Oh well... That is one badass valve! Probably it closes slowly AF because of weight. Also having screwed end protruding to the athmosphere, instead of been contained inside HPA as the vast majority of PCP knock-open valves, maybe that's why so many springs! Anyway, thanks for information, Mr. Rowe :)
thanks for the great information ... disassembly is probably not for the average person, but just seeing how it work and where the wear points are is great info for me ... at least i will know what maybe the problem ... in my case i hope that one day i can get the parts to re build this gun myself ...
three years since i bought an fx impact and thru your videos i finally think i understand how the gun works and i am ready to diy the maintenance ... thanks ernest ... i do not see any other airgun manufacturers putting out instructional videos (besides edgun) on how to diy repairs !! ... the "average airgunner" probably should not buy an fx gun, most do not appreciate the ability to tune the gun from the outside !! ... go back five years air gunners had to take the regulator out of the air tank to adjust it and change hammer spring to adjust the valve opening ... now adjusting the power on an fx gun is like a dream ... and you have a multiple calibers on the same gun !!
For someone like you Mr.Rowe this may be a good PCP, but for average person this is too complicated, too many o rings & as of now too many problems with this FX Impact. Poor QC. This is $2000 headache.
FX is making improvements like any other new AG in the market. they take it serious in there product and take my inputs and others to make a better platform. in my opinion its a joy to shoot, haven't had a problem in 2k rounds. those QC you noted was fix, and will fix as new problem in long term testing.
+Esting Rowe Thank you for your reply. So there is hope. I do like this gun, just afraid of all the problems written about it. I do believe it is one of a kind at this time just not proven yet. Its got all the features that every air gun enthusiast would want. Time will show.
Hello Mr Rowe I first off want to say your videos are great and very I'm formative and would like to meet you some day I'm going to be purchasing a impact soon but was wondering how many o'rings does impact have and how often do they need replacing which I know depends on usage and being neglectful lol or making wrong adjustments thanks again for the videos happy holidays
hi. i just disassembled my impact and your video made it a piece of cake ! thank you. upon disassembly i see 2 things different in mine, 1st, there is only one long spring, whereas the video shows 3 in a row of different lengths. Secondly, there is no 1mm set screw? it was just loctited. could they have forgotten to put it? i know i didnt lose it. there is a hole but dont see any threads.
Mine is the same, But I have a black plastic sleeve on mine as well, about 5cm long. Mine is a Mark 1 Gen2 Impact and suspect these are differences between gen1 and gen2
