What a fun challenge! I think I would need hours in that store. For the "best category", I go with Phils choice, because I really like cats, and also thats its usefull. For the "weirdest category", I like both choices. Both are cool, and its funny that Amy wanted to find the same Gachapon machine that Phil used.
For me the best was the cat glasses holder and strangest was the sitting pumpkin! Definitely a challenge making your choices in such a short space of time - we spent ages faffing in much smaller gachapon shops 😂
Best: Phil's lil kitty glasses holder😸 im a sucker for anything cat and I agree its super practical! Fun and functional Weirdest: Phil again (Loved the polite little pumpkin though) but the Noodle monster was so strange!
I think it's wild that in that entire store you both almost got the noodle monster as one of your picks! I think the best one was the pumpkin sitting down gacha, but the strangest was the noodle monster for sure. So... a draw? I love these gachapon challenges. :)
I definitely love the strange little Yumen… I’d like to go to Japan just to get the entire collection… and the kitty conbini set was just delightfully adorable.
Overall you are both winners however, since I have to choose I think Amy's Convenie Store Gashapon was the best as it is interactive as well as cute. Phil won for strangest as the noodles with faces are kinda scary! The fact that you both chose that in the beginning makes it the sure fire strangest winner. Thanks for another great video. I live vicariously through your Japan trips...happy, happy, happy!
best was the glasses holder which ill 100% try to look for in japan it looks so useful, and weirdest was the sitting pumpkin! that ones just plain creepy
I must agree with Philip's "logic" about the cat glass holder. A practical gacha., especially a very cute one, gets my vote for the best one. 😺And the strangest is the Yuumen . Who wouldn't want one of those🍜. Thanks for the super fun video guys! And don;t worry Amy, you'll get him next time.🏆
That store is HUGE!!!! I probably spent an hour in there. I love how you both thought the strangest was the same, so I consider that a tie. Both of you found wonderful choices but I have to vote for Phil's choices.
Ahhh I do love this series! Nyan conbini is the best, and noodle monster the strangest, so both Amy and Phil win in the end ❤ Next time definitely extend the time a bit, so we can see more cool gachas
best - cat glasses rest. strangest - pumpkin with legs. I kind of like the ramen noodle monsters, sort of mini version of those faux examples of food in windows, plus a monster!
I'm travelling to Japan in March, and after seeing this I not only have to check out gachapon - but I have to go hunting for that cat glasses holder (possibly an impossible task, I wonder how many gachapon machines I'll end up exploring!). So cute! Cat glasses holder definitely gets my vote for the best. The pumpkin was the strangest. Thanks for all the great videos on your channel!
I saw the brids on the rail outside the station when I was in Japan (during one of my "Bocchi the Rock" anime locations days). Took pics of course... Also..The drummer of my favourite band, Akane Hirose, (also my now favourite drummer ever!) also played the trumbone!...The basist MISA played french horn and trumpet!...Both also play a little piano.
@@cakeswithfaces In the anime "Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid", there is a bridge which appears in the OP of Season 2..It also has birds on the rail by the support arch..They are pigeons (though presumed Doves as Japanese language doesn't differentiate I believe). I took pictures of them when I visited the area where the anime is set...No clothing sadly.
I could spend a long time getting lost in that store! I think the best one is the cat basket and drink (how adorable!) and the strangest one is those noodles.
I'd love to say it's a tie because I love Nyanko, but if I can't I'd have to give it to Phil for the Yumen noodle monster. I'm planning my first visit to Japan for this year (paws crossed) and I'm obsessed with finding that set of Yumen gachas now. Sunshine City just moved from my "maybe" pile to "definitely".
Hope you can find them (or something equally awesome!). Someone told me there's now another huge gachapon store in Sunshine City on the floor below that one too. What a gachapon goldmine!
That's a huge store!!!! You could spend an hour at least. I think Phil wins for the Best; I tend to agree with the "utility" idea plus, it's a cute cat!!! Amy wins for Strangest because vegetables with appendages made me think of an old Gilligan's Island episode where they found radiation-treated seeds and grew some weird stuff. Well done, BOTH of you!!! You could turn this into a game show--"Iron Gachapon: Only One Can Win!"
Love the gachapon videos. We bought so many whilst over in Japan last Spring. Votes for this challenge go to Amy for the best and Phil definitely has the strangest.
This was so fun to watch! I think the cat glasses holder for best and the pumpkin with legs for strangest! Going to Japan for the first time for my honeymoon in October and definitely gonna have to try and do this
For me both the best and strangest go to Phil. The cat was so cute, even thought I agree that the ones in the series that lays down are a bit cuter. Still would love that as glasses holders!
Just stumbled across your channel. Subbed. Thanks for all of the info in your videos, they're great, really fueling those Japan travel dreams. And I like how natural you both are, it gets grating when people play up to the camera too much.
We went to that store and I was surprised that it did have an entirely separate room in the back. Just. Kept. Going. Great video. Phil’s choices win 🥇 🏆
Best - Amy's the winner just for sheer play potential. I would get into so much trouble with that sort of toy on my desk. Weirdest - definitely the pasta monsters. Those are creepy weird.
My vote for best: Amy's Nyanmart basket. Phil made a good point about a gacha being useful, but I don't find a glasses holder that useful. Collecting the whole set of Nyanmart items sounds fun. My vote for weirdest: Phil's noodle thing. I think Amy pulled from a good set, unfortunately I think the pumpkin one was the worst of the set. The noodle people things are definitely a little on the weird side. Best=Amy, Weirdest=Phil.
Best to me is cat convenience store and strangest is definitely that leggy pumpkin. This is such a great idea - I wanna try it when we visit for the first time in October! Thanks!
This was so much fun! I thought the best one is the cat conbini and the strangest is the noodle monster. I really wish I had seen those glasses holders when I was in Japan! I would have tried to get a black cat one. 🥰
Phil's were the best and strangest. Also, glad to see you found the MOS Burger ones. I love MOS Burger and was delighted to discover and buy MOS Burger gachapon when I was there last year.
My vote for strangest is definitely the noodle monster, and I think Amy's Cat's was the cutest. I know that is a split vote, but I think that your combined efforts yielded the best results. Also, just a guess, the tall sitting vegetable looked like an okra to me. Thank you for all of the great, fun, and informative videos!
It's hard to pick the best gachapon, since you both went for cat items...but I think Phil's cat glasses holder is the winner. The strangest one is definitely Amy's pumpkin with legs. I find the idea of vegetables just standing up and walking away quite creepy! 👀🙅♀
Gotta say Phil wins both! The glassholder is super cute and simply useful and the noodle monster is definitely the weirdest, but still in a very good way
I think best - Amy's, strangest - Phil's, although I loved both of the strange ones and will be looking out for them when I go to this store later this year!
We are going in June with our two grandkids, and the idea of a gachapon challenge will be perfect for them - great idea! I think Phil one both categories - best with those wonderful glass holders, and strangest with the noodle monster. Our first day in tokyo we plan on visiting this same gachapon shop so I'll be on the lookout for them. I've been watching many of your videos in prep for the trip, but this was the one that got me to order your book. I look forward to using it!
Thanks so much, that's much appreciated - it'll be on the way to you in the post tomorrow! Your grandkids will love the gachapon, and doing a challenge with them will be so much fun! I'm sure they'll enjoy Sunshine City - there's also an aquarium there, and the Pokemon Centre. I hope you'll be collecting souvenir stamps as you go around too! :-)
I think Phil won that competition especially the noodle monsters. I can’t wait to go to Japan later this year I hope we get to look around a gapachon store. It looked like fun.
Best Gachapon = Kitty Eye Glass Holder (Cause it's cute and useful), Strangest Gachapon = Ramen Monster (It's very Random). If Favorite Gachapon was part of the Challenge, it would be the Pumpkin with legs cause I love pumpkins!
Phil won this challange for me (thoi i was cheering for Amy 😁) the cat is just a perfect combination of a kawaii and a functional item! And the noodle man was just the weirdest thing ever. Japanese imagination is amazing and this shows there are no limits in what they can put in those gatcha's. thx for the video 😍
The weirdest is definitely the pumpkin for me since I found the legs kind or morph into teeth in my weirded out imagination. And the noodles monster is actually pretty kawaii for being a monster. The glasses holder is my second choice - I will be looking for it when going to Tokyo. Unless they miraculously have some at the gachapon floor in London’ s Namco Bandai center :) It was a very fun video Amy Thanks
I think Nyanko Mart is the best because I love miniatures for toy photography hehe. Sorry Amy, but the noodle monster is the strangest. So that's one each haha. This is fun!
Best - Amy! Strangest - Phil! Definitely points all around though. I went to this store in March last year and it is absolutely dizzying how many gacha there are!
The pumpkin with legs with the strangest and also the best 😅😂😂 Very cute! Love your channel, you give us so many amazing ideas and places to see for our Japan trips 🎊
Wow very much so. Tried to look through most because I was seaching for something specifik. But that was quite i possible. Can't believe you only used 15 mins for the Challenge! You went in again after right? 😊
What a very entertaining watch. Which we intend to follow on in April. So Best is the very useful, & different, Phil’s glass holders. The Strangest is the rather perplexed Ramen with the folded arms. Thank you & keep up the very entertaining & informative videos.
I'm sorry Amy, but Phils get both weirdest and best. But best comment goes with a big smile to Amy saying "I think it makes you more strange" (17:07) when Phil confess he actually like Amy's strange Gashapon.
I like phil's gachas. both of them. I have glasses, so those cats are useful. and the strangest is indeed the monster noodles. And i agree with phil, i like gachas that are useful and cool at the same time
Awww loved this so much!! I've been dreaming of going back to Japan, especially for the Gashapon, so I love watching your videos and living vicariously through them haha! That being said, I have a bias for the Noodle Monsters because I am a fan of that company, Panda No Ana makes the weirdest gachas, they are super awesome! But I also really loved the sitting pumpkin 😅 Nyanko conbini is the best though, so one point for each of you 😅
The pumpkin was the strangest, or should I say creepiest. I liked all of the other 3 but if I had to choose 1, Neko mart was the best and cutest. Fun challenge. Might have to do it with my friends. Thanks
I genuinely loved the glasses holder, so well done Phil for the best and most useful. The sitting pumpkin was the best strange one in my books, would look great on a desk to keep you company. Thanks for the great video.
Cat convenience store is the best, I love the detail and the noodle monster is very strange. Honorable mention for the fat Alpaca you saw on the way out for both strange and best. 😂
Spoilers! Best: Glasses-holding kitty (Phil) Strangest: Noodle monster (also Phil) Sorry, Amy! However, I do think that the limbed pumpkin could be used as a miniature in a tabletop role-playing game :-)
I think Phile set is for the win...the kawaii Cat glasses holder is just cute and very usefull and the Yumen... I love the pun and how strange they are... but Amy's pick were very nice also :)
Best was the cat glasses holder. Strangest (but still cute) was pumpkin with legs. Runner up for best was Amy's sushi necklace because that was just too cute!
Me and my family are going to Japan next month. I was going to stick to Akiba for gachapon, but it looks like a short hop to Ikebukuro and Sunshine Ciry may be in the cards now!
