I totally agree with you that a barrel band would be a very good addition, especially for those of us who hunt in rough conditions. FX do a barrel band but you would need to take off the shroud to make it fit.
Thx for your time and effort to post this vid,i myself own and tune pcp airrifles to,since you mentioned the waterjet,i take it you are a metalworker, here's a tip for your hamerspring tensioner,if you get it all out, you'll see it has a cup on the inside where the hammerspring wil sit, make a sturdyer one on the lathe in brass with the cup 1-2 mm shallower and machine the thread so it fits with a slight catch so it wont turn loose on it's own (no teflon or thredlock needed this way) i recomend you not to use some kind of spacer since that could come loose inside your block and cause major damage to your hammer/valve setup and render your gun completely inoperable...also,i know FX adverts the regulator to be able to tune with the pressure on,still i'd advise you to let all the air out to tune the regulator...it may be more cumbersome and need several attempts to get to the right pressure(wich depends on the weight of your chosen projectile and the lenght of the barrel)...but a bit of lost air will cost less then a new regulator...
barrelband ... i bought a rubbertube innerdiameter 20mm with 1.5 mm wall. fits the barrel Nice and snug and fils the grap between barrel and airtube. keeps it from moving much. but still free floating... a five dollar halfway solution. also widens the diameter of the barrel to 23 mm and thats estheticly more pleasing. thanks for the vid.
by the way. fx sells barrelband for their smaller diameterbarrels. they might make them for dreamline in a later stage? you might want to checkout their website.
I got one that you can put a fx pic. Rail on it's 3d printed from www.ohioairgun.com but it's not very pretty and so I took it off till maybe I can make it look better somehow I'd rather have one from fx if an when they make them
Airarms uses a barrel band. There probably will be a stronger spring available either from FX or third party to increase velocity. Will the Dreamlite have the adjustability for slugs?
Yes it should but will be limited with the smaller valve, but a better BC at 100yards plus will work well.... Also saving for the FX Impact X MKII in .25 for my 200 yard needs!!! 😁
My Dream lite carbon bottle gun from day one it's running the 600mm .22 slug liner. 23 grain NSA slugs at 920fps (155 bar on Reg) tons of shots and sub minute 5 shot 100y groups are the norm. 10 shot groups are consistently 1.25 minute. At a 100 it shoots with my 700mm .25 slug liner Impact and 700mm Slug liner .22 Crown at a 100y those guns both will shoot 10 shot groups that are consistently right at 1.25 moa.. Now where the difference is when pushing out 200 to 300y the Crown will do 10 shot groups right at 2 MOA at 200 and the Impact .25 is slight better running right around 1.75moa and the Dream lite 2.5moa... At 300y the crown and impact will do 10 in around 2.5 to 3 minutes with the .25 fighting the wind slightly better at 300y the Dream lite will print 10 in around 4.5 to 5 minute. The Impact X and Crown flow better at higher reg pressures and the 700mm barrels allow me to push the slugs hotter (how i tuned is i push the slugs until groups start to open at a 100y.. I'm pushing the slugs a lot hotter out the Crown and Impact and the shorter barrel and internals that can't flow as freely restrict the Dream... The flowing deal won't affect .22 that much so i believe it's the extra barrel length that really allows the higher velocity because i know the Dream lite can flow enough to push .22 as fast as i want to BUT it can't do it with the 600mm barrel as you will quickly see groups open if reg pressures are higher then 155 bar.
I haven't touched mine yet I got a slug liner for mine I have the lite and I bought some 19 grain neison slugs and they are shooting 850fps and are pretty awesome I was shooting from 50 an 100 yards and it was spot on so much fun but in the future I may tune it up a lil bit but I'm really liking the way it is btw nice video good info.
@@airgunnersedge4061 yeah I'd be shooting the slugs more I switched back to pellets an the OG liner just untill I buy a more substantial supply of the 19 grain slugs I wanna get some 23 gr. But there are some in between weights like 21gr. 22gr. And I think 22.5 gr. I think from Nielsens I seen some varmint knockers too on eBay I got some for my impact x in 25 but I haven't gotten around to tuning that since I got the dreamline that's saying a lot man it's a sweet lil gun
@@airgunnersedge4061 I'll be waiting to see some of your videos in the future to see what your results are with them 23 grain slugs but yeah they could go a bit faster like you said 900 for I may have to try that and see if the 19 gr. Slugs group better it's been extremely windy here in PA.
I just put an o ring the thickness of the gap around the air tube. My barrel doesn't bounce when I am walking anymore and my POI doesn't change with a silencer.
Just curious FX states you can adjust the the hammer and spring , I might be wrong , I know you can adujust the AMP regulator , like you did , great video very good information and adjustments presintation .
Yes you can adjust the hammer, it's just that it's already at about full spring pressure though, I do have full adjustment to lessen the spring pressure...
It seems to me that you shouldn’t really need 900 FPS for slugs, maybe you just need a faster twist rate if you can’t get to speed. Maybe FX should make a slug barrel with a faster twist rate?
Oh. I bet the rat sniper slugs would do the trick-If he ever takes more orders. By the way, I just got my dreamline in yesterday (.25 in laminate stock) and I can’t believe it doesn’t ship with a barrel band. I hope it holds up. Thanks for your reply.
I've tried getting rat snipers but nope!!! As far as the barrel band I just ordered one for $20 bucks, I'll post a link so you can look, the dream line should have one as I have bumped mine and the POI changed..Ohio AirGuns, LLC 7878 E County Rd 6, Bloomville, OH 44818 (419) 983-2057 g.co/kgs/uBKwJP
I’ve tuned my .22 Dreamline with reg set at 135. Shooting the 21g FX hybrids at 870fps and accuracy is outstanding out to 100 yards. When you can shoot a critter in the head or vitals at those distances there dead. My Dreamline is a gen2 with the new valve system and shipped with the power plenum installed 👍
if you put your reg on 150 bar and use a 21gr slug, and a little tune on the hammer spring, you will be able to push those slugs over 900fps. get to the max that you can on the hammer but you need to have enough reg pressure to push back the valve. ive seen the bull pup .25 shoot 25gr and he still gets 50 so shots. if it doesnt work just back it off back to stock.
Hello my friend Congrats on your new rifle! I’ve just received mine a couple of days ago, would truly appreciate your help with a question or two. I’d like to purchase the new sidewinder with a 56 mm optical lens and I’m wondering if there appears to be enough room for one using high mounts? Two, my power adjustment wheel will simply not turn (in the stock anyway) wondering if they are a bit stiff when new? Would be great full for your help as it appears you’ve owned yours for a year now. Your insight will undoubtedly help fellow DC owners as well. Purchased a barrel band as per your advice. Fx makes one for $29 I think it was. Utah Airguns. Looks better than the rest in my opinion. Thanks for your help, congrats again on your dreamline. Keep making real world videos the community needs more like you!
I know with the bottle and compact cylinder you can unscrew it with air in it and it’s got a valve to stop all air coming out. Does this cylinder have the same valve in? I’m asking as I’ll be getting a dreamline and wanting to install the new power plenum on it.
Cheers man for the video!! have just got one my self same as yours in UK so 12ft lb Dident have L T on hammer spring and it back out now its set to 778 fps now Happy days apart from that thay ar super nice to shoot! I Have a friend x army He fits Robert Lane regular s to Air Arms guns will ask him if he has a AA barrel band Mite work wos thinking that myself Will ask him Enjoy your shooting
I can't believe you couldn't get that gun up to 900 fps in 22 cal. My 25 cal dreamline lite I got it up to 930 with a 33 Jsb and reg on 150 bar but I only got one magazine. I ended putting a hammer weight in it I had out of a 30 cal bobcat and now I'm getting up to 960 fps. But I just ordered a huma hammer spring I was going put it in my impact but I already got the slug power kit in so I'ma put it in my dreamline
I suppose that you realize that you can't adjust the trigger and the pressure in the reg independently. It was designed such that they occur in parallel and can only be moved together. Up in pressure up in trigger spring
Contact Jason at Ohio airguns that's where i got my gun and Barrel band from great people just shoot him a email from his web site or I could give you his number
Actually a great slug gun, installed the Huma reg shooting 27gr NSA 200 yards , they didn't have the bottle version dreamline out before I got the Laminate...
I got the STX liner you know the one that comes with the gun. But the only slugs I have tried was fx slugs and they didn't shoot to good. But I was just looking at the jsb knockouts I think I might order some and give them a try. I didn't plan on turning my dreamline into a slug gun it shoots pellets great. But I saw the video you did on the huma reg I would like to get one.
dont buy it if you dont know how to tune it?????BS you can learn!!! everybody who buys an fx,having moved up from a lesser gun,is teaching themselves how to use its tuning ability,,,,some of us have brains also.
Unfortunately the Harsan airmax has a choked barrel and too much twist rate for slugs, that's why they have slug liners with a slower twist rate and non coked barrel for the FX...
