Something I noticed about both of my Sports. They like a clean barrel. Pull two patches through every 100 shots or so and it just stacks pellet on top of pellet
FWD is my favorite and my go-to rifle for everything, but mostly for distance. It is a beautiful work of engineering. I still find it at AOA for sale. Thank you for sharing, and always fantastic video!
What a beautfiul rifle (Never heard of a Feinwerkbau before)...and great shooting as always Kevin I announced to my wife last night "Oooh, fine day tomorrow!...Im doing some shooting!!😁" ...so yeah, naturally its p....ing down today 😂 So a huge thank you for posting and sharing with us Kevin...it really does help fill the void when we miss our weekend 'plink' 🥰 -Kia kaha
Dear Kevin Thank you for your video. I don't think that version of the FWB sport ever made it to the UK. Shame really cos it seems like a nice rifle. Regards
My old 124D has been shot many thousands of times, and it`s smoothness has to be felt to be believed. When reasonably clean, it is still a one hole shooter. It still looks like it hasn`t been shot at all.
I have seen these Feinwerkbau rifles listed by a Canadian Air Gun dealer previously, but now notice that this maker has been removed from their listings of air rifles. Seems to be a real pity from what I see here Kevin. Pretty fair grouping from a spring type air rifle. I wish now I could have had the chance to buy one.
I dont think the pellet climb was down to you or the pellets, most likely down to the grease warm up, remember continuous shooting also warms the spring and the seal. Anyway I thought you and the gun did good, Very fast lock time not to be sneezed at. Some interesting auctions coming up you guys over the pond should take a look.
The late model FWB Sport comes in at 8.2 lbs. The FWB 124 was 6.8 lbs. more in line with the HW50S but the power level is more in line with the HW95K. Honestly the FWB124 is easier to work on and handles far better in the field. 😉👍 The FWB127 in .22 is still to this Very Day one of the single Best hunting Springers EVER MADE ! Naturally you already own a .22 HW95K So unless an FWB 127 just falls into your lap You're already Golden. 🤷🏼♂️ A properly tuned 124/127 is in my opinion a much smoother and marginally lighter rifle, but the 95 has a much better trigger, and I doubt your taken in by esoterics like tuning and smoothness... 😕
Beautiful Rifle. Question for you. What scope are you using? I have a Beeman R1 circa mid 80's that needs a good optic. I have an original 68R in 4x-12x that came apart internally. I'm looking for a good scope capable of withstanding the recoil/
I agree for scope failing. I have a HW98 177. 19joules, I can`t find a scope for it. All moves. I`ve essay mainly Hawkes, but an element Helix too. The facts are shifting of POI in in vertical line, downward direcction. Now is at 16 joules, but still giving problems .The same shifting with a hawke 8-32x50.
Hello, I am allmost sure that all my problems with my HW 98 come from the barrel drop, that is quite evident, all the scopes I mounted on it had to be adjusted by the vertical turret, near to the top end. May be this is the problem with yours. Thank you for your beautiful videos. Cheers @@razor1962
@@user-hr8eb9rx6nThe Diana Bullseye ZR Mount both gets you past the recoil issues, and actually is a drooped mount, but it is a High... Long... Mount ! 😳
The Beeman 68R IS a genuine Hakko scope, and can still be repaired but not under warranty... 🤷🏼♂️ The lenses are Japanese ED glass, and the scope does retain a collectible value. 😉👍
@@razor1962 The heavily contoured ambidextrous stock would likely require a full 10/4 blank, and there's some pretty elaborate detail work. The Bespoke design was a Specific one off for FWB, and that all costs REAL Money ! 🤑 Minelli hires some of the finest Craftsmen in the world and provides them with the finest Equipment and Materials ! 😉👍 Quality is no more accident at Minelli... ☝️🤨
Folks tend to only ever see Half of this equation... 🤦🏼♂️ YES... You want the threads to stick (Use either Vibra-Tite VC3 or Blue Loctite) "BUT" You also want the head of the screw to slip freely in the stock, otherwise it binds in the stock and twists back out with every subsequent recoil ! 😉 So try to grease the underside of the head of the screw and use either Delrin washers or brass screw cups in the stock itself... 😉👍 You can find Delrin inserts on the Air Rifle Headquarters FWB 124 Page. These will also fit Weihrauchs and many other Springers! 👌☺️ HTH Prof M
I 'm trying to decide if to get one of these from AOA but $695 is a lot of dough. Does this rifle have any plastic parts on it? And thanks for the video.
I think I'd split the difference and get an HW95 Field Pro, and still have money left for a decent tune kit ? 🤔 It takes allot more work to bring the FWB Sport up to that level of performance and it only comes in .177... 🤷🏼♂️
@@marcmyers1465 I have a HW95 and a R9, always wanted a FWB 124 but hearing the new one has a plastic trigger guard has turned me off. Especially for 700 clams.
@@whiskeykilmer1866It takes a bit of work to get the FWB 120 triggers to the same sensitivity as the Rekord trigger, and about $150.00 in after market parts. You can bring the stock trigger very close, but it takes time and quite a bit of fiddling. The primary Charm of the 120's is the Accuracy, Weight, Handling, and No Small amount of Superior Engineering on the part of Feinwerkbau... 😳 When a 50 year old format can go head to head with it's modern contemporaries after a full 50 years of wear and tear... Well, that's just IN YOUR FACE Precision Engineering ! 😁👍 The Balance, Handling and Power to Weight ratio have always been the high water mark of every Sport Springer to ever follow suit... 🤷🏼♂️ The HW95K and Late model HW50S come the closest. The main difference of the Field Pro is the true carbine barrel ! 😉 That changes up the length, weight and balance, and that barrel weight is threaded on with standard fittings allowing you to augment a proper moderator. 😊 Naturally a clever sort could simply order the barrel to bring their 95 to the same configuration, but for the same price difference you are getting a Weihrauch scope, mounts, and premium muzzle weight that can be discreetly switched whenever it suits you.🤔 It's Allot harder for "Most" folks to tune the late model FWB Sport to put the stem on the Apple 🍎 like Kevin did, and I personally wouldn't wager on the results, but there are a Million and Six ways to tune an FWB 120 Series these days ! 😉👍
Marc's right. Those are BKLs. Also, note the scope stop behind the front ring. I had a hard time with scope creep on that rifle. There's a gouge in the receiver to prove it. Still makes me sick to my stomach. To think of that glaring blemish on an otherwise flawless rifle.
@@TallCoolOne51Recommend either the Drooped BKL Mounts or the Diana ZR Mount. 😉👍 Scope wise, the shorter the better... FWB's can be hard on scopes ! 🤷🏼♂️
