Thank you Bill and Gloria Gaither,I love the Gaither Vocal Band and all the singers! when Im down in a valley your music lifts me up and I also feel so blessed after listening to all the great songs. I listen to these songs if I'm stressed and can't fall asleep at night,it is wonderful to listening about the Lord in song while becoming unstressed. This song takes me back to my childhood in the 90s me and my sister swinging in the back yard my dad having this blaring I loved to sing to it. It also reminds me of my grandma she used have my grandpa record these guys singing off of TV on VCR tapes. I sure miss those days 💔

I went to a concert of his, my dad was also in the professional gospel industry so I had the pleasure of meeting him. He was fabulous I had a huge crush on him. He was very nice guy.

Ya know, as a Christian, you really shouldn't say that people are RIP (that should NEVER EVER be on a person's tombstone, and if I die, I guarantee it won't be on mine). If the person is in Heaven, they're living it up with Jesus, they are NOT resting in peace. And if the person is in hell, they are DEFINITELY not resting in peace

As a Seventh Day Adventist I do believe people who died in the Lord are resting until He will come and take us home when he deems the time is right. So with the knowledge of Him taking you home, you are resting in peace.

I have a cassette, recorded in 1980 or 1981 of a traveling gospel band that came to my church and they sing this song. As far as I can tell, that's decades before anyone, including before the Heritage Quartet (Kensmen) did the song. I'm suspicious that this song was stolen. When was the first known time the Gaithers sang this?

The more soulful white people try to sound when they do gospel,the more hopelessly white they sound....I know,I I know..."But it's about the message" Perhaps,but it doesn't change the fact that Traditional White Gospel is as bad and boring as music gets,in my mind.
