I found the solution to this terrible problem that extends not only in video games but throughout the entire system. The solution is to follow the entire process you mentioned up to the screen to deactivate or activate G-Sync, but instead of deactivating it, uncheck the "Enable settings for the selected display model" box, and magically the problem disappears, the whole system stabilizes, and the flickering vanishes.

This solves the problem, but it's like simply turning off G-Sync. "Enable settings for the selected display model" means that you activate the setting (G-Sync) for the specific monitor and if you uncheck the box, you switch off G-Sync for the monitor. Or am I misunderstanding it?
@ldcp9919
@ldcp9919 5 месяцев назад
@@cactusj4ck Actually, it's still active and functions the same, but it's in generic mode. I don't know if you're familiar with audio devices, especially DACs. There are two ways to use DACs. The first is plug and play, which uses Wasapi playback, and it sounds perfectly fine. However, for die-hard audiophiles, that's not enough. They install specific drivers for their DAC and listen to music using the bit-perfect method. The name says it all, does it serve a purpose? Not really. In the end, it sounds exactly the same - same dynamics, same sound, same speeds. Personally, I prefer not to use ASIO or bit-perfect to avoid the system blocking the device. Here, it's the same case; it's still working but in generic mode.

Oled gamma flicker isn't fixable with gsync on. People that say it is are not even checking if its active on their display not just being "on". I have found a workaround that works pretty well though. It takes a lot of testing for optimal settings. Using rtss frametime limiter set to a stable amount. I found I have to deactivate it's on screen display though and don't use afterburner as these will cause microstutter on my 4070 super. Which in turn cause the flicker too. This really did my head in and hope this helps someone else with the stress.

hey mate, if i disable this setting on my PC will it also disable gsync on the TV side ? i also have the C2. i didn't have that mad flickering issue you experienced but i do see some flickering in some games with hdr like the dark and light areas flicker lightly and it is bit annoying.
@pein3480

Your tv and the nvidia control panel goes hand in hand in this case, remember this solution works for me because I'm not gaming on pc like that anymore. So the tv side will be affected if that answers your question the flicker was mad annoying for me so this is my fix purely as a pc monitor perspective.

Happening on the OLED G9 as well. It only happens to exactly half the screen. Only the left half. Non-Oled Samsung monitors had this issue for the longest time.

I have a brand-new LG C3 48" (USA, CA) and I can tell that G-Sync is the issue. That is because in the Nvidia panel, when disabled no issue. But I do not think the root cause is the TV, HDMI cable or your GPU. Let me explain, in the Nvidia panel you can add an indicator that will display a "G-Sync" overlay on application that have G-Sync. And for example, Microsoft Teams had this overlay, but this overlay was ON and OFF, and I think the root cause of this issue is software related. The piece of software responsible for detecting G-Sync app is: app detected G-Sync go! Uhh... Never mind, cancel G-Sync off! You know what? G-Sync GO!GO!GO! My hardware is laptop Asus ROG Strix G16 i9-13980HX with RTX4090 Laptop.

Try this on global settings if it makes a difference: • Turn on VSYNC, GSYNC & *Ultra Low Latency* in control panel for global settings or specific game • No FPS cap in control panel • VSYNC off in-game, fps cap in-game (on or off) Some games do not play with control panel Vsync, so you can also try to disable nvidia vsync and use the in-game one instead. Just never have them both turned on. You also don't need an fps cap with reflex, it will limit fps automatically as it works with gsync. On my 120hz display it limits to 116hz by itself. I had an fps cap on, set to 116hz. It caused all sorts of flickering/stuttering issues as my FPS crossed over the 116hz limit of my VRR range. I believe it was nvidia reflex and the fps cap conflicting with each other.

I have a problem that i can not find anywhere.... Please can you help? Playing lower games.. ps4,ps3.. those games flicker. I have the lg c3. So.. gta5 on ps5 is fine. But if i use the ps4 version.. the trees in the distance seem to flicker on and of rapidly. Also with ac black flag i have the same. Lowering the resolution to 720p on that game helps a bit. Its the ps4 version on ps5. I think its something to do with the fast response time of the oled tv. Using vrr and allm on the black flag game helps,but on the gta5 game (ps4 version) i have to put vrr out. But i can never get a stable/clear image on these older games. Playing new games.. is no problem.. i played lies of p,spiderman,.. Also fallout 4,elden ring,red dead redemption ps4 version dont have that tree-flickering problem.

Sorry dude but this is a disappointing 'fix'. Most people who buy a G-Sync display want to actually have the benefits of G-Sync without the flickering, so it's not really a fix to disable a selling point of the display in order to use it properly.
