That was what I love from Akatsuki. They did not only rely on some omnipotent power or unlimited chakra but also with tactics and strategies. I love how they combining their each unique skills with some tactics to face some bijuu or powerful foes who much stronger than them.
Yep, gotta remember these guys prior to joining the Akatsuki and after being in the Akatsuki are S class WANTED criminals that've been on the run for years. They're extremely skilled and smart, you'd have to be if you were a wanted S class criminal and your village kept sending elite squads after you to hunt you down.
It’s pretty much like going up against a trainer with legendary Pokémon and you have a team that are basic Pokémon but are OP for their ability to utilize teamwork.
Best thing about this? Gaara lost. A character we grew to love. He lost. This right here is how you introduce a villain squad. The Akatsuki came to catch bodies. This fight made the Akatsuki feel like a real threat. Cause everyone in the reaction all thought Gaara was gonna win. Nope. Gaara got outsmarted and outplayed. Genius writing by Kishi.
While I like the concept and the fight in general. It had two problems. Gaara's sand was much faster in the previous season. And second he had much more Chakra, being a Jinchuriki. I believe the fight should have been more creative while having the same outcome.
@@ryugalaw Yeah it was great but I wish we saw some more Jinchuriki abilities from Gaara in this fight like at least him using the version 1 chakra cloak or partial transformation
@@Ultimodestructico He doesn't have the chakra cloak, he just goes into raccoon form, then full shukaku mode. Plus, he had a disadvantage because he couldn't control shukaku, and he was fighting on top of his village. He was at an advantage with his sand and being in the desert, but he still couldn't go on a full out battle because if he used shukaku, there would have been a high possibility that he would destroy the sand village. He never did get an arc that suggests he got full control of shukaku. Who knows what would have happened if Gaara turned into shukaku without Naruto around this time to stop him
@Oni maru Nope. He's right. This fight put the viewers on notice that Akatsuki isn't Orochimaru, they have a goal and have the means of getting the job done. Hence, capture of the 1 tail jinchiriki.

U see , every akatsuki duo was fantasticly made and thought for .. . Deidara and sasori were the perfect to get teamed up . Different views of art . An instant flash of death or a long lasting life .. . Deidara really lived up to his hype ( wooped and nearly killed garra immediately after time skip , which only made us all terrified of the akatsuki further more ) and died in the best way possible . Becoming art itself .. . Shippuden villains were packed 💯🔥❤
Too be fair. The villain did a good job in playing on the heroes weakness. Protecting the innocent. If Gaara hadn't used up all his chakra protecting the village. He would have won.
@@benefitsbrian9199How??? Gaara hard counters Sasori. His poison won't penetrate his sand in any way, and his sand jutsu are waaay larger and stronger than his kazekage puppet. He is also faster and more mobile than Sasori. Gaara got caught in a bad situation since Deidara nukes villages and Gaara had to cover his village above all else.
@@joaquincasascortes624 Gaara was weakened, injured and Sasori possesses Iron Sand, which we know would beat regular sand because Gaara's dad used gold dust in the same way to counter the 1 Tail.
@@benefitsbrian9199 I still believe Gaara as a whole scales waaay above the kazekage puppet since early shippuden Sakura was enough to destroy it, and she scales below base Hebi Sasuke who isn't even close to kage level. Sakura doesn't has almost any speed feats unlike Gaara, neither does she has defensive feats. Literally she only knows how to punch hard and heal herself.
The first time I saw this fight the only thought I had was "Yes Deidara is strong, but he had to use a ruse to win". I think it was everyone's thought for how he was presented, despite the fact that it was immediately pointed that he simply had not prepared well (little clay) and above all he could not kill Gaara. Going forward with the series instead you understand that the difference between the two was really a lot in favor of Deidara
I hate to be _that_ guy but Gaara really lost due to plot. I say that without bias. There are just some things that shouldn't have happened the way they did. Like how Deidara very clearly mixed unprepared clay with Gaara's sand. Deidara has to form and mold the clay into specific shapes with his hands. The clay spiders that got Gaara were not shaped by Deidara as shown when he mixed the clay with the sand initially. He legitimately cannot just shape and control clay bombs without physically doing it himself. Which he didn't do. So that is a plot hole. The other is how Deidara busted out of a Shukaku enhanced Sand Prison (WITH HIS ARMS FREE LMAO) with a basic clay bomb. Sand Prison is also insinuated to be non-lethal so Gaara was likely also trying to capture Deidara, not kill him. This is also evident by the fact that Gaara only Sand Burial'd his arm instead of using the extra trailing sand (the amount that far exceeded the length of his arm) to constrict Deidara's entire body and crush him. This entire fight was written in Deidara's favor.

Tbh everybody is talking about "Gaara nerf" or "Deidara advantage" but Deidara was holding back by trying to not kill Gaara who had huge environment advantage

The enironment advantage is a non factor since, in the Kimimaro fight, we saw how a teenage Gaara can make his own sand terrain pretty much anywhere besides the Ocean I guess.
Dediara outsmarted Gaara so bad in this fight. Ok Gaara was protecting village and fighting at the same time but Gaara had much much more advantage here because of Sunagakure's sand and Deidara wasn't prepared much and he was holding back because of his mission.
Keep in mind that deidera hold himself in this fight..if he really want to destroy this village he can just use patrick star jutsu..and all of living things in this village will get atomized.

This is the best fight in the anime in my in my opinion The only fight in the sky all the time And the firat time we see an akatsuki other than kisame & itachi And this fight show us how Deidara is really smart and strong and calm all the time before he get nerfed He could kill garaa is seconds with c4 but pain order him to bring garaa alive
All these "Gaara would've won if he wasn't protecting the village" comments are hilarious. So what? Shinobi are meant to use underhanded tactics to win a fight no matter what, Deidara took advantage of that.
Deidara is still stronger than Gaara for all who think its bc they fought in the village instead of the middle of nowhere. First, Deidara is faster than the sand, meaning a speed battle would go to him bc of his quick moving explosives. Second, in a ranged battle, deidara would also win. His speed compiled with his extraordinary range, Gaarta would be hard-pressed to hit him. Deidara was choosen bc he can perfectly counter all of Gaara's attacks with his own. he can destroy large portions of sand while being fast enough to avoid the said sand. If gaara fully transformed, he couldn't tank a c4. If gaara tried for close range or mid range, many of deidaras close to mid range attacks (the ants and centipedes and other shit like that) would bypass the sand. The only chance to beat deidara is taijutsu. Then again, both aren't really shown to even know taijutsu. I would bet that Deidara would win a straight up taijutsu match bc Gaara was shown to be absolutely abysmal at it. But im not going to judge on that bc that wouldn't ever happen in a fight between them. Another thing to mention is Deidara (despite popular belief when concerning the battle) is very smart. he actively plans traps to lure the enemy and sneak expolsives inside defences. I don't think gaara could win a game of strategy against Deidara. Deidara would win a 1v1 with gaara in the middle of the desert with mid to high diff.
Deidara also didn't go all out. He didn't brought much clay. His fight with sasuke showed his actual power but he was countered bcz of sharingan + lightning style.
Deidara was just playing and he was unprapared but he managed to win with ease, imagine deidara at his full power, he could've erase the entire sand village in a moment lol

Gaara had to protect the village and it was plot because in the manga the tailed beast were captured. It’s a good fight but I think it would be more interesting with no plot in an open field

Gaara just playsafe here. To be honest Deidara can be defeated easily if Gaara went all-out with his power but Gaara do his duty to save his village from any harm and danger as a Lord Kazekage. If Gaara was all-out in this fight, Deidara is probably lose / K.I.A but Hidden Sand villagers life will exposed to risk and danger. It was a great character development for Gaara, from being an ruthless jinchuuriki into a responsible village Lord.
Nah deidara just flat out beat gaara. I can use the logic of if deidara had actually prepared and was going for the kill... gaara wouldve lost earlier. Gaara lost against an opponent not going all out in killing him. Gaara was going for the kill.

Why could Deidara not just fly far out of range? why did he hover just in range? so sasuke could do some jump shit. When he attacked Gaara he was shown using extremely long range explosives yet vs Sasuke he needed to be "just out of range". Why is that? because the mangaki realized that he had given Deidara a power that if he used it properly he would simply be unbeatable since he could just fly around in the air far out of range dropping giant or pinpoint explosives on anyone. Hell his nano bombs would wipe out entire villages. Why did he start using mines small bombs, and all kinds of weird stuff like clay puppets instead of just flying up in the air and dropping the thing that WOULD have destroyed pretty much the entire sand village? Because the mangaki keeps writing himself into corners so he needs to come up with more and more rules and bullshit to keep the manga from falling apart. Even if this means breaking previously established rules like summonings and chakra. Deidara was by a longshot the most powerful member of Akatsuki. The mangaki either realized this and decreased his powerlevels after the Garaa fight or he is retarded like the main character. This entire show is made for retards who do not know any better. and all you fuckfaced fans who defend this piece of garbage with bad logic, contradicting rules and other forms of sad shit are fucking dumb.
Because Kishi doesn't know what he gonna do with Deidara anymore, so he killed him. Even I feel that fight was random, they just met, argue, and suddenly have a deathmatch

Say what you want about Shippuden or Boruto or whatever. But OG Naruto was a masterpiece. And characters like Kimimaro deserve more than just 5 episodes of screen time.
