G2A has a nice little racket going on with their "Shield" subscription for which you'll be charged 1 EUR monthly. Just don't try to cancel or you'll be sorry. Watch Next: Instagram Bots - The Tale of ClashMegaHackRoyale ►bit.ly/1Yfflva
Wet Lettuce they would sue you or go to PayPal Paypal otherwise was understandable and they blocket g2a for me and I don't had to pay the fee PayPal rocks!
they are using a grey market, not really legal or illegal. or a better way to put it, no morals and its worse then pirating. pirate a game is better then buying "dirty" or stolen keys.
Probably someone backs them up? And a majority of gamers (imo of course) enjoys a game with high quality and low cost. That's what makes them still alive.
No, they dispatch cancelation emails 20 minutes later on purpose, that's what I'm trying to say. I tried this myself and it's most likely the case. But changing password can be done within seconds.
Fedir Hallenius you also have to use the mail in 10 minutes after receiving otherwise you get an error and have to do it all over again 😂😂 Fuck G2A and i will probably never buy from them again, i dont support such bussines.
Want to know another funny thing? The email you get, you need to use it within 10 MINUTES that you receive it or you'll get an "invalid token" error. And you'll have to restart the entire deactivation process again. NEVER again will I use this scummy website.
One thing you can do as consumers is tell all the youtubers who promote this site what G2A is actually up to. Even big channels like PewDiePie are taking money from G2A to promote them.
Zone not really, if the seller canmot provide you means to cancel the service or respond to your claim PayPal has full right to reimburse you in your favor. It happened to me when I couldn't login to the swtor website because their email service is broken and the confirmation email never arrived, I tried a hundred times and this is a common problem with swtor, you cannot even contact their customer service without logging in. EA did not respond to my PayPal claim and PayPal not only canceled the subscription but also refunded the last two months of paid subscription for me. And EA never responded to any of that.
And if you cancel your PayPal subscription the seller (G2A, mmo sub...) will just automatically cancel it on their side as well as no payment has arrived. There is nothing illegal about this. It's the seller's fault i in the first place that he has not provided easier means to cancel it.
100% legal to go into paypal preapproved payments and cancel it. PayPal is not classified as a bank and it is 100% allowed. According to seller terms on PayPal it is mandatory for sellers to allow buyers cancel subscriptions.
Sueshe hahaha I was just thinking what if you just couldn't really a fucking Shit and just clicking deactivate and to make your sure paying attention they make the deactivate button green to people that fuck up have to start over
My Girlfriend was wondering why I was getting angry at the computer, why I was screaming, pulling out my credit card, repeatingly checking my email and just staring at the screen... She almost left me that day... I was just unsubscribing from G2A "Shield" - Thanks again G2A, I'll miss you my old friend?
i bought the crews dlc with g2a, no problem. i bought gta v, no problem. my friend bought overwatch, he got scammed. im trying to say g2a is like opening some csgo cases, the odds of you getting what you really want is shit......just expect your money to go away if you buy from them.
not really, i've bought 14 games from them and not a single one was a scam. All you got to do to have REALLY high odds is see the sellers succesfull rate (100%-90% is good, less is bad)
Like many users i was scam by G2A. Only last month I discover they are taking 1.50€ every month from my bank account since January 2016! They say the first month is free(1 month trial) and they forgot to say after that "free month" they will take money from your account every month! And when you cancel that shit they scam you even more, you normally pay 1euro for the shield, after you cancel it, you start to pay 3 euros! Is not even worth it buy keys in the site anymore.
GonnaDoStuff I advice you to block that shit in your paypal or bank, because they will not stop charging that amount! Before is to late! When I Notice that was to late... I got charge close to 20 euros in several months payment of 1.50 euros!
Dr Pantsu Nope! They don't say anything. After that trial end, they will start charging the "shield amount" every month. They never say anything about that in the first time you decide to try trial for 30 days. This is a scam, G2A purposely hide that!! They charge money without the costumer knowing. If you read across the internet, you will see loads of people complaining about the same thing. A "trial" like it says its a Trial! Its not a permanent contract!!! they clearly do that on propose!
you know for the amount of time it would take to do that (about an hour) I could just drive down into town to my bank. Mark the G2A subscription as fraudulent and cancel it. and be back home drinking tea before I could get it done manually.
How do I know if I accidentally subscribed to that crap? I payed with paysafe every time, so a subscription is not possible. But I just want to make sure ...
RazingHel Nope, I paid with paysafe and I didn't give them any information. I also haven't been getting any emails or anything. So I guess I'm lucky. Thanks for the replies :)
I have only used g2a a few times, never been scammed, never dumb enough to buy "random" steam keys, but I will say it is a sketchy ass site and g2a shield subscription is bullshit anyway when they make you pay for it whether you have it or not.
Well duh if you buy something itll charge your bank account. But if you dont sign up for G2A shield then it doesnt keep charging your bank account for it. Been using G2A for a while now and never get randomly charged cause Shield is deactivated
It gets worse, I marked the days I could deactivate it in my agenda, tried it 5 days before, didnt work, 4 days before, didnt work, 2 days before, didnt work, 1 day didnt work and in the end it just got extended and they took my money. Not going to buy from G2A ever again.
anyone with this issue reading in the future, just call your bank and block g2a, g2a will either contact you to cancel your service or delete it themselves.
On the last prompt it should have switched the text between the green box and the gray text so people who weren't paying attention would just hit the gray text again and their subscription would stay active.
That is why I refuse to just hand over my credit card information to some random online services I just heard about, I gave them the Paypal link instead. Although I think G2A might have gone wise on it though; earlier that day I made several purchases with my Paypal at Steam and Humble Bundle which worked just fine but having huge issue with G2A for, which I can only assume issue on G2A's side (I've made multiple calls to both PayPal and my bank to check if the issue is on my end). Either way, with Paypal, with one quick call to Paypal support center, I was able to kill the account link in a few minutes hassle free. The whole ordeal gives me a very good idea on what Grey Market is like. High risk, high reward.
Holy shit, they do NOT want you to unsubscribe. That is dedication to make THAT MANY dialogues. They should just have a bot generate new dialogue options and make it a text-adventure game.
Okay. I use g2a when I want to buy game, which was formerly in sale but now it isn't. I never use g2a shield. Just buy the game. Is this video means I shouldn't buy game from g2a or just saying g2a shield system is fucked up? If it means g2a shield is trash, I don't use it so it won't be problem for me. Because at least for now I never had a problem with'em. Games works properly.
Humble Bundle be like "You want to cancel your subscription? You will lose: stuff you lose "Are you sure?" *Clicks yes* "Ok, subscription canceled, why did you unsubscribe?" End. Thats all.
Also, 2 more things to note: 1. Not sure if it still does this, but sometimes G2A would subscribe you even without checking the G2A shield option during purchase. 2. The confirmation e-mail is only valid for up to *15 minutes*. If you don't click it in time, you have to do the whole process again.
Huhhh... I bought a game a while ago, and the G2a shield was selected by default when I went to checkout but didn't notice it. It was only like a 2 dollar charge, so I figured fuck it I didn't want to deal with the hassle of asking for my $2 back. Did I accidentally subscribe for a montly recurring charge? Or was that shield a "just for this purchase" buy? I don't check my bank statement for every dollar that's been withdrawn, so this is kind of concerning. I don't think I even have a G2A account on their website, I just paid through paypal.
OK, I can't work out if I'm doing this right or wrong, but I love G2A. So far I've managed to get Overwatch, For Honor, Deus Ex Mankind Divided and Battlefield one for massively discounted prices without a problem. No reoccuring fees, no problems with customer service and no failed keys (besides Overwatch which I resolved in 20 mins with one of the reps. I got a new key.)
Wait, so I've purchased the shield only about twice, and that was the price that depended on the game. I don't actually have a g2a account as I'd rather just pay the 55 cents every purchase from PayPal. Was I buying one-time shields or was it a subscription I was buying even though every time I buy a game I usually choose not to have it active as it would cost more money. Basically do I have the subscription or have I only been purchasing the one-time shields?
NEVER buy the shield AT ALL. You don't need it. It's just an excuse for them to make more money. If you get a dodgy key, you are entitled to a refund regardless.
G2A takes even longer. I had G2a Shield on a purchase. Stupid code didn't work in my region like it was advertised. Had to wait weeks to give the seller a chance to reply to the ticket, which they never did, so right there the 5 minute money back promise is bullshit. Took almost a month to get my money back. Paypay takes 10 days at most, probably even less if you give them a call and tell them about G2A. What gets me is why G2A hasn't been sued or raided by the FBI yet for the bullshit they pull constantly.
KaZixt, yeah I did too. My point is the shield promise it bullshit. You pay extra for the security that if the key doesn't work, they'll get you a new one in 5 minutes. When the key I bought didn't work, they open a ticket and wait 2 weeks for the seller to respond to it. 2 weeks is a lot longer than 5 minutes, and in my experience the seller doesn't respond because they've already ran off with the money and moved onto using another account. So I got tired of it and called Paypal. Maybe it's because the person I spoke to had past experience with G2A customers or I got them on a good day, but I got my full refund in a day.
Have you noticed how many gaming channels on RU-vid still promote it? Pewdiepie promotes them as a matter of fact, you'd think that if the site was super sketchy then the face of RU-vid wouldn't be partnered with them.
You can. They just tricked me again into getting Shield. Did multiple purchases and just missed un-clicking Shield one time... sigh. This was my second time getting tricked, they don't refund, even when you cancel Shield that very same day. So I deleted my account and will never be using their site ever again. I suggest you all do the same.
nah, its still 2.61$. it was not free... hence why im never using them again. they just trick you into getting it, and charge you even when you instantly cancel it.
Chris Kenworthy Well, I'm sorry to hear that for sure. Was hoping they'd get their act together better on the consumer side of their business but thanks for letting us know.
Thanks man I learned a lot of customer retention it's actually ingenious how the trick you, not fun I agree but looking at it from the psichology of of marketing it's brilliant.
I don't know why people use the shield....the games are so cheap and even if you get screwed, you can buy the same game 4-5 more times until the price is the same as when you purchase from the steam/other platforms..... Still have yet to be screwed by them.
g2a just wants to help the consumer out! g2a understands that the consumer cant help, but get tricked, bamboozled, and even scammed more often than not. G2A knows that this maddening issue keeps reoccurring over, and over again, on g2a's astonishingly, business-to-customer-friendly, awe inspiting, website... However, regarding to the greedy people who just want to take the consumer's hard earned money G2A has the solution :) and yet this is how the consumer treats his friend ):
I signed up for G2A shield accidentally and paid for about 3 months until I realized. I didn't knew the un subscription through them was so tedious, I just went to my paypal and cancelled the recurring payment to G2A.
Holy crap, when it got to "I thought we were friends" I thought this was going to end up going over the table stupid hard like that captcha video from dunkey.
Did anyone else read after the "subscription can only be cancelled during the last two days of initial term" the part where it says "After the initial term the subscription can be cancelled at any time"? Doesn't that mean that after the first month you can cancel whenever?
(apparently, terms of service 5.12 protects G2A from issuing any refund from this awful cancellation process) "After you go to the page and scroll down, you'll see two links to the Terms and Conditions and the Privacy policy. The terms are here: The information about the Shield charge is available in the point 5.12" Worst cancellation process ever. this needs to be known and this info needs to spread like wildfire. Though the 1.xx$ isn't much I tried to get them to issue a refund and I failed. Thank you RazingHel for spreading this information.
a friend of mine forgot for g2a shield for 3 years. His pay comes to this card, and he never looked into the small amount missing. Also half the keys they sell are stolen from boxed copies, and one day while ur playing steam kicks you out and says you dont own this game anymore . Tru story.
