Thank you, George, for the very creative review. Your comparisons were very creative and informative, particularly how quickly the cameras pick up focus.
Thanks George for a great video. I love your style and the head to head comparison. I've got an FZ300 and find that it does a great job for the price. George in FL
I had planned on buying this, but I remembered your earlier comments about the focus issues. I also re-read DP Reviews on this camera, and found that the first copy they received had a lens so soft they had to return it for another copy so they could review it. I decided to pass on the FZ2500, since I would need to buy new at $850 to avoid what was apparently a problem with some early copies. Thanks again for your excellent help. I may return and get the FZ1000ii, but I can get a somewhat older interchangeable lens camera for the same price, and that seems to me the way to go for now. I have lenses from my earlier "photographic life," so the lenses are not a problem.
George, love your video. I have the FZ300 and the FX1000M2. Out of those two I have to go with the FZ300 and looking at your video it's a no-brainer for me the FZ300 over the FZ2500 all day long. People don't how special that little camera is from build quality to image quality. Thanx Joe B. NJ
Thank you for watching. I also have the FZ1000ii but the camera I pick up first when I walk out the door is the FZ300. It takes pictures well above its price point.
I really appreciate how straight forward and practical your tests are. They aren't just a bunch of specs, is SHOWING us what a camera can/can't do. Pictures and videos are for showing, so how you are doing it just makes sense. Keep them coming! Also, appreciate this wasn't 18 minutes long! :)
Thank you for watching! I will try to keep showing what the cameras I have can do. If you have the FZ300, FZ1000ii are the Olympus EM10 let me know some of your tips.
The reason I got the FZ1000ii and not the FZ2500, it is good for both video and pictures. The FZ2500 is a very good video camera but I was never happy with the pictures.
@@georgeeharrison4293 Glad I saw this, given the previous reviews I"ve seen on the FZ2500. I didn''t realize that it didn't do as well photographically as the FZ1000. Thank you again. It's amazing what a little photography can do when one is making a decision.
Thank you for watching! The FZ300 is a very good camera it is small and easy to carry and the video and photos are very good. Plus you can use it in any kind of weather.
thank you, I am at this time looking both cameras to buy. I am leaning to the fz300. very nice video on the comparison of the two, I like how you showed how quick the fz300 comes into focus. Just looking for a all around camera. How well does it work with smart phones as a remote?
Thank you for watching. There is an App you can get for your phone if you can get it to work, you might have to try a few times before you can get it working. With good used prices of the FZ2500 now around $630.00 that might be a better buy, but you will lose the weather sealing you have on the FZ300 The FZ300 is a 25-600 lens with no crop in 4K video. The 24-480 FZ2500 becmes a 37-720 lens in 4K video yes the crop is that big, you will have a longer reach but you give up a lot on the wide in. If you are not sure rent the FZ2500 for a week like I did before you spend the money. I have the FZ300 and will keep it but thinking about getting the FZ2500, it is hard to see on RU-vid but theFZ2500 images are sharper and have less noise than the ones from the FZ300. If you do not have to have a touch screen you can find great buys on the FZ1000 starting at around $350.00. Hope this helps in your decision?
Without this I wouldn't have known the thing about the FZ2500 being a little better for closeup, and the FZ300 being faster at focusing when zooming fast. Thanks!
Thank you for watching! If you zoom in and focus it will stay in focus when you zoom out. If you are wide and focus and zoom in you will have to refocus
Great video George. I learned a lot. I'm looking for a B camera for video primarily. I like the FZ300 better. That focusing issue is a big deal to me. The image quality looks about the same to me other than the focal length.
In good light, there is no difference in the video The advantage of the FZ2500 and the FZ1000ii that I now have is with the bigger sensor will give you a better picture at night are indoors with low light.
So the FZ5200 is good for Still images only with no zoom and has High Quality professional video But the FZ300 is good for just recording in general and Zooming is a plus.
Thank you for watching! You can zoom while taking still images with the FZ2500 but the focusing is slower than the FZ300. The FZ2500 lens is very sharp in video but not as sharp when you are just taking pictures. The FZ300 is sharp in video and stills but not as good in low light as the FZ2500.
I love your channel. So somebody offered me fz2500 for 375 dollar and fz300 for 265 dollar i chosed the fz300. Since i wanted further zoom and weather seal if igoto beach where dust send can mass up the camera... Did i make the right choice?.....
I think you did, yes you get a bigger sensor with the z2500 which will be better in low light but overall I got better and faster focusing out of the FZ300. I have been out in very heavy rain and it was no problem for the FZ300, and the battery will give you 1 hour more run time.
The fz300 for the price is great, but the fz2500 would be your best choice because it is better in low light and any night time photography. I am going to test the FZ1000 ii this week. It might turn out to be the best buy.
Update to my last reply. If you are just into video the FZ2500 is a good buy, If you are in to video and photography the FZ1000 ii which you can get at a very good price now, is the way i would go because it is very good in video and the lens gives you sharper pictures
Its worse than that I think, it, sounded like the right channel may have been inverted (ie out of phase) as it messed with my head and I had to put headphones in and just use the left one so I could listen. Nasty effect!
