The shorts were written and made by fans, with a small cash donation from Fox after a script contest. Noah Halley is a great filmmaker, who I am sure will produce something very entertaining. I just wonder if this project will make any references to Prometheus
@@MrFeeny911 They're passable Sci-fi, but as an Alien Origin Story, they suck ãss. Diddley nuked the setting for an Ancient Alien Architecs History Channel Run-of-the-mill Passé Premise.
Yeah... if its aliens on earth, you just signed this for failure. Colonial marines in space is the only answer, why can't developers just get out of their own way.
EXACTLY! Aliens are a space lifeform it's literally in the name!!! On earth it just becomes an average monster film/series. They had endless possibilities but always chose the most boring.
We've seen Xenos on earth before, and it didn't go particularly well, but I suppose everyone deserves a chance to be a director if they've earned it. The only things is, though, how are they going to pretend that the Xenomorph species is completely unknown in Alien if they've spent any amount of time on earth? I hope they don't retcon common sense.
Alien is deeply tied to the works of H.R Geiger, and that aesthetic whether people realize it or not, is what gives so much character. Setting it on earth, how will that even be possible?
Amazing, i made this suggestion to ridley scott social media few years ago, i did not belive it was actually read, my motive was not to mess with the movies and go full focus on android over alien tho.
I really do hope this is gonna be good. My ONLY quibble with this TV series, would be "TIMELINE" if stays true to Alien CANON, then setting it on Earth (yes nice touch, finally, vs Weyland Yautani as the megacorp hellbent on immortality, again nice touch ) is only overshadowed by the fact EVERYONE on planet Earth would have known about the Alien(s) by now,? You don't just have Alien(s) running amok on your Homeworld, without somebody noticing, no matter HOW good Weyland is at covering stuff up. Just a thought, and one I hope the production crew has remembered.
Dont say they're ignoring Prometheus because this just seems like a retcon/reimaging of it. If anything they are actively trying to replace those two films since they fuked up the timeline among other things. Having the egotistical Ridley Scott on set isnt that promising either considering he started the downfall of his own creation... Can we get a proper god-damned sequel for once???
Yeah for real. So many words that are problematic such as prequel, earth, and synthetic but his name instantly killed any hype I had. Personally a remake/faithful thing is something I don't think many fans like myself want because that's not new. They are pandering to a newer audience off the bat sadly.
After this series a Predator series is a must, where predators gather a team of human elite hunters and predators joining togheder to destroy Alien Prime, the xenomorphe homeworld, and only one survivor to emerge victorios, ofc a human, i will watch that for sure
I'm more excited for this Alien Tv Series than Alien Romulus. Given how heavily influenced Ridley Scott has on Romulus. I dont believe that, given his terrible Retcon stories with Prometheus/Covenant, Scott won't let his Robot Obsessions go away. Nor give the Aliens there Proper Story.
@@deejaytubbster8983there's a comic that confirmed both avp movies are canon, they basically just pulled a MIB and erased the memory of it from everyone's minds, but the yautja do canonically exist alongside the xenos
Keeping my expectations low for this. Some people enjoy Hawley's work but I find it underwhelming. I've never been interested in an Alien story on earth either, I think the IP is geared towards the kind of horror you get from a claustrophobic setting.
There is absolutely no need to set this series on Earth, (it’s just cheaper to film). The Aliens mystery is that its point of origin is unknown, its reason for existence is unknown, (ignoring Covenant for a moment). ‘Something never before recorded in over hundreds of surveyed worlds’ that wasn’t just being said for Van Buren’s benefit. Some secret, 1 special unit soldier, 1 South American revolutionary, 1 LA Cop, the surviving population of a Scandinavian town and associated military all know of its existence. To keep the mystery and if your determined to ignore AVP as canon, simply keep it in space and stop with the Wayland Yutani back story and go into the Aliens back story….be brave.
You know what would be unique- since every f’king franchise in the world is replacing male leads with strong female leads 🙄, why not replace the traditional female lead in Alien with a male lead for a change? All I see is a show that probably breaks canon, seems ridiculously “diverse” and probably frontloads the ESG and social justice message above all else. I’m also calling it now- season one will be a conspiracy thriller and there will not be a single xenomorph until the very last scene of the last episode of season one.
I really hate it when they remake good old movies and turn them into garbage. I'll give it a chance. Just don't expect good reviews from me just based on my feelings to the first two movies and the Alien Isolation game.
This sounds dreadful. This, combined with a movie featurng P.W.B is going to kill the franchise. It was already in serious trouble following 2 very poloarising movies that split the fanbase. I don't see how a series about synthetic/ hunman hybrids fits into the Alien universe,.
Well, for me ALIEN franchise always has been a claustrophobic movie, be it on small ship, large ship, small territory, bigger territory. Sending this to Earth makes me think it will go down the AvP path and will be listed as a trash, just like Resurrection and everything after it.
Inequality BS??? So it's going to be woke and have the message. And I don't want it on earth. It's supposed to be about a space creature in space like another planet. And obviously no suspense of the aliens going crazy on earth because obviously it doesn't happen or they would have been known about by the the crew in Alien and Aliens, etc. Seriously worried about this. still hopeful about the next movie.
movies and tv shows aren't good anymore. The only place to get good content now is games. Alien: Isolation was a better production than all of the sequels starting at 3.
@@frankthecat1660 exactly. Still, I kind of liked Scar and the process of him rising from Young Blood to Blooded, the lore of burning themselves with acid blood and finding a human worthy of the same. It could have all been done better. I wouldn't mind this new 20th century studios taking another bite at the apple crossing these two franchises over. We've seen Prey and if Romulus is good, we know they can make good Alien and Predator movies. Why not a proper crossover with no clashing lore etc?
Why don't these movies and now tv show, mix things up, like the comics? I'm tired of the same old protagonist - it's played the heck out, and right off the bat you know who isn't getting killed. I'm already disinterested.
The last like 3 or so movies didn't have the same main characters and most of the characters died in most of the most recent ones, they literally killed Mr Weyland in one of them, literally killed off an extremely important character who funded everything in the movies, yes 1-4 all have the same main character but not ever movie does
@StarFreighterPilotGothJesus lol, I'm not talking about Weaver, she was a natural. I'm talking about the 'type' attempts since then. They're just rehashing the same thing, and much lesser quality at that! I liked Sanaa Lathan, but that was it. I've hated every Predator movie after the second one, but at least they mixed things up. Plus, I like how they killed Ripley in the third Alien - surprise me!
Too bad it takes place on Earth! Well the Alien (Ridley Scott) and Aliens (James Cameron), hopefully Ridley Scott will now follow the franchise.....not like that absurd disaster flop film Alien Covenant!!!!
