I had the same issue so I bought the Airbag 360 unit and worked great. I usually just wrap my seatbelt around the passenger seat when driving alone to avoid the light on dash but now I'll unplug it. Thanks!
I have completed the job by following your directions on my G37S convertible. What a pita! Make sure you have a breaker bar or a pipe for your longest ratchet. The seat was really torqued down! Next hardest step for me was separating the connector. I had to loosen the connector assembly from the chair to give me enough room to separate them. After that it was smooth sailing. I did choose to disconnect the seat belt connector for the passenger otherwise you are trading one warning light for another unless you want to buckle the belt when the seat is empty which I didn't want to do. I also needed to reset my srs light one last time and then it's was awesome all day and probably as long as I own the car.
I have been resetting passenger ocs when it blinks, but it usually comes back on after a week and kind of a pain. This looks like do once, and cry once solution and it's on my list of future projects. I got the emulator, so just need to perform the procedure now. Thanks for posting this!
