The longer version shows that he was dropping lots of knowledge and then the interviewer just got all shallow with his questions which seemed to piss him off, understandably.

Imagine if someone accidentally farted during the silence.

By being able to pull this off, Gaahl effectively just answered the guy's question. He doesn't feel lonely. Because he's in direct contact with an inner world of stoic calmness no matter what the surrounding world expects of him. A world where concepts like loneliness, socializing, and even verbal communication are meaningless.

It looks like Gaahl starts out irritated (because he's just spent hours telling this guy to be an individual and the guy's reaction is "guide me!") and then, very slowly, starts growing angry. Beware of anyone who's slow to anger, because when they get there.... yikes.

I really love this. I know when it came out everyone was like "what in the actual fuck is happening", and I know I certainly was. But after years of stumbling across it over and over, I think I get it. He is essentially dissociating, and separating from himself. Just sort of *existing* as a body in the moment within the universe. No thoughts, no feelings, no inherent meaning to anything. Certainly not a leader or a figure above anyone else. Just blankly existing. Because ultimately nothing actually matters. The earth will be gone one day, the Universe will cease to exist. It is all a blip of a moment. But that's actually a comforting thing. It's a bit of Optimistic Nihilism if there is such a thing haha. Basically, the fact that there is no inherent meaning to life means you get to make of it whatever you want. Even if what he is doing means none of that, it still got me to think about it.

A highly respectable person. Everything about him, is just manly. Deep masculine voice, a beautiful voice that only a well talented musician could possess. I swear this guy should have been cast in at least one of the many Dracula movies that were made throughout cinama history, Vladislav the Impaler!
