Wow! Regardless of what happens down the season, it's incredible that Gabby has competed again after 7+ years! Especially knowing that she's going to be compared to her Olympic best. I can't imagine the immense pressure, nerves and more that she must have been feeling. The fact she was able to get through today was amazing! I hope she sticks with it past this year if she's enjoying it! And yes, while a few weeks until next competition isn't much time, a few weeks can certainly help as far as getting used to using competitive landing surfaces. Hopefully today helped her mentally too, knowing she has the 1st competition back out of the way.
She got this!!!! This is her first competition since 2016!!!! Nerves were expected! I hope she got them out!!! I won’t be able to see her in Paris!!! Like I did in London!!! Rooting for the history maker
Her Healy and Ling are so pretty. She's the only US girl with E pirouettes, right? She needs numbers numbers numbers. I hope she goes to core classic and hits. She has the skills, just needs the conditioning and numbers....
@@cassenav Conditioning has to do with performing more work in the same time or performing the same work in less time. Endurance has to do with maintaining the same work for longer time. In this case conditioning would be to do the skills on bars. Do them all together id endurance. With running conditioning would be to run 1 mile in 5 minutes. If you improve your time to 4 minutes that is conditioning. Endurance is to be able to run two miles at the same time. It’s confusing a bit but it’s not the same
@@cassenav There is nothing to agree to disagree. It is English language and what the words mean. I explained, conditioning has to do with muscles and strength, endurance has to do with muscles and your cardiovascular system.
@@leykimayriofc you’re the first to comment under a GABBY video!!! Sis still qualified to nationals with those falls though it’s best she gets them out now prior to core classics 💅🏽
@@leykimayri it's her first bar routine in competition since 2016. Did you watch Suni's bars last month? Same trainwreck. You have to practice competing also. You don't count out Olympic champions.
@@HazelAmarie I was actually not the first lol. And the target isn’t to qualify to nationals, but to get to the Olympics . Guess what? She won’t make it lol
First meet back in almost 8 years. My heart would just stop. I know she must be incredibly nervous. I still have 100% confidence that she will be just fine.
She has the skills and difficulty is there. It was nerves!! She just needs more reps. I think she will be ok she has more time. She just needs to hit at US Classics. This wasn't a disaster, in my opinion. This was a big step and based off of what she's shown here if she hits 4 for 4 at the next few meets she's definitely a serious contender!! She got a 50.65 with 3 falls! and 51 is the AA qualifying score. She'll be ok as long as she hits at Classics next month.
Well she’s already qualified to nats but yes she needs to hit at classics to qualify to the AA which I have no doubt that she can do. She just has to remove the nerves and get back into the vibe of competing again.
What nerves? Don’t you see she doesn’t have the endurance? The second fall was on purpose in order to catch her breath. When you don’t have the stamina the heart starts beating like crazy and you simply run out of breath (hence why some heart medications that are used for doping athletes, to help the heart endure more). She felt because otherwise she wouldn’t have been able to reach the high bar and dismount herself, so she had a fall instead and waited the whole minute to catch her breath and then return to finish. She’ll need at least another year in the gym to build endurance….
@@leykimayri You sound so dumb those falls looked preventable … Scott Bregman confirmed that Gabby had a HIT bar routine during warm ups. She hasn’t competed in 8 YEARS of fucking course she’s going to have nerves during her first competition… let her cook she still has until classics and nationals.
@leykimayri, you make no sense she's been training for more than 2 years already she doesn't need 3 years to make a comeback, lol. It wasn't her endurance after the pak it was her nerves getting ready for the chow1/2. She was still rattled from her fall on the jaegar. You could see it in her pak . Again, you make no sense, lol
bit of a rough start to her comeback but i have no doubt she’ll get the consistency we know she can have back. coming back after nearly 8 years is an incredible feat in itself. can’t wait to see where she goes from here.
@@lalareal180A lot can change in these next few months silly and yes Gabby is throwing difficult skills at a SMALL meet most don’t start throwing those until nationals/trials. You knew what he meant you just used it as a chance to downplay Gabby GTFO
Is it that early in the season tho? Internationally there have been several high-level competitions already, the European championships are actually happening as we speak. Idk when the US generally selects their teams, but it feels like there have also already been a few big comps in the US by this point in the season, like Winter Cup and whatnot. From what I know (not a whole lot about the US gymnastics system tbf), given the number of meets left that would allow someone to qualify for the Olympic Trials, it seems like her chances of getting there and even being considered for the Olympic team are preeeetty low. I hope she makes it to the OT at least tho.
@@HazelAmarie I don't think anybody is downplaying Gabby, but it's just a fact that she doesn't have a record of recent comps to fall back on as an argument for why she should even go to OT. The powers-that-be are deciding whether or not she qualifies for O Trials based on how she does in THIS "small meet", in big part, since it's the first one she's participated in over the last 7+ years. She was supposed to go to Winter Cup (I think), which would have given her more time to show what she can bring to the table and work through some of the competition "rustiness" and nerves, but sadly that didn't happen. Idk what they'll decide because from the outside her performance here doesn't look super promising, tbh. They could choose to consider her intended D score rather than her actual achieved total scores at this meet and see this as an uncharacteristically shaky display, tho again, they don't have much at all to base this assumption on since she hasn't competed in 7+ years. The level she's at, given everything, is super impressive, nobody's debating that. Her realistic chances of getting selected for the Olympic team are still small, however, and getting smaller with every little mistake she makes, since she has so few opportunities to make her case for going to OT.
@@millacabral9475 Well yes. It is her first competition of the season... oftentimes people upgrade at nationals or trials. I agree she has no shot at making the team though
@@legolass163 Again the warmup wasn't a full routine that's why it was beautiful. The minute she had to connect those pirouettes to the rest of the routine she felt. And then felt again on purpose to catch her breath since she literally run out of it. And even with the 30 seconds break, she still couldn't get the endurance to finish the routine correctly and she underrotated her dismount. She simply has not been training full routines in the gym it is obvious.
@@leykimayri The pirouettes are beautiful because she has one of best lines on bars not just because the routine wasn’t connected. I’m sure she already has the routine together in training. You don’t just try it in competition, no coaches would allow that💀
Gabby is gorgeous on bars with those long legs! Sometimes she gets nervous, thats all. Gabby don't be shy, when the crowd starts screaming for you. We really like what your doing. Your good. Focus don't get nervous. Stick it, as our pride and joy little Simone says. We are routing for all of our girls! Ms. Marcia A. Strong
Why do yall argue w ppl who make it clear that they hate the person who they've never met, doesnt know them, and whose video THEY'RE on?! Learn to ignore and hope that ppl like that get lives outside in real life.
How rude. Simone is around the same age. Gabby paved the way. Now all you haters get up there and do what Gabby do. I will wait. All the negative people. Go to church
No way, Gabby’s gonna make the Olympic team I mean there’s no way in my opinion in these three this is she’s three months away and all these routines are like bad routines for an elite gymnast. Who’s going to the Olympics
No it is not, she had an execution of 5.850, without the falls she would get deductions on the skills performed so her execution would be less than 7.880
@@leykimayri here you go again with your non making sense ass lol and don't know what you're talking about, lol. If she did her planned bar routine, she would've had the highest start value in the competition again she would've won bars, duhhh! Again, stop saying shit just to be saying it 😂 🙄
ew don’t insult Gabby like that .. she actually competed AA and had a bars dismount .. she’s doing more than Nastia could ever attempt. Gabby just has to shake those nerves off .. she will be fine with more repetition.
@@leykimayri she competed on all 4 events .... with dismounts...she fell on two events after an 8 year hiatus....Sunni? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 still not competing 4 events... still has no dismount... and competed NCAA... what? Last year? I can't 😆 🤣 😂 😹 😆
@@amakasan2083 Sunni didn’t compete four evens neither in the Winter Cup nor in the American Classic in 2021 and not only she got the gold AA Olympic medal but the whole US team relied on her basically as team leader to get the Olympic silver team medal. So stop comparing Sunni to Gabby because Sunni’s strategy has always been to keep herself as safe as possible until needed. And she may now be in remission for kidney problems, but in 2021 she was suffering from injuries. Literally you can’t compare the reigning Olympic champion to that disaster we saw from Gabby two days ago.
Having a spotter is a necessary safety precaution. They are always there. Gymnasts are used to it and it absolutely doesn't break their concentration, especially such an experienced gymnast as Gabby.
So? There’s no limit to number of times to compete in the Olympics. If she scores higher than some of the other girls, that means she deserves to be there.
