The nerfs were warranted for the Gripen due to how massively overperforming it was back then in flight performance (and maybe now still depending how people still look at it). In my honest opinion it seems fine as is for now, though I prefer that Gaijin would rework the FM from the ground up again, maybe with a little more AoA pull considering the FCS allows you to pull up to 55 degrees of AoA before overridding IRL. Still a capable dogfighter, just have to put some thought instead. As for the rest, while the missile count is low, it can be managed with taking your missile shots more carefully. With the countermeasures, you can be hyper aggressive as long as you stick low or defend properly against Fox 3s if you plan to go that route. Sweden has yet to receive the JAS-39E which will be much better once it releases.

There is practically not a single point in this entire video where you say something that is near being correct. The Jas-39 still shits on most things in the game in a dogfight. It definitely doesn't lose to a Flanker of all things.

irl, the gripen was intended to be a cheap alternative to the f-16 i suppose for the sake of the game it would be a good idea to make the flight performance competitive, which it already is; the gripen as it stands rn is very competitive in both one and two circle fights; just because the f-16 beats the gripen in the rate fight doesn't make it bad, it still beats everything else, including the j-10 in the rate. irl the gripen's engine was always criminally underpowered until the E variant, so it really shouldnt be as strong as it is right now, but it's a game

Its not the plane its how you use it. - maverick. I would agree with you perhaps if the gripen didnt have more counter measure than i can use in a match making it much easier to evade missiles. It has phenominal maneuverability while payload is smaller it takes 1 missile to get a kill and thats at the minimum all you need. If you get atleast 1 kill per realistic high tier battle your doing good in general add some ground kills into that too and your doing very well probs averaging 7-10k a match. This thing is a better maneuvering f16. I love the gripen and hope it stays relevant thru the next generation i just think its crazy to say a plane isnt usable as other planes have a larger payload and some planes can maneuver better. Air kills has always been about using your brain. If you know you have 0 chance of winning a 1 or 2 circle against a jf-17 or j10 then do what you can to avoid them. I always try to dogfight top tier with teammates around me so potentially someone can get a lock on them while in dogfighting the best i can to buy time to get away or line up a shot for a teammate. Obvi doesnt always work like that but i do think the gripen c is better than the crappy counter measure amount on the f16c in all honesty. Thats like the biggest complaint as i can typically multipath or chaff it off but then im out of cm for the merge or i dont have enough to protect myself post merge. I def agree though its the best sweden has and should be treated as such not another vehicle to nerf in a tree thats making a country a bit to overpowered. Sweden be like overpowered?? But its all i have! As far as modern jets go at least they have some sick old school fighter planes that are unique and maneuver phenomenally

looses less speed when pulling than a Mirage 2000, has the best fox 3s, shits CM out of its ass for 5 minutes non stop, flight performance matched by a single other plane(J-10A) and still has better missiles that it. if you cant perform well in this thing you have skill issue
