So basically, you got the story almost correct! The alien actually wants to go back home, we see this when they watch a movie about outer space and Shuhua starts crying (missing her home I guess). The guy tries his best to help her the whole time. I think they're trying to look for a signal or something to make the orb work but to no avail. At the same time the guy teaches the alien earthly things. Then later as they were running away, the alien finds the logo (gidle's logo!) that matched the one on her back, I'm pretty sure it's what got her orb to work again. And that's when she reminisce her time on earth with the guy and then she leaves to go home.

According to the reaction of the guy in the MV, Lee Chaewon, there are some fun facts behind the scenes below 1) Those white flowers are real flowers (which means Yuqi ate the real flower I think) 2) The door opened by Miyoen is actually opened by a staff hiding inside the door 3) The marker they were using didn’t come out well while filming 4) The “burger” is actually cream bread 5) Shuhua’s acting was so good that even Lee can’t tell if it was acting or not 6) Minnie and Lee were filming in a real bus 7) The spaceship is real too, not CG 8) Lee was actually being grabbed very hard by the guards 9) Lee is a dancer so he did all the cool dance moves in the MV

The only thing you didn't noticed is the alien really want to go home but the ship and the orb got destroyed just like in Jin's astronaut mv. They've learned to be happy in the earth day by day with the help of the guy, until the government found them. When the orb/glass bead is working again, plus they don't want the guy to get hurt, they decided to just go home and that's why the lyrics are sad because it's both of them having different meanings after their separation. Also the logo is literally their logo.
Yes.. we're getting another album.. well EP.. and not only thay, this time it's gonna be their first full English album. They're producing it in partnership with 88rising, so we might expect something fresh from them. The EP is called HEAT and it's gonna be released in September 8.

Just so you know, there's a popular theory that the boy represents (G)I-DLE and the alien represents Soojin! ^^ The government and other people in the mv supposedly represent the media/haters during the scandal, with only the boy [(G)I-DLE] staying by the alien's [Soojin's] side Plus, a lot of things about the alien in the mv line up with Soojin! Like her having a tattoo in the exact same spot as the alien, her helping the members with their makeup, watching a movie with a member and crying etc. If it's true, it would make the last scene a lot sadder and make more sense. It can mean that Soojin chose to leave the group so the hate towards (G)I-DLE for supporting her would stop. That's why the people that were chasing them in the mv disappeared along with her ;-;
theres just one alien girl, she shape shifts and her personality also changed but he falls in love with every version of her and they have so much fun together until enemy aliens come after them and shuhua shaped alien has to k word herself and enemy aliens in the end to save the guy..its really said and cute. extremely ET coded and the song is so pretty i love it sm

Based on what I heard, this mv and the song represents how Soojin left so the group itself wouldn't get hurt😢definitely made me cry, because if you know what happened to Soojin you know why she chose to leave. Poor girl was basically framed by a "loved" actress and took all the shit thrown at her by knetz. And, instead of ruining the groups image, she chose to leave so the rest of the members wouldn't get hurt😖
I'm surprised no one in the comments elaborated on the production, which I thought someone would. (Maybe they did and I missed it) Regardless, CUBE and 88rising paired up together to make this. I'd say the video and song is 90% 88rising while CUBE was just providing the talent (aka (G)I-DLE). Soyeon and the other members didn't write the song or have any creative input to the song or the video, other than maybe on-set suggestions. This was basically all 88rising. They are a company that takes Asian acts and makes English videos with them, pretty much. I'm think (G)I-DLE agreed to this because they want to get their foot in the door for more western markets. Since Yuqi and Minnie are the only English speakers (casual speakers at that) they probably didn't feel comfortable writing a full english song on their own so going down this route probably seemed safer. Plus... the girls are super busy with their normal albums to just jump into something like that requires a lot more thought given it's a language they don't speak. ANYWAY, that's the story in a nutshell. Later on they're going to release an album with 88rising (called Heat). It might be more of the same as I DO, or there might be more creative input from Soyeon. No one knows yet.
I think soojin theory does make sense soojin represent the members with all hints they gave us and the guy represent gidle or the other way around and the one who's following them and end up separating them are cube and the hate of social media they got when soojin got her scandal and ended up leaving the group this theory does make sense at least to me but it's sad😢
