Thanks for this new video, really enjoy your comments and answering forum questions. My Impact is still factory warranted but I know I will be using the knowledge I learn from your videos when the time comes.
I know this is an old video but as the impact is now sold as mk2 i feel this video is still relevant if not now even more so. I've seen people install the Huma regulator in the quest for more consistency. I've found my mk2 impacts first shot is a lower velocity than the rest of the string is my regulator damaged in need of a rebuild or just poorly setup?and would you recommend installing a huma regulator or sticking with the amp regulator?
Thanks Ernest! Had a good laugh at the part where you said how can they use a fucked up o ring hahahaha. its best to understand how these things work. I have accidentally turned in my reg under pressure, getting replacement kit next week. Thanks for all your videos 🙌🏻
@@gordy1961 I understood how to adjust the reg but one day I took a chance to decrease reg pressure without releasing the air. Needless to say I stuffed up the reg and needed to source a replacement which took weeks. Now all working 100% and not taking any shortcuts, VERY intricate little regulator. Learned a LOT.
@@djrautenbach2407 Mine literally blew all 140 bar out in one "explosion" have checked most things but not had the reg out. It will not refill with air, just leaks out into barrel port....
@@gordy1961 If all your air leaks out through barrel port reg is not closing and simply bypass through. (if im not mistaken) You will need to remove reg and inspect. Under a magnifying glass if you have. What caused this to happen?
@@djrautenbach2407 Thanks so much pal, thats what my buddy thinks. I have looked everywhere else so I will strip the reg next. I had just upgraded to slug barrel, carbon sleeve, tungsten power kit etc, was at 160bar using 44gr in .25. It was going off like a shotgun so reduced pressure on reg but obviously too quickly? Didnt regas. A few shots later bang, thought it had exploded! Will update on my results. Thanks again, really appreciate your time. Gordon
Yesterday i blew piston O-ring 2 times . I did not adjust it over its limitation . But the problem is why a piston seal is blown instead of that small down in the regulator adjuster screw ? Now i dont know what to do . Whenever i change piston seal and assemble it . It just blows .
excellent but still don't know where exactly is the leaking in my impact. I hear the leaking inside next to the power wheel. So I don't know where o what o ring is the problem.
My impact goes from 130 bar to 200 bar with only a half turn on the reg and it is not close to being flush is there something wrong with my reg. Also I almost sent it back when I got it because it leaked from the reg
has anyone had problems with the stock reg mine can be turned up from 50-around 90 and the power is still only 6ftlb 😂😂 also on my brother when its fired the needle jumps a little down mine jumps up any ideas cheers
I almost bought one of these guns a year ago. I decided against it, and ironically, inherited an impact X in .25 that was purchased about a year ago. The receipt is nowhere to be found, so the warranty is no good. When I got it, both the regulator and the cylinder showed 145 bar. I filled the cylinder to 250 bar, then noticed the regulator pressure was creeping up to over 200. I removed the cylinder, and the regulator pressure went down to zero (probably damaging something else). After watching hours of video on these air guns and all of the problems with leaks, I’m glad I didn’t buy one of these frail pieces of crap. One leak of a thirty cent o-ring can cause a chain reaction that costs who knows how much. I now own a $2000 paper weight. At least it came with a nomad compressor that I can use on my Akela that I ended up buying that has never had a single problem. I can now get rid of my hand pump. VERY DISAPPOINTED in the fx impact X.
@@GreatLakesLogger I ended up sending it to North Carolina for repairs…. They are going through it as we speak and replacing every O-ring in the gun. $200 including shipping both ways. I’m gonna see how it goes once I get it back.
