How did you lock the engine during damper disassembly and reassembly? Looking forward to do this job on my e61.

There are few options. 1. Use BMW special tool for locking flywheel codes 118183 and 118182. 2. Use old serpantine belt to lock vibration damper (Lots of examples in RU-vid) 3. Use flywheel locking tool through special access point in TDC position, locking pin from engine timimg tool. In my case I locked flywheel through timing posotion, assuming that M57 engine is made from thicker materials and locking pins ae also thick enough and will handle the loads. But is your own risk. Always use special tools to be 100% sure not to damage anything.
