extremely unique sound, wow. actually reminds me slightly of the wasp filter. also, i hope these TG modules bring more attention to throbbing gristle!

Great demo! I had the pleasure of chatting briefly with Finlay and Roy at Synthfest. They're lovely chaps. The TG3 sounds awesome. Can't wait to get one in my rack. :)

Seeing a couple comparisons to the Wasp, but at least on lower Register settings I’m thinking it sounds much more like an RK4

If you had money only to pick either TG3 or TG4, which one would be a better pick? Is TG3 capable of getting into the territory of TG4 plus a filter capabilities? thanks Ben

Great review and great sounding module! Thanks. I see you manually manipulate this module and say, why no CV on the other parameters!!! only frequency!!!! Do you think that having cv over resonance, register and drive is an important miss? or not that necessary?

the resonance on this is insanely shrill almost immediately. it's a piercing scream basically anywhere past 2/10. I noticed that not one of the demo patches use the resonance past 2/10, and most it is at 0/10, and when it does go higher you hear the horrible screech. There's a great reason for this- its horribly shrill past that setting. Overall, my opinion is the resonance on this is barely useable. The manual says "soft clipping at the output tames the (resonance) self-oscillation in a smooth and symmetrical manner..." Maybe on a scope, but to the ears this thing is like a shrieking cat. it's overall ugly and harsh adding barely any resonance at all. Patch nothing into it and turn everything down, as you turn up resonance only, it shrieks as you pass 1/10 on the knob. It's rather ugly and harsh. I'm thinking the WASP is a much more useable BP filter with more opportunities for useable sounds with gritty character. And I love Throbbing Gristle. I barely hear these shrill resonant tones in their music, and I have heard pretty much everything they've released including the 24 hr live cassettes...
