I commented yesterday from my phone but it didn't post!? Anyway, great review. My first wheel was a second hand G29 and I loved every minute I used it. The price vs enjoyment value is immense! Also, GG your iRacing stats are very impressive!
Thanks allot man Ive been grinding lol and I would agree 100% with you I could not get the value anywhere else for 300 dollars that I have over the past 3 years with this wheel. The enjoyment and friends Ive made online so far with it is beyond worth it.
Had a similar experience with the G29. The wheel is great for beginners, but after 2 years, the pedals are borderline unusable. Both brake and gas were so f**** after 2 years that I had to use huuuge deadzones at the first AND last 20% of the pedal, making it effectively just a 0/1 switch you use with your feet. Other than that it's a great beginner wheel.
923 has better pedals and more ffb which is loud, i wouldnt recommend, thrustmaster has double the power and quieter. ofc if you dont have much money and really want something used then it might be worth it to get logitech, i rather save up and long term invest
No offense, but anyone who truly believes the G29 is still a good wheel and worth buying in 2024 has absolutely no idea what they're talking about. Compared to all other products on the market, the G29 uses extremely outdated and poor technology. The Thrustmaster t300 costs the same as the g29, maybe $50 more, but the technology is much much better and most importantly, there are lots of different wheels and pedal sets to choose from, which you can't do with Logitech. Please do not buy the G29, it is absolutely not worth the money anymore. I started with a G29 drove with it for years and i liked it to but then switched to Thrustmaster and can clearly say that the T300 is better than the G29 in every way imaginable.
@@MastaKilla62 Thats a problem but if I were in that situation I still wouldn't buy a G29, especially if you want to do sim racing. When you just wanna play some Farming Simulator or MudRunner or so the g29 is totatlly fine.
That is your opinion. This is mine as someone who has owned the wheel for 3 years and was able to qualify and race in esports comps with a 300 dollar wheel and after 3 years it's still works as it did on day one I'd say it well worth the money.
i picked one up second hand for just shy of £100 it's a good entry level set up but I wouldn't advise buying new as I think there are better options nowadays.
Forsure at that price you can not go wrong. I hope one day in the future, they improve the pedals. That was my biggest con with them, but they work enough to give the me bug for sim racing lol
in my experience g29 is so much quieter and has less issues then g920. my old g920 (had around 1 year) started getting 'stuck' and you had to keep resetting the wheel plus the accelerator started squeaking 😂. my friends had the same issue and i see it a lot online. had my g29 nearly a year and a half its never overheated and i throw it pretty hard when i drift. g29 is defiantly the best wheel to get started just NEVER buy a Logitech shifter it wont last a year before it falls apart. i will upgrade to a t300 or moza r5 next year though as the gear driven wheels are so damn loud XD
Ya it is a great wheel to get started with Im still moving up in rank with it now 3 years later. I was planning on getting a shifter to try as well so thanks for the heads up. I might look into a moza myself eventually.
I'm thinking of buying second hand g29, here in Ukraine it cost 200$ with a shifter, I've been dreaming of the wheel for 10 years already, but always something interfere. But now when we live in very dangerous time when the bomb could dropped on my house in anytime, I realised that the good moment for buying something could never come. If you get a chance you should buy it, 200 dollars is a great price if it is in good condition.
