Listening to this, surprised how easily the tides shifted and on how a escape pod was able to destroy the retribution--Wasn't it a flagship?--though weakened and the possibly of a well placed strike doing just that, still odd and surprised that an escape pod was able to do so much damage. I like these stories, but this one has a lot of inconsistencies… 1. They were fighting within the council chamber and then suddenly he’s on the bridge? 2. Why would he fight anyone who would draw a knife in a “gun fight”, especially when the intent is to eliminate that threat? 3. Why leave when you’ve got access to the council? Eliminate the threat and be done with it. 4. 30 mins to withdraw and react to an invasion nowhere near your present location? Unless you’re dealing with instantaneous transporter technology, that’s not happening. And if you have it, why would you send ships at all? You could have just teleported a strike team in and be done with it. 5. It’s odd to constantly hear about a seniour commander always leading the charge, let alone a strike team I like your writing style, but there are WAY too many inconsistencies and odd incongruities. Unfortunately, I don’t feel like this was one of your better stories.
