I consider half-guard/z-guard/knee shield all the same family only difference being the top leg placement.

As techniques evolve and jiujitsu becomes more and more detailed, it is important to distinguish certain techniques. At a high level these details and different approaches do make a difference. I understand where you are coming from, but in sport jiujitsu I disagree. To a non striker a kick is a kick. Why make a difference between a body kick or low kick? Or better yet a low kick and a calf kick? Then between a thai low kick or Dutch low kick? Do you see my point?

I see it as Halfguard being the parent position, and from there branches off knee shield, Z guard and deep half etc..

The reason we have the thumbnail calling it ‘top g roll’ is because it is a hilarious nice wordplay and it’s something called clickbait; which helps the channel grow and reach more people. Get off your high horse and be happy we are out here sharing all these amazing techniques around the world. All credits and respect to Alex btw, I honestly had no idea and had to read back the comments (you do understand we get hundreds of these right?).

@zayxen9346 it happens all the time! Haha and I love it and thank them for sharing jiujitsu! Where do you draw the line? Who do you credit when you show an armbar? What about de la riva? If you have seen any of our videos you know we go above and beyond to credit everyone. Most recent video we mention Rene Sousa for the buggy etc. Besides 99% off the time no one truly ‘invents’ anything and it turns out people have been doing it before. But please by all means start your own channel and do better. And next time you show someone an armbar please mention Helio or go back to Ancient Greece of the first armbar from India. You are the better person 👌🏼
