In an interview with David, Bill Gaither told David they don’t sing that song anymore since David left the group. He said it just wouldn’t sound the same without Davids part.

There is a performance with Russ Taft where David is even better. Probably the best one I've heard. And Mark Lowry and Guy Penrod....shew... You're right . Such talent. Love all the singers and bands associated with the Gaither vocal band. The Hoppers... shouting time in heaven. I may try to send in for a request. I have subscribed btw. Anyone else notice Mark tapped Guy Penrod and said "it's not you, it's David. Guy handled it professionally David did his solo part. Then at time stamp 5:18 both Mark and Bill tapped Guy and he plunged into his solo like the Un waivered champion he is. David Phelps is in a league of his own without a doubt. Guy Penrod has a light around him with an anointment by God. Guy is a powerful singing with the light of God emanating from through the screen. Guy belting voice and breath control is unmated. That said there are amazing vocalists and I love listening to them all. Still my favs are Mark Lowery, Guy Penrod, David Phelps as harmony singers and Michael English as a soulful storyteller. All Gaither singers are amazing.

This is certainly a wonderful version, very powerful! I would have loved to see Russ Taff. The camera didn't catch him, but I'm sure he was doing his little dance! Praise to all the members of this wonderful group!

Russ Taff was in there - a little older Russ Taff who looks a little different than he once did. Russ was standing two people to the left of Larnelle Harris. Russ is probably the shortest person in the group. He has aged since he last sang with the Gaither Vocal Band.

Thank you for loving my Gaithers. I guess I can claim them after following them for more than thirty years and buying everything they produce. I own the very first homecoming video they produced back in 1990 which was the forerunner of all the videos they have produced down through the years. And these are only the homecoming videos. I follow the vocal band too. They always seem to touch the place in your soul that needs the most attention and bring peace to your heart. Again, thank you.

What a treat to get a third reaction in a week to the Gaithers. A great way to start the day with spirit lifting music and Lyle's smiling face. I wish he had requested the version of this beautiful song that the Gaithers did at Carnegie Hall as a tribute to 911 and the first responders. It is a much better version 💓

I knew that he did that reaction 3 years ago. I love this performance with all of the current and former members of the GVB. I think 2 of the performers were not in the GVB, but have been on their videos as backups from time to time.
