You're not turning it off completely, only in the global settings. If you set G-Sync on in the Nvidia control panel for game profiles, it will be enabled for the games you select.

what are u talking about u dont use gsync if u dont have compatible hardware. disabling it on non gsync hardware does literally nothing. do u even logic?

Its mainly the Gforce experience in-game overlay that causes the issue. I had used DDU to clean out the old drivers to get a fresh install when I put my new card in and I would get freesync flicker during movement after the reinstall (was especially bad when playing the AH-64 module in DCS due to the rotor movement). I would toggle the Gsync off and on and the issue would clear until restarting my PC. I had not checked the Geforce Experience since reinstalling and by default the overlay was on. Turned it off and no more issue, no more need to toggle Gsync anymore.

I was just testing this and found the perfect solution. First In the NVidia control panel enable G-Sync for both fullscreen and windowed fullscreen. Then in the 3D settings set global settings set it to Fixed Refresh and then In Program Settings create a profile for the game with G-Synch enabled. No need to remove any overlay, working with the reshade just fine for example

You don't have to turn off gsync or in-game overlay just lower monitor hz for that specific game will fix it.I had problems with Warhammer 3 flickering , i use mostly 185hz monitor and then i lower it to 144hz before playing and its fine.

It comes down to how stable the game is. massive drops in fps can cause flickering .. also running higher then the range will do it as well but caps fix that easy enough. The actual fix is to lower your graphics settings until u can maintain stability. Other app overlays can cause issues as well. But for the most part people have issues with this because they all want to tweak the graphics settings higher then they can maintain. Remember no matter what you see as current fps, we play the lows so that number is irrelevant if your 1 percent lows are to far apart form your viewable fps. (this is why its a per game basis) If you see flickering on all games then you likely have a old gpu, app causing the issues, or incorrect software set up like control panel. Even funnier that this guys solution to fixing g-sync is turn it off completely lmao

Yeah there is another solution that if u change the monitor to 60HZ it fixes but it adds alotttt of latency (+5ms)

dude, fixed refresh did it for me, at least for now, my darker spots would flicker constantly, i been dealin with this for years lol and i always just kept gsync off so i wouldnt have to deal with it, WOWOWOW, i didnt do the vsync thing tho from what i hear vsync is bad, for gaming and w/e else, but the fided refresh thingy did it, OMGGGGGGGGGG, thank you, my monitor was flickering even when not ingame, whenever a dark app or anything was up, even the dark sides of youtube screens would flicker, and what u did there stopped it, omg lol

Easier : disable G-Sync through the OSD of the monitor. I just did that in case of flickering and then just reactivate it after a restart or anything else (as flickering depends on alt tabing etc.).

i did the 3 steps. disabling nvidia ingame overlay/ set monitor tec. to fix framerate and enable vsync in global nvidia settings. i have a rtx 3070 and a MSi MAG272cqp...brightness flickering is gone.

you are turning on freesync/gsync mode so you dont have to use the obsolete Vsync. So literally you didnt use the feature of your monitor

It fixed the flickering issue because in step 2 of this video when in the Nvidia Control panel you change the "Monitor Technology" from "G-Sync Compatible" to "Fixed Refresh", the Nvidia Control panel turns OFF the G-Sync. Check for yourself in the Nvidia Control Panel "Set up G-Sync".... it will be disabled.

That's not possible. You've to do it while recording itself. Try to record on SSD if you have one. That should work.

When I playing assassin's creed odyssey and when shows some cinematic video during playing game then there's problem of g sync... My nvidia driver is completely updated 526.91 version and I turned on v sync in adaptive option but still g sync flickering during cinematic video, what should I do now

This isnt a fix and I dont think it even counts as a bandaid solution. As of now the bandaid solution is to restart gsync/PC before playing a game, or keep it off until you play a game. It happens when the display/PC sleeps so you could also probably just stop that from happening.

I think this is the best we can do. Mine just flicker whenever it wants. I just turned on Gsync and sometimes it goes well and sometimes it flickers.

Have Aoc 144hz monitor and by using photoshop it kept flickering jesus i tried everything bough a new gpu new hdmi cable. In the end i turned of g-sync and the flickering disappiert. Wtf :D

XD hey guys, here's how to easily fix the g-sync refresh flickering issue. 1. Disable overlay. It does nothing but 3 points make me look more pro. 2. Disable G-sync. 3. Enable V-sync.

Bro! Youre a legend! I set monitor technology to fixed refresh in global settings, and changed it to g-sync in the game profiles in nvidia control panel. The flickering is totally gone when i use multiple monitors now!

The first one was OK, disabling overlays might help. ..but the next steps you basically fix gsync issues by disabling it. Poor video.

I got monitor flickering issues after nivida update after 2 hours I finally turned g-sync off like u said and that seemed to fix the issue, weirdly though before I figuyred out about the gsync causing it I switched my monitor to 60hz to stop the flickering happening and when the monitor was on 60hz it stopped...... but when my monitor is on 144hz it starts flickering
