, the hybrid Caviar main and Toro Toro crosses or Wasabi X cross is amazing. Control, spin, flat shots, durability and just enough power to keep it deep are the best I've ever experienced. I've tested m8 and sniper but found it too muted and under powered. But I also improved my footwork a lot in last 6 months so it could reap better experience for me currently.

M8 is an awesome string. Really comfortable and crisp feeling at low tension (20Kg). The spin is good but not great so I tried a hybrid with Restring 0 and Hyper G on the mains. Both awesome combinations, you get the spin from the shaped string and the control and ball pocketing from M8. I think I will try also game changer on the mains with M8 crosses and then decide the best combo for me.

What is the correlation between dynamic tension and the actual string tension?

Dynamic helps you account for variations in inputs, as well as tension maintenance. So me stringing on my electronic machine is going to yield a higher DT than a new stringer on a crank, but probably lower than a tour stringer on a pro machine. Also helps track tension loss over time.

Pretty diff I'd say. Much more bite on LT, but it feels more dead, more firm and crisp, M8 is more forgiving, has more snapback and ball pocketing.

based on the footage on how she hits and considering she still plays with the blade 2019 percept 97D- hawk touch + hyper g round (52lbs) cx 200 (+8g 12oclock)/cx400tour - m8/lynx tour/silver 7 tour (48lbs) prostaff 95 - m8/enso pro (50lbs) would be the ones I would let her try

Beckett, what m8 gauge do you prefer, 1.30mm like Ale, or the 1.25 mm? I know it depends what racket you use, but in general? Great vid btw!

1.25mm in my 18x20 but I'd go to 1.30mm in a lot of 16x19s. Her Blades are pretty dense 16x19s though so I'd prob stick with 1.25mm for that frame were I to use it.

For some reason Grapplesnake is not sold in Europe, it seems. The two biggest shops Tennis Warehouse Europe and Tennis Point don't carry it. I never understand sales strategies like that, I'd think a company would want to sell their products in as many markets and countries as possible!

Ale used Ex Purp for a bit when she was on tour but we were happy with the playability and durability. Plus just is only a shaped version so we aren't really interested.

I would not recommend any version of Excellent Purple. I just don't think it plays well. I'd way rather use something like Alpha if you like a mild shape and want a softer feel with excellent control and decent power.

They are very good IMO, but not so good that it would be worth paying mega shipping bucks to bring them to Aus. I think they are worth the premium over Solinco if the shipping costs aren't a big deal because they feel better and last longer IMO, but not like 2x better, so I wouldn't pay 2x the price.

Just to defend Alpha for a second, if you're used to soft polys or looking for soft polys, I think you won't find anything more predictable.

@@TennCom I think I can understand if someone is coming from playing Confidential exclusively, playing an elastic string like Alpha will be a lot to adjust to. It’s a lot of elasticity to account for. But that elasticity behaves very predictably through its life.

It is not fake. We aren't misleading anyone here. Clearly stated in the video that we are testing the strings we are selling. The "sponsored content" box was checked prior to publishing, however, that was because the video was sponsored by Direct Tennis. There should have been a notice generated by RU-vid that popped up for you at the beginning of the video. No money was received by Grapplesnake to produce this video, and no money has ever been received from them in the past for specific pieces of content. We do collect commissions through affiliate sales which we are also transparent about.
