I never did index my fx barrel until now i do and it makes a big difference in accuracy at long ranges...but its hard to do it when you have a barrel tension kit system like the 800mm barrel kit i got so frustrating do it but i think i finally got it where i want it man i shot so many slugs that day 😢 thankd for sharing bsafe buddy your guns sounds perfectly tune has that quick blast of air sounds awesome great job ty 😊
The last one I did was the 700mm tensioned barrel, 100% worth doing imo though. The impact is so easy to tune (especially pellets) but when you're chasing better and better accuracy, you start ploughing through slugs 🤣 all part of the fun though I guess. Cheers for the comment 👍 👌
@honda16001 yeah its harder to tune for slugs you start chasing accuracy and it gets frustrating but I got my fx mk2 25 pp with barrel up and down very accurate shooting pellets and the fx m3 800mm up and down for slugs cheers buddy 👍
I’ve trying to do this on my m3, the problem is the barrel liner moves when the locking nut press against it when tightening it up.how do you stop the line moving ?
Add more orings between the liner and housing. Or wrap insulation tape around the liner, so its snug. That way it won't turn. Or mark the liner were you want it to end up after tightening then (so 12 oclock position) then see how much more it turns after tightening (say 1 o clock position) now set the the mark at 11 oclock, tighten and it should end up at 12 oclock.
That’s normal for.177 cal liners. I use a pointed wooden dowel to hold it in position while tightening the nut. Still have to set it slightly off where you need it to end up as the nut grabs it just before it’s tight.
So you zeroed the scope up with the barrel at the 3 o clock position? If you shoot at 27 yd zero then shoot at 50 yard and you have either a drop or a rise in the poi then your good but if you have a left or right poi with no wind then maybe u might want to look at that again
To index the barrel, you're looking for the highest point. Put the scope out, so it doesn't hit on point. Then look for the highest impact, after rotating the liner at 3,6,9 and 12oclock positions. If the highest and lowest arent in line vertically, adjust either the 12 or 6 position, so they are in line vertically. You can pick the 12 or 6, aslong as is flying straight, makes more sense to pick the 12 though. Then zero the scope to your highest point position. You are only indexing the barrel to start of with, the scope is just making it easier to see what you re hitting. Then zero after you've found the highest point.
@@airaddict6171 I've tried at both, the highest point is the highest point. Aslong as the 12 and 6 are in line vertically. I'm testing slugs out at 50 75 and 100yd flying straight. Passed that you have other factors, like spin drift etc.

@@airaddict6171 screw the nut in hand tight, then imagine tightening 2hours (10oclock to 12oclock) more with a spanner. You want snug not silly tight. Also when you re rotating the liner, make sure the liner hasn't gone of the mark when you've tighten the liner nut. If your orings aren't holding the liner tight enough you'll have to position the liner mark at 11oclock, so when you tighten down the nut, it moves it to the 12oclock.
Interesting the 6 o’clock wouldn’t have been above the 12 o’clock on it’s impact ? I can only surmise the torque of the moderator was different at each setting . Thanks for the video . 👍
No, the torque was the same for each setting. That's what the black lines where for, to make sure everything aligns the same. The 3,6,9, and 12 postion was from the index mark the fx liner came with. For example instead of me using fxs mark as the 12 o'clock I could of said 3, 6 or 9 o'clock, it was just referring to it as a quarter of a turn for each setting to find the highest vertical impact. Hope that makes sense
