I'd love to see Aputure (now that they bought Prolycht) make a dedicated LED ellipsoidal lamp with rotating barrel. Full spectrum would be nice. But I'd prefer more output with bi-color & G/M tint . Maybe this is possible with Aputure's new XT line of products??? Excited to see what they come up with.

Well with my Prolycht Orion 675 FS - I added the Dedolight DP400 (DP400 Con-AP) Serial no. 1024 - now this gives the ull offer of any DP400 - so every option as you would expect, the very high quality lenses - and 18 iris options - as everyone knows if its Dedo it does.

Hey John. Are you able to fit multiple gobos into that holder? Often I stack trees on top of window patterns for a a little extra.

I wonder why they don't just make a stand alone ellipsoidal unit with a built in COB light. Something purpose built so you're not putting the lens on multiple lights with the chance that none of them may work perfectly. As they are doing it now where they have a whole additional fixture strapped on is just silly, imagine what it'll be like with the 1200d and it has a ballast to top it off. In an ideal world they could even just make a light unit that you can swap out the old tungsten back of a ETC light for a new LED one saving thousands of fixtures from the landfill.

I think that will happen in the future more and more, it’s nice to have the Swiss Army knife of the COB but in the pro world, aka feature / episodic they need the speed and efficiency of a dedicated unit for sure… ETC did make the source FWD which was an led insert “bulb” for retrofit but it was not great…

I don’t know if it’s even possible but I wonder if they could build something that would allow you to adjust “back focus” or change the coverage, the way you can on a Cinema lens. Shims or adding/subtracting elements? Maybe too much hassle/cost for the end user?
