its doable in 10 (maybe even 9) with all the right stuff (max qc max main saver lots of range good homing good main damage) if you just spawn and then immediately shoot it like 10 times in a row without needing to pause
Crazy! One thought: Wouldn't it be faster in the final fight to unequip the jump before dying? Maybe it would be a bigger time safe than the early-key-thing?

Gotta love when I don’t know speedrunners have a mic on and then they scare the shit out of me halfway in. Anyways this is the most impressive thing I’ve ever seen. And the craziest thing about it is like, it wasn’t even perfect. There were bits where you were like “that was bad” like there’s a potential to get lower than this. That’s insane. Congrats mate. Incredible work
realistically i would only be able to save like 15 more seconds on this route (5s on floor 14, 3s on 24, then a few 1s saves in some other floors, then maybe if smollusk death strats get optimised more then maybe more than that), if i wanted to go any lower i'd have to reroute the entire seed to find a better path or find a new seed entirely which i dont really want to do so im going to let this run sit for a bit and wait for a seed solver to be made (which is a when, not an if)
@@julesnolastnamegiven6830 there arent really any reactions there its just muscle memory, in the cage i hold down ZR and pre-aim towards the first fish, as soon as i drop i release ZR to kill the first fish then flick and shoot the other one
@@starrydropzzz i mean it helps that it's the same game just a different format... like if i know where the fish are, i have the muscle memory from playing splatoon for hundreds of hours to know how far i need to flick between them
Imagine telling someone a year ago that you could beat Side Order in 3 minutes and then you give no further context... They would either be impressed or disappointed
yeah it pauses the timer when you die and starts it again when you leave the start cage, means you dont have to spend ingame time waiting for the portals to spawn
I think they're doing both! Sometimes they reset for stages, since zones and turbine are by far the slowest levels! Zones is of course time locked and no matter how much you shoot at the turbine it's still gonna be slow so I'd say resetting until you get a good stage. And I also see them looking for specific chips because there are times where they skip over portal, 8ball and speedy fish things (I forgot the name..) levels as well :)
Does the time stop when you jump off the stage or is it just quicker than waiting? Just need some clarification as i didn't really understand your strategy 🤔
yeah it pauses as soon as you die and only starts again when you drop out of the start cage, it means you dont have to spend time waiting for the portals to spawn
I knew from day one that speedruns are about to go NUTS for Side Order, and this is proof of that 💀 Also, what do the intentional deaths during the final boss do? Does it skip certain triggers for the battle to save time, or something else?
important info is that you only need to shoot the 3 lit up layers on the boss for it to die (layers 3, 6 and 9) 1) get lucky with the directions that the 3 lit up layers face, you want at least 2 layers facing you 2) shoot 2 of the lit up layers, if you have a choice then do the bigger ones first 3) rotator will always spin now so you are forced to wait, the weakpoints will usually end up nearish to where they were before the spin 4) shoot the last layer 5) try to have your armour broken so you can glide to where the key spawns and dont have to wait for it to fall enough to grab it 6) win
Bro like the music like when you finish the level takes up to five sec so all of the floors are approximately 1:15 seconds but like with the vening machine floor I would say it is around 50 or 40 seconds
Something I may be completely wrong about: why don’t runners use splat ink recovery? I find it very broken, although it takes a bit to get to that point.
splat ink recovery is fine and runners do take it on charger its just kind of unnecessary if you get max ISM because if you never make mistakes with wasted shots then you will never run out of ink while you need it
no becuase theres 3 boss floors and you cant get vending on floor 1 so actually it would only be 26 floors :nerd emoji: but fr it wouldnt be faster because you need chips to beat bosses quickly and to get chips from vending machines you need a lot of membux which you only get from beating levels
@@PickPig so like the best possible seed would be like only fish levels, on good maps with good chips for the first 15 floors or so. Then both bosses be the tower thing, and the rest of the levels would be vending machines? (also gg on the wr. very impressive)
everything apart from the drone ones because they add chips into the pool that arent helpful so turning them off increases the chance of getting good chips
